I think I know what's happening:
1. VMWare restores RAM contents of snapshot (not broken windows version in RAM)
2. It tries to restore the hard drive but it can't.
3. VM has drive with broken Windows and RAM of a working installation

Once again, Windows XP proves to be more stable than most later Windows versions.

this may be possible by creating two hard drives, corrupting one, booting back into the uncorrupted hard-drive, suspending the VM, renaming the uncorrupted hard drive to something random while renaming the corrupted one to what the uncorrupted one was named as, and then restarting the suspended VM

Where can i find the iso files of the windows?
Well, if no one has done or figured out yet, I managed to bug out my VM in VirtualBox with similar results (although not the same procedure as with VMware). I will be making a video of it, to be uploaded soon.
Edit: Turns out it won't be anytime soon.

I use file shredder to delete resource and program files folder on my vm windows 7 and it is still usable although theme and program files is gone

It is not working with VBox, because after restoring snapshot it will revert the whole VM to it's previous settings
copy the HDD file before restoring, then swap it out afterwards

yea thats normal, if you disable automatic restarts you'll see that essentially forever until you restart manually
I had this happen to me a few months ago on a physical machine. I usually hibernate Windows. That time, I had forgotten to eject my SCSI dock and just switched the drives before turning my computer on a day later. It acted like it still had the previous HDD connected and attempted to load different data. Resulted in a BSOD and I had to ``chkdsk /F`` on that disk. Fortunately I didn't lose any files, but it seemed like I had.
I tried to remove the SATA data cable and SATA power cable while the PC is running
Data corruption are nightmare of any user.

Really hard to catch it on normal speed
I tried making a program that would redirect disk accesses in Win95 to RAM. Apparently there were bugs with it, the system became unstable.
Also interesting was when I had the disk writes do nothing, but report success to the OS. That actually didn't crash, but files you created would disappear later.

Hey Enderman, can you teach how you make your VMs so we don't mess up our PC's? I'm afraid I'll accidentally spread WannaCry or something
If it spreads within wifi, it spreads to the host, and there are really important PC's on my wifi and it would spread to family
i know im late but im guessing he uses a vpn to avoid that
just try it on your mobile hotspot and it should only spread to the host of that mobile, giving an error when it runs since the code of desktop malware is different than the code of mobile malware. however im not sure so just test another virus that doesnt replicate itself when it is ran OR remove the line of code that makes WannaCry spread through your wifi
I think you can just disconnect the internet adapter thingy in VM's config, so your VM won't have access to internet or your local network. I would also recommend to physically disconnect Ethernet cable from your PC and disable file transfer between your host machine and VM, just in case if some stuff goes wrong.

Simulate the virtual hdd bad sectors with creating the fixed size vhd then corrupt it using hex editor!! corrupt the middle header.
