Dani not really used it to restore my pc from most malware like regfuck,memz using startup repair,cmd and other tools however windows 10 startup repair on the other hand............

@@anishboddu2727 i fixed my pc that wasn't moving or copying files doing that.
I repaired a dying hard drive with scannow. Died two weeks later but no fault of the command line, in fact performance improved for the few days before it died.. and pulled three weeks of constant troubleshooting with it. I had two VMs set up in the same day. It took me a week to finally get those new Nvidia drivers up and running. I had Windows 10 activated and dual booting Ubuntu 18.04. And the drive died overnight about two days ago. Recently ordered a new one so I can start from scratch
Edit: scannow did in fact slightly extend the lifespan of my hard drive

Windows 7 repair: Uh... We found out that 30% of all files are broken but... We fixed it 😐👍
Windows 10 repair: Well... One file is corrupted but i cant fix it lol, do it yourself

a few things:
- deletion of the entire registry and then rebuilding it = unregistering drivers
- im surprised Microsoft still stores activation data in the registry
- it takes 20 minutes because it is technically a recompile, the first boot wizard needs to sign all the keys
- What time is the convention gonna be?
- IDK, somewhere around {,17 PC...
- But that's not a real time!

So running sfc /scannow schedules a full repair, startup repair fixes everything that needs to be loaded at boot, so that the system can boot, load drivers, load the Win32 subsystem, and start services, nothing more. Then on the first bootup, TrustedInstaller gets run and starts an intensive repair. This takes a while, as there is a lot to fix. When TrustedInstaller finishes repairing, the computer goes to the login screen, and all should be repaired.
This is what my eyes do and then they delete eyeball 32 when my eyes are bleeding

if you don't have the admin password you could use any windows dvds, pick a keyboard layout, and click "Repair your computer". Finally, click Troubleshoot > Advanced options...

Don't crank up HKLM too high, you risk corrupting your password.

@@BestTH-camr893 Just crank up everything to 100% including "delet chance"; then your registry is just empty. Alternatively put the setting straight to 0% to have every key still read but garbage.

@@BestTH-camr893 Remember to have snapshots (alternatively just replica of the in-use image), third-party disk- or full registry backups as with a reg-f'd system using regular system restore or reset is all but impossible without some major hassle.

You can just copy the registry files over from a backup, wherever you'll find it, to the computer. If you don't have such a thing and run something higher than XP, then yeah your method is good. But if you are running Windows XP and have aInstall CD to go along with it, you can use the Recovery Console from the Install CD to restore the registry from System Reatore as seen here; th-cam.com/video/l0JI5wSvrXY/w-d-xo.html
