I live in Canada and when I bought my car, I needed to have proof of insurance before I could take it home off the lot. I'm genuinely surprised more states don't do that. At least that would maybe stop drivers from running off since they weren't insured
Proof of insurance lasts only as long as the premium is paid. Sometimes coverage is only 30 to 60 days, then it lapses. Scofflaws that do this should be held wholly liable for the full damages AND insurance premium payments.
A number of years ago I arranged to purchase a used Mercedes. When picking up the cashier's check from my bank, they were absolutely flabbergasted that I asked to use their fax machine to send some documents to my insurance carrier, as I wasn't willing to drive that car uninsured. Now, when I buy a car, I just make sure to add it to my insurance via the app on my phone before I drive off.
Almost every state in the US by law requires you to have proof of insurance before driving off the lot. Now, I said by LAW. That doesn't mean some backwoods dealership or every dealership will follow that. They're in it for the money in that case. But every dealership I've been to has required me to have insurance before leaving with the car.
In New York State, it is required by law to have insurance on your vehicle at all times. Yet we see many out there on the roads, driving without insurance and many others without a valid driver license. Two dinguses rammed the back of my wife's car at two separate times and both had no insurance. The last time was back in 2010 and her car was totaled. My wife recovered.
@@superboats2 "dinguses" -- don't you think NYS should send deputies or troopers to the homes of these scofflaws to arrest the operators who have let insurance lapse?? or seize the vehicles?? Nah, can't be bothered, too much like enforcing the law.
Every driver in New York is ready to throw down at the slightest provocation. Gets really dahk in the cah when things go to fah. “You lookin’ at me? Funny? Funny how? Like a clown?”
New Yorkers LOVE making other people wrong, LOVE being the police. From driving in the left lane and refusing to yield to faster traffic ("I'm already going faster than the speed limit, so you shouldn't drive faster than me!") to bizarre road rage like getting out of your car and trying to settle things with a fist fight, New York drivers are only surpassed in their near total incompetence by New Jersey drivers. I miss Connecticut, but I don't miss having to deal with NY/NJ drivers.
I understand where you're coming from, but I am a NYS driver, and I promise you, I do none of those things. I have been driving for over 40 years, and I have driven in places that many people only get to read about, like down in Antarctica. I always have my brain in gear before my vehicle is.
Let #33 be a lesson to never pursue an obviously erratic person, even if it’s for their license plate number. Especially if you have a dashcam which is all you need for insurance to pay out. This is America, you never know if someone has a gun. Can’t believe the driver thought it was a good idea to follow the black SUV with a child in the car. I feel bad for them, but ultimately this is what happens sometimes.
The truck in #5, I need those lights when someone is behind me with their brights on. I get so tired of people blinding me that I have thought about installing mirrors to reflect their headlights back at them. Can't claim it would be a safety thing since their bright ass lights are impacting my ability to drive.
I was thinking the same thing. Initially, those lights were so bright, I thought he was driving backwards. They would indeed be ideal for tailgaters....my number one pet peeve.
#7 an insurance scam gone wrong because the guy never touched the guy's bumper. But I would sue him for falsely filling out a report of an accident that never happened and own everything in his life.
@@shamusomalley4263 fr XD so many people in these comments like "I'd sue him for everything he's worth for falsely filing a police report". Uhhh no, you're gunna get laughed away from the window at the courthouse when you try and file that suit. No collision, no damages, no civil suit.
There should be some way for authorities to identify which cars are uninsured and impound them until proof of insurance pre-paid for at least one year is provided. In CA they simply won’t renew the annual registration if not insured but people who don’t care about insurance certainly don’t care about non current registration. 😡
There IS a way in NY to identify if a car has insurance! I have never driven my car without insurance but one day I was driving my other half’s car. I was stopped by a police woman who said the car was showing up with expired insurance. Sure enough, he paid the insurance the day after it was due but there’s a 24 or 48 hour lapse time before the renewal kicked in (or something like that - this was at least 15 years ago). My point is, she knew it had lapsed by the license plate reader. Just had to go and bring the proof of insurance and all was good. That scanner is easy for them to identify who has no insurance without even stopping the vehicle. 🚔👮🏻

