My 2025 M2 arrives this Saturday here in the U.S. ….and I got the auto! I am going to track the heck out of it and I am a traditionalist, but the auto is faster,no matter how much the whiners gripe! I like your review and it fits what I got from the test car I was able to drive a few weeks ago. I look forward to both daily driving it as well as the track.
If speed is your only focus, then you’re not a proper driving enthusiast. The Golf R dsg is faster than the manual. That didn’t bother me when I ordered mine so I bought the manual. Best move I made. I had so much fun with that car, especially driving through Wales - so much so that the 0-60 and pace compared to the dsg didn’t enter my mind - ever. The fun and involvement was the most important thing for me.
G87 is a 2 door coupe, RWD, 6 speed manual, that’s what a traditional sports car is with all the modern tech, that’s why I got it, I ordered at the right time since I get the LCI. It’s my 1 car garage, and wouldn’t have it any other way. I agree with that comment kind of sucks BMW did not include a 360 camera, and a m240i gets a 360 camera makes no sense to me at all lol. But when I drove the m3 comp, as my country only sells m3 in comp, and that car felt too fast for the street, I doubled the speed limit a lot with it lol, and being automatic made me feel less engaged because of it, as I find paddle shifting a gimmick. While the m2 it felt more fun at legal speeds, which to me is a big plus.
Well said, if you felt that he m3 is too quick to have fun, try older cars 😏 with even less. But yes you are right that with a manual you can really enjoy the drive without flying to space
I'm the same, I have the LCI coming this week. I'm actually quite annoyed with the recent BMW LCI program, many people buy a brand new car because they want the latest and greatest... so having a new LCI out only 1 year after the G87 was launched feels like a sucker punch to people who bought it already. A lot of people care about that, that's why they buy new. The G series M cars then got the completely new widescreen dash after 2 years which made the first 2 years of the M3/M4 look really really dated inside. Then...! I've just noticed they're now bringing out the new 2 series grand coupe with an even more modern updated interior, why does the regular 2 series have a newer more modern interior to M2 LCI which has barely landed from Mexico!? I'm so excited for the M2 though, I had the F83 comp pack from new back in 2017 and have missed driving M for a few years... decided to go for the Grigio Telesto with black wheels as I don't think that'll be a common option so I'm hoping I have a bit of a rare beast. Not many people will want to spend 3k for grey paint!
If you buy the car in the US, you can turn off the speed warning forever. I too, love that the car is quiet. I like to be able to converse with my wife without shouting or having to crank up the radio volume until my ears bleed. I love the active cruise control on the highway. It’s far more relaxing. On an easy drive, I get 30 mpg, so 50L is fine for me. The automatic is the best option on the M2…faster shifts, faster car. I’ve always been a stick shift person but after testing the manual, it was very vague and rubbery feeling. I hated it. In traffic, the automatic is the only way to go. For me it is a dream car…$70K. I can easily afford more but why spend $200K on say a Porsche Turbo S that in 2 months will be “Just your car”. The newness has worn off. And no one seems to care the care that the Turbo S only comes with PDK and no stick shift. I do wish the M2 came with surround cameras; had lane centering; had 600 hp; had better materials inside but then the price would be up with the M3/M4 approaching $100K. Enjoy the car as it is…a very fun driving car, and not electric with no sound, always hunting where to charge the car, feeling like an appliance, something that takes you from point A to point B and generically nothing more.
Great review and am looking forward to my new 2025 M2 arriving in a weeks time . After having a M550i for the past three years looking forward to getting back into smaller sports car again . Pleased to hear about the noise as with a previous M2 it was annoying the noise.
@ I think it’s every time you start the car 😑 Remove Before Race posted a video on his channel about how he turned it off on his m2 and if I remember correctly he used the My BMW app. Check out his ownership video on the m2 👍🏼
Hey Misha. I'm coming from a CLA45s 2024, I tried few days ago a new M2 and it was just perfect. About horsepower, do u find much difference from an M4? I tried one once and I didn't feel it different... also, interior quality was superior than my CLA45s...
The feeling of the horsepower will be very different if you are in an xdrive or a rear wheel drive. I only drove the m3 to compare not the m4, and it does feel quicker, especially from low speed accelerations.
Have you considered the f87 ? I asked because especially you were talking about small and short wheel based car. Then perhaps the f87comp or even CS is a bit too extreme for a daily , it's more suitable for as a 2nd car. And of course it's less new .... Regarding 09:30 , that's a mandatory security which started in 2022 or 2023 in EU. You might be able to disable it using BimmerCode or some sort or things like that but not natively. in 2024 started new security "features" which hardens the gas pedal when you go above the speed limit....
I owned the F87 back when it was first released, totally loved the car it also felt way more pure to drive than the new one, and as there is the new one I was quite looking forward to it. Annoying hah all those new regulations, really taking all the soul of our cars and turning them into beeping robots
Unfortunately for a DAILY. And the S58 is a better setup with the ZF. But ya. I've been going back and forth about manual vs auto.... but i ordered mine with the ZF
whenever I see a driver's car tested with an automatic, I also automatically skip; I paused the skipping part just to leave this message. Be a real driver, not a pretender!, automatic sports cars are for pretenders.
I have an M2 automatic. Because I also have a Mach 1 6 speed and makes bmw standards feel like pretenders lol so why double pretend? M2 automatic shifts great. I just hear wannabe

