    Just ordered this Friday and the main reason I went with it over the 5200 was the weight. Home gym is shared with my wife and want things she can also handle and get into the position she wants.

    You mentioned a couple of times that most garage/home gym owners are using dedicated flat benches in addition to an adjustable bench. I'm not sure that's true.

    • @DampRaccoon
      @DampRaccoon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@GarageGymReviews Data would be great. For most that have two benches, it would also be nice to know why. Unless excess space/money, many might have ended up with two not by choice, but by gym build out evolution (e.g. starting with one bench thinking that just a flat or incline would satisfy their needs, but later finding they wanted incline back or that a cheaper adjustable/gap/etc. wasn't preferred for benching. So, knowing if one or two is preferred might be a separate question than what people have. Might place a different perspective on some review aspects but other than that, keep up the great work.

      @@DampRaccoon I am sure my wife and I may be the exception and not the rule, but we hsve 3 set up as different stations in our modest 600sqft basement gym. One lives in the rack, one is a db station and one is leg station. For some of us that have multiple people training at the same time and like having stations ready to go for super sets or time consuming to set up and break down exercises, multiple benches can be very valuable. Setting up your gym with the equipment you need in a manner that fits what is most important to you. For many cost is most important, for some others it is efficiency of time IMO.

Very easy to maneuver, feels solid, looks great, and I can stand it up to free up more space when necessary. Glad I exchanged the 3000 for this. Got the white as well.

    I just received my AB-4100. With all the positive reviews and recommendations online, I have to say I'm very disappointed. I didn't expect it to be as good as the commercial grade benches that they have at my gym but wow this thing wobbles. A lot. The ladder mechanism also makes noise as the bench wobbles when it's set to flat because of the double support design. I tried tightening the bolts as some have suggested online but it didn't help much at all. The problem is the frame itself is not stiff enough and it twists way too much. There are also some defects with the powder coat and stitch work. The only positive that I can say about this bench is it has the right height and the padding is nice. This will be the last REP product for me.

This is one of the most expensive interests you could take up.

      @@hitleractually8180 I almost agree. A lot of this equipment will last decades if not a lifetime so why scrimp? But I have saved money with my home gym. My rack is going on 20 years old and the entire family uses it. I have less invested in my gym than what a gym membership would have cost over 20 years for me alone. But in this case it's not really about the money. The 4100 is still a quality bench that will be nicer to use on a daily basis for most people. Heavy benches are annoying, and women and kids often can't deal with them at all. That's why I still have my old PowerBlock bench. It's not the greatest, but it's easy for everybody to use.

    I think the majority of home gym owners only have 1 bench, not a flat and adjustable.

    Wished they had 6 bolts on the longer pad and not 4 as the smaller pad. Make more sense to put more screws on the bigger pad for more durability.

    Regarding comparisons, I'm not sure it's fair to call it most similar to the ironmaster, especially as you highlight all of the Ironmaster attachments that REP doesn't have.
    Also doesn't seem fair to include Rogue 3.0 in comparisons (higher quality) with Ironmaster (low quality, but attachments) but leave out the Prime sitting in there (high quality, decline, attachment options).

    • @GarageGymReviews
      @GarageGymReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Prime is a vastly different price point. I compare the ironmaster due to price and weight of the bench. If I was looking for a bench in this price point, I would most be considering the AB-4100 and the Ironmaster and would select the bench I buy based on the fact of whether I'd use the accessories or not. So, I'm fine with the comparison I made.

    • @BrandonSchwartz1
      @BrandonSchwartz1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GarageGymReviews agree with Coop here. The Ironmaster super bench is exactly one I was comparing with these mid tier options.
      There’s so many benches that he’d have to do a video like he did on barbell collars where he groups them in tiers and then reviews each tier level typically based on price point.

    • @DampRaccoon
      @DampRaccoon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@GarageGymReviews I agreed with the "value" review until the Rogue 3.0 was brought into the comparison, and it was specifically stated that it was a better bench if you're willing to spend the money on it (when Prime is in that range as well). It made sense that the higher Rep was compared to, but not sure how Rogue's high-end option fit into this, and I just figured with attachment talk and that price range, a mention of Prime was fair to note (like you did with Rogue 3.0), but not truly compare.
      I see the REP AB-4100 as a great value bench, and the Rogue 3.0 as a higher quality/priced option. In the same way, I see the Ironmaster as a good value option with attachments, with the Prime being a top tier option that has attachments. Those are the comparisons I had in mind. Comparing the AB-4100 to Ironmaster simply based on price point + weight seems less important than price point + functionality.

    Hey Coop, GGR, for a true "budget" or cheapest bench, any plans to review the Fitness Reality 2000 Super Max XL adjustable bench? You already reviewed their power cage and was impressed with the durability for how cheap it was, maybe for those on either ultra budget or "lowest cost of entry but still good for beginners" type? Even though that one is rated for 800Lbs, more than this bench you glowed about, and that Fitness Reality when it's in stock at Amazon is anywhere from $175-$199. Please consider this, would lvoe to hear your thoughts!

      Yep. That and Flybird’s benches. More true budget stuff in the works. Heavily!

    • @tonya7699
      @tonya7699 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      much thinner gauge steel... not nearly as safe. Maybe that price range for a flat bench, but for a solid adjustable... $250-350 is a smarter choice... save up a bit more and get something good enough.

      @@GarageGymReviews Appreciate the reply. Saw the FLybird reviews, looking forward to more from Fitness Reality and Tru Grit. I will say as well as the Fitness Reality bench works for me, wanting a little wider and thicker back pad, I'm flirting with an upgrade. Have the Tru Grit FID Walmart clearanced out right now for $149.99 ($419 and sold out on Tru Grit's site, but somehow Walmart has stock ready to ship in less than 2 days to me), and it's definitely a better build, but whether it's the tri pod design, or just Tru Grit's design, there's so much side to side, where if I move left to right, the front AND back feet LIFT OFF. Looked at XMark 7604 for the option to add a leg extension, but the company said they discontinued the attachment straight up, so that killed that idea. Looking at this 4100 review again, and comparing to the 3100 review you just dropped to see what I need most and if I want to spend THAT much more when my Fitness Reality works well enough, minus back pad thickness/width. If I go that route, I'll use your affiliate links! Thanks for all the great content!

    Where did you get the Prime 3d printed piece from? Not even an hour before this video (I'm not kidding) I discovered I can use a bed riser platform thing for vertical storage, but would prefer something affixed itself. I had previously explored u-bolt type options but wasn't satisfied.
