Feeling safe enough to be honest, Tony spills one of the great loves of his musical life, the baffling sinister sidewinding behemoth, otherwise known as Mark E. Smith and the Fall. Tony ranks ALL the records (excluding the MES spoken word releases) from all the groups from the Sackmasters' beginnings with his childhood friends after being laid off the dock in Manchester through various brilliant incarnations of the band with countless musical contributors. Mark E. Smith takes us through periods of self destruction, firing a sound man for eating a salad, and other insanity oft times performed under the influence of of copies amounts of bitter, whisky, speed, or any combination of the above. Mark E. Smith was a singular radiating jewel, able to survive all of this and deliver consistent innovative work under both economic and musical limitations. Truly one of the all time greats, Tony humbly ranks the albums of one of the greatest musical artists to ever live, and one of the least to be recognized as such. "My Kind of guy", we miss him very much. This video is also dedicated to the memory of a beloved cat, son, and baby brother, Cleo Compass Rogers (2008-202)
