I can relate.. Bichons have so much separation anxiety.. Everytime he gets put in strollers and mom is a bit away from him or we are going somewhere he cries so hard!! 😭 I didn’t expect this to be that sad though..
I know… he wasn’t this bad when he was a puppy but I think it got much worse as we spent so much time with him at home😭 hope it will get better with the training!
I had a Bichon for thirteen years. His separation anxiety was so bad, he had to be put on Buspar. It is the same as Proxac. He has been gone many years now, I so wish I had known this was common in the breed.

How old is Som now? My puppy is 6 months old. When we leave for work, she goes in her crate sitting facing the door as we leave with that saf puppy look. And when we come home, she gets so excited when she sees me and just like Som she gets so hyper. I put her down to run around to release her high energy. She follows me around too even when I go to the bathroom. She used to cry when I go to the bathroom, so I leave the door open so she can still see me that I am still here and as time went by, she doesn’t cry anymore. She just wait outside of the door. She barks when I go upstairs and I tell her that I’m coming back. When I come back, she barks as if Where did you go? My fiancè said she only does this behaviour with me not with him. He wants so bad for our puppy to have this behaviour with him.
Wow! Sounds like your puppy is very well trained!!! Som definitely has stronger attachment with his mom too! Total mama’s boy!! He is now turning 3 in August! Can’t believe he’s already 3 tho 😭
@@SOMthingSpecial We left CC for the first time last thursday. My best friend puppy sat her for 5 days bec we left to attend a wedding in Hamilton, Canada. Its my first time to go to Canada. My fiancé and I also needed that break from her. My best friend said that she didn’t sleep on the first night bec CC was crying/whining/barking until 4am. So she let her out of her playpen. Now she just keep walking back and forth in the livingroom and her bedroom. We are heading back to Chicago now. We are picking her up
Oh my god! You baby girl would be super happy to see you!! 😆 I was away from town for 2 weeks for work and I missed my boy sooo much😭 i facetimed him everday!!

Awww.. your bichon is so lovely!! my bichon is quite independent and he doesn’t like to be hugged or touched that much. he’s only affectionate when i’m away for a long period of time. me and my husband are usually always home since we are now wfh. How can I train my bichon to be more affectionate?
It is definitely stressful to see how nervous they get whenever we leave the house 😭 but Som’s gotten so much better so hopefully your pupper will get better with trainings too!! Good luck❤️

When my bichon was rehomed to me, we crate trained him immediately. He is still super anxious, but no separation anxiety now.