The person in the car has the upper hand and standing in front of their car yelling is just asking for it. It’s never that serious. I just think everyone is just crazy nowadays.
People take the littlest things as targeted deep personal attacks. It's insanity. Some random stranger drives like a jerk or merges into your lane in a fashion you disapprove of, and suddenly your day and mood are consumed by their misdeeds. And that's a mild outcome. Many times their transgressions are so severe that they must be addressed by you committing misdemeanors and sometimes even felonies! All over a stranger driving like a jerk or carelessly. I get the feeling that way too many people pretend to be or wish they were cops.
I shouldn’t be so surprised because of how awful people are now days….but I’m always flabbergasted at how many people lie about the events of an accident. They’d rather ruin someone else’s finances and driving record just to save themselves from their own stupidity. Also I’ve had 2 close calls with 18 wheelers in my life, both times being run off the expressway onto the shoulder of the road. Both times it was FedEx semi-trucks that did it.
@@jabbedcrab It’s hilarious you said that. I was just telling someone today @work that in my lifetime I’ve had two incidents on the highway. For the guy who disparaged women drivers: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that men cause an average of 6.1 million accidents per year in the US, and women cause 4.4 million accidents per year
Also, male drives statistically are a part of more fatal crashes, while women are a part of more ‘fender bender’ type crashes. it’s just funny to me whenever people shit on women drivers, as if women are the ones that pay more for car insurance.
Women are just more scary doesn't mean they are better drivers it just means that men are unafraid and lash out more when driving same way women lash out more emotionally and are Karen's in public. Did u also get the number of female Karen's vs male Karen's? 🤔

#12. You can get a ticket for going under the speed limit.Unless the weather is bad.Besides it’s really irritating to other drivers.I hate break checkers but I feel his anger.
Cammer is driving about 25mph in a 30 zone. You can see the speed limit sign at 9:15 and there is another one just like it about a half mile back from the start of the clip. Yes, that's annoying but I cannot imagine any cop giving a ticket for that. It is also only about a third of a mile to the turn off for the main Blvd that runs parallel so that other driver was literally just saving 10-15 seconds. The road they're on ends in half a mile so there isn't any other place to go. Someone who is so impatient that an extra 15 seconds bothers them to the point of brake checking shouldn't be driving.
Cammer needs to learn to use his pussy pedal. Depending on how busy the road is driving under the posted speed can constitute a traffic impediment and you can be ticketed for it
Unless she was overtly and dangerously impeding traffic or there is a clearly posted mandatory speed minimum (neither of which of are the case in this clip), driving under the speed limit is not a ticketable offense. Please learn the law before you get behind the wheel next.

Every driver in New York is ready to throw down at the slightest provocation. Gets really dahk in the cah when things go to fah.
“You lookin’ at me? Funny? Funny how? Like a clown?”
I’m pretty sure New Yorkers pronounce the letter R.
Don't even need to watch the video I live in New York and have all my life just know this video is 100000000% accurate.
15:35 Never thought I’d see someone else from Bay Shore. The one guy swerving and the other one jumping the train tracks is an insane combination.
1.4 is wild - They went right at the busiest time turning both ways LOL LOL
The truck in #5, I need those lights when someone is behind me with their brights on. I get so tired of people blinding me that I have thought about installing mirrors to reflect their headlights back at them. Can't claim it would be a safety thing since their bright ass lights are impacting my ability to drive.
I was thinking the same thing. Initially, those lights were so bright, I thought he was driving backwards. They would indeed be ideal for tailgaters....my number one pet peeve.

#6 The sheer number of traffic lights over that intersection would confuse anyone.
from that angle possibly
I travel there often. It’s normal amount of lights and you can clearly see which one is yours.
lol if that confuses you, you should not be driving.
I lived in NY for 48 years until I finally had enough and moved to State 48 (Arizona). I don't miss the Buffalosers one bit!

