everybody is talking about flashbang and teleporters, but the real issue is that he gets hit by the jump attack the boss does every time instead of just rolling through it :/
Step 1: Stand in front of Teleporter
Step 2: Press RB button
Step 3: Choose destination
Step 4: ???
Step 5: Profit
Eggman asks for something to stun his enemies at 21:29 then at 22:00 immediately skips a flashbang on the ground.

NL the timed doors are a trap. Completely clear the levels. You don't have to press your face into every corner but if there could be a stat upgrade in that corner you will. Passing up a possible stat upgrade for maybe ~1.5k gold is not worth it. Stat upgrades are exponential, passing two up on the early levels because you're rushing cuts your damage (or health) in half. There were at least two health upgrades during your second run that you skipped, if you had picked them both up you would've had ~360 health on the boss fight and the final tilt combo would've taken half your health instead of most of it.
There is no penalty at all for being slow in clearing the levels. You're not playing Isaac, you don't have encyclopedic knowledge of this game, you're not consistent in this game, the time you spend on a level is not at all in any way indicative of how you good a run you have, the best runs you have had where the slower ones.
Domattee very true, tried telling him a few episodes ago that slow is better than rushing through. It's a lot like Dark Souls, where it's easy to get overwhelmed by enemies, especially when they can kill you in 2-3 hits. Once he reaches the levels where scorpions come out of the ground, he needs to slow down, or he'll have 4 enemies to kill at the same time.
Though, once he finally gets around to doing sewers/oubliette he'll need to do them again for the recipes, as well as the recipe post black bridge boss for 10-11 min run. Otherwise though, yeah egg needs to learn to play a lot slower, or when he's playing fast, get every single upgrade (I can make it to black bridge with every part of the map explored with 9m going through promenade/ramparts as long as I ignore enemies, which nets you a decent amount of gold while giving you stats and hitting up important timed rooms, but this sacrificed dead cells which he doesn't want to do right now)
I've been stuck on that boss for so long. It goes from super easy and simple coriographed moves to a chimpmunk on cocaine. I'm nearly to egg levels from all the hair I've been pulling out
Try to find the turret and the swamp things skills and cheese the boss that way. Thats how I managed to kill him. All you have to do is cast skills and dodge.
Stay at medium range. Too far and he jumps all the time and not too close so you have time to dodge his attacks. Try to get big crits so you can do a lot of damage between each shield. For example using the rapier and phaser to give yourself a crit +150% more damage, and if you can throw a damage buffer in there you can basically one shot the boss.
I've beat it in my 3rd or 4th run and im pretty bad at these type of games, i barely unlocked 2nd healing flask before the fight and used only fire/flash grenades till he changes he's patterns, that's when i went all in.
Oirad16 I knew that already. It was basically nerves that always got me. I went for dmg when he was close to dead and got punished. I just best him with an open run. Electric whip x2 dmg, extra dmg ability, magnetic grenade, and extra life. It was insane until in graveyard I was pushed into spikes
actually in the final stage it gets 1 new move i.e. the jump, if u dodge under the jump ur all good. Its a coreographed move.

I did. for it's price Ive gotten a lot out of it, especially for early access. Would recommend.
It feels like a 10 dollar game with a 6 dollar promise on it. Not worth it's full price yet, but has good future prospects.
It's an incredible game. I suggest it.
i had more than 16 dollars worth of fun out of it already.

He's not so easy NL, for the first 60% of the fight he is and then he goes ham. Your best friend in that fight is A) learning that he always jumps at you after doing the fire floor move, and B) jump rolling. That's right, you can roll in the air and it's an absolute game-changer.
That is to say once he goes ham he always jumps at you after the fire. Jump roll to avoid it every time.
Word of advice: do not rush. The timed doors are not worth it. Instead, take your time and find the floor runes to the secret challenge areas. One spawns on every level. Those always have a chest at the end, which is always better than some gold from the timed rooms.