Congratulations mate! You will have a lot of fun with the car 🔥

I agree about the gas tank being too small.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Very very similar vision to mine about the M2 🤗😉
the smaller tank is supposedly for weight saving..but here we are talking about a 1.8 ton car so I agree with you
What is the colour called that you got?
Btw - you can move the head rest up and down. Push the electric seat lever up rather than forward.
Read the manual. The exhaust button works. You need to have it in the correct mode.

Apparently you have to hold the set button on the cruise control to turn off the speed warning bong 😑
Forever and ever ? Will give it a try !

Best car ever - definitely the dream 1 car solution
Indeed the car can do everything 😉

Still the best Misha!
Thank you !

It’s got to be your settings. My 2025 does not beep like yours. It only blinks to speed limit sign, no beeping.
Tried everything.. are you in the US?
@@MishaonWheelsyes i am. Thats probably the difference, your country must require this feature
Can never go wrong with an M car!
Agreed! Especially when it’s an older one 😂😉
Is this m2 reliable? Like being able to put over 150k+ miles on it?
If 10-15 extra liters is what makes tbis car priceless, its priceless lol
sounds little, but in reality difference is massive!
Amazing content 🫡
Thank you 🙌🏻
why not an RS3?
Personally never been a massive fan of the RS3, does lack emotion for me, also their new interiors are questionable imo
Might want to raise your seat up so you can see over the steering wheel. Just sayin'.
when you use all the budget for your first min of the video and then you get lazy. not Misha specific but hey ho. Congrats on the new car anyway
More of my time than the budget 😂
You drive an automatic!! lol
Unfortunately for a DAILY. And the S58 is a better setup with the ZF. But ya. I've been going back and forth about manual vs auto.... but i ordered mine with the ZF
hope you knew upfront that it is a mad ugly car
However does stand out imo, as I said in the video, all BMW exteriors take time to grow on us :)
The car has been out for quite a while now, he shopped it and eventually decided to buy it. Thank you for playing.
It'll stop being ugly once you look at it in person trust me.
whenever I see a driver's car tested with an automatic, I also automatically skip; I paused the skipping part just to leave this message.
Be a real driver, not a pretender!, automatic sports cars are for pretenders.
Agreed! I do also own a Porsche 964 C2 Manual in case you were worried 😉
LOL, I drive an "automatic" on the track. Maybe I'm a "pretender" but I'm still having fun.
so every f1 driver is a pretender? lol
I have an M2 automatic. Because I also have a Mach 1 6 speed and makes bmw standards feel like pretenders lol so why double pretend? M2 automatic shifts great. I just hear wannabe