18:50 that makes me so sad that the family is dealing with so much BS. How can they deny you of surgery AFTER WATCHING THAT VIDEO?!?!? I wish ppl realized that they aren’t invincible. Why get out of your car in a rage when someone can easily pull their gun out shoot you?

Also
I’ve had 2 close calls with 18 wheelers in my life, both times being run off the expressway onto the shoulder of the road. Both times it was FedEx semi-trucks that did it.
I’ve always had bad luck with FedEx too. They hit my car and kept going :’)
@@jabbedcrab It’s hilarious you said that. I was just telling someone today @work that in my lifetime I’ve had two incidents on the highway. Both times I was cut off & put on the shoulder of the road to avoid being hit. Both times it was a FedEx 18 wheeler. One was a regular semi truck the other was a semi pulling two trailers. I think FedEx stands outside the DMV and recruits drivers who’ve had their license revoked. Total clowns 🤡
What IS surprising is that here we are in the 21st century and there are cameras virtually everywhere and yet people will still cause an accident and try to lay the blame on the other driver(s), thinking that they'll get away with it, especially insurance fraudsters.
@@superboats2 I 100% agree with you on that. I’m just not the sort of person who could put someone else through hardship and financial difficulties for something that I caused. I don’t see how people like that can sleep at night. The guilt would eat me alive.

Ha ha, you know the guy locking up the brakes and smacking into the vehicle is the same guy that says he can stop faster without ABS. Sure, until you panic brake and forget everything you ever learned about driving.
2:40 Did you mean throw or threw?
Remember that turn signals provide intent NOT right of way
26:25 Admit it Cammer, you weren't passing anyone, you were camping.
I’ve been driving in nyc for 16 years, 10 years driving a 26foot box truck and May god be my witness that nyc has gotten far worse with the amount of idiots behind the wheel now. No respect for common 4 wheel vehicles now imagine the kind of bullshit us truck drivers with air brakes go through?
#12 8:59 The red car was obviously in the wrong here. However, I can sympathize with their anger since even the cammer admits they were going under the speed limit! It is so frustrating when you're trapped behind someone doing under the speed limit because then you end up going even more slowly than they are! And as far as I could tell, there didn't seem to be a justifiable reason for the cammer to be going slow (such as bad weather), either.
In germany you can get cited for driving to slow and keepkig others from going the speed Limit.
his for a while, but you laid it out so well that I will get this done very soon. We keep our savings “sub-funds” in our personal finance software anyway. Great video!
For the guy who disparaged women drivers: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that men cause an average of 6.1 million accidents per year in the US, and women cause 4.4 million accidents per year
I think the reason for the disparity is that the male drivers are trying to avoid the crazy female drivers . . . ;)
Also, male drives statistically are a part of more fatal crashes, while women are a part of more ‘fender bender’ type crashes. it’s just funny to me whenever people shit on women drivers, as if women are the ones that pay more for car insurance.
That same page you visited also says that woman cause more accidents per capita and they also drive over 6,000 miles less annually lol
Ànd somehow woman still are worse
Women are just more scary doesn't mean they are better drivers it just means that men are unafraid and lash out more when driving same way women lash out more emotionally and are Karen's in public. Did u also get the number of female Karen's vs male Karen's? 🤔
Way to go Jamestown for getting on the map!
#47: Not unusual for Fedex Ground... they frequently drive like maniacs. Most people don't know that Ground people are not Fedex employees.... it's a contracted service. If it says Fedex Express it's an actual employee, and I rarely see them driving bad.

#12. You can get a ticket for going under the speed limit.Unless the weather is bad.Besides it’s really irritating to other drivers.I hate break checkers but I feel his anger.
Dumbest comment I’ve seen today.
Depending on how busy the road is driving under the posted speed can constitute a traffic impediment and you can be ticketed for it
This is a residential street with pedestrian crossings, he wasn’t going that slow
Unless she was overtly and dangerously impeding traffic or there is a clearly posted mandatory speed minimum (neither of which of are the case in this clip), driving under the speed limit is not a ticketable offense. Please learn the law before you get behind the wheel next.
Nice. I've been to New York once. Once.