Hey NL, just so you know, Knifestorm is actually like, ridiculously overpowered: if you get it with something like damage buffer, and upgrade your skills to +3 or +4, you can half the Incomplete One in a single hit from close range

Can't eat carrot because he's at full health. Immediately takes damage on spikes 5 feet away from carrot. Doesn't go back to eat carrot to get back to full health.
Just picked up this game today and I've already surpassed Egg lord and gotten to the swamp after bridge guy

It bothers me that Northernlion doesn't use the teleporters to decrease the amount of time he spends on a level.

Forget about timed doors when you're going for the boss. Take your time to explore and get as many chests, upgrades, items, etc
within 10 seconds he passes 3 secrets, 2 of which he hits so they glow blood red, he ignores them all

Eggs excuse for not grabbing strength is "I get hit" but if you do enough damage after getting hit you lose 10 or so hp tops per hit. This added on to the fact that you can often sneak up and kill enemies before they attack with high strength as well as the fact that most times enough health upgrades show up throughout the run, whether from items with bonus stats on them or actual health upgrades that you get enough health anyway, means that you should ALWAYS choose strength (or skills if you've got some really good skills at the time)

It's so Northernliony to talk about how a stun would be nice, and then *immediately* ignore a flashbang.
I bought this game over the weekend. Here is what I've learned
Shields are a great counter to the boss especially the stun shield!
Infantry bow is great! Its basically a high damage melee weapon.
Also the horizontal turret is great, and I highly recommend unlocking it.
And you know a game is good when it makes you get up and walk around the office when you die. lol, did that several times myself.
I facepalmed and sighed so hard when he left that flash bang on the ground...

Omg, the flash bang though. Right as she asks for stuns. It hurts. He just walks straight to the next level the moment it presents itself on top of it. He probably could have beaten it with the flash.
NL having 5 strength by the first boss is nuts, but you should have probably got some more health. I beat the game today with 6 strength at the end, but 10 hp upgrades. It's less fun but hp is how you get further.
Also slow down and explore man, timed doors aren't a big deal. You missed a lot and not just the flashbang. This game is awesome, savor it.
what usually do early game is take 2 hp upgrades then the rest in strengh if im passed the first boss and still havnt gotta at least 1 more hp upgrade ill level that up when i come across one

A small tactic that @northernlion needs to make use of is breaking doors open to stun the enemy behind them instead of opening every one.
Leaves a health up, takes a strength at 4 strength, leaves flashbang. Never change egg.

NL, unlock the horizontal turrets,they clear rooms well and are very strong against the boss.Also,to be able to progress you'll have to go to the old sewers and fight an elite.

Alright Nl I was just going to leave a friendly reminder to use the teleporters to get back to the surface but leaving the flashbang on the ground immediately after asking for one takes the cake.
"Oh he left it but he might see it on the way back since he doesn't use teleporters. Oh, there's the boss. Nevermind."
Also thanks for remembering to use your skill during the boss fight
Electric whip seems decent. Nice range, quick, good for picking off flyers and it delays enemies a little.
Personal opinion. The whip is amazing once you get two or three damage upgrades because it has really good range and homes in on enemies above or below you. Also: Throwing Knives are fucking fantastic.
You really need to use the teleporters...
I was getting frustrated at never getting an unlocked time door, then I realized that I just needed to not waste 5 minutes walking back up to the surface each time.

hey NL as a long time Souls fan i have to say this game is pretty legit, i beat the first Elite/Boss on my first try and then the bridge guy on my first try TOO. I constantly get to the ramparts and i only bought the game 12h ago. in my professional opinion, the sturdy shield is a must have for elites and bosses
Pro tip, spec in skill and get knife storm plus a CC type or just grenade then have twin daggers or rapier. When ever you have the choice of what skill to add power to pick skill unless it's your first one then get health. Having one health upgrade is really useful but after that take skill 100% of the time. When specked into skill the knife storm will melt the boss with ease and what ever your other skill is. All you have to do is roll and hit your skills and you will beat him.
You don't have to hit the rune to find it, you can just see them in the walls and floors when you walk by them.
The video begins with a don't panic message....

the e-whip is amazing in skill builds because you can deal damage while being at safe spots. double throwing knifes is amazing too if you're not up against bosses LUL
NL. Two tips for you.
1. Explore as much as you can
2. Use teleporters
NL, fully exploring the early floors does wonders for you in the later floors. Stop blowing through the early floors.
