@@DeathScorpianWasn’t aware of any OCG/TCG differences. There’s to my knowledge short board vs max board rules, and depending on which you summon fewer monsters for a faster game, yet max board allots you 10 monsters each.
@Bmanritchie Thank you for the reply. I knew about the short board rules due to the Team APS vid and I know the GBA game goes with the big board rules. That's about my extent of the knowledge of the differences.
Thanks! I’m really happy with how they turned out. I think the tiles are the toughest thing to recreate from the original. They’re also not easy to find sold separately.
I want this to be brought back so much. I used to play the game boy advance one for hours and enjoyed it immensely. Would be pretty sick to bring it back as a mobile game like Master Duel.
you can mix up the dice you roll, you can roll any three dice, and if any two have Summoning Crests, a monster of the lowest level crest can be summoned. You could roll 2 lv1 dice for the easy summon, and roll 1 lv4 dice for resources
True, since we generally always want to be able to summon something, rolling all 3 the same level makes the most sense to have the maximum chance to get 2 summon crests
I’m commenting early in the video so I’m not sure if you go over these rules BUT when you rolled 3 level 2 summon crests you said you could summon a level 3, so my question is if you’re able to get 3 level 4 summon crests (I know it’s astronomical to get) is there a ruling for that?
Dude, this was excellent. This is what Dungeon Dice Dimension is missing. This was a high quality recording. It was clean. It was well edited. I have no complaints. Hope you decide to make more of these in the future. Edit: 34:10 How did you move Buster Blader through your Armed Ninja? Edit 2: 46:13 And how did Thunderball move through Rock Ogre Grotto #1?
Hi thanks for the comment! I enjoy watching their videos but I can agree that there’s a slight lack of polish. After editing this though I can see why one wouldn’t want to go through that every week. I might potentially make another video in the future when I move into a larger space and have a dedicated board game area. For your questions, in the DDM rulebook under “Advancing” on page 15 it states you are allowed to move through your own monsters but not your opponents.
@@Justgottaadamup I hope you do make videos in the future. I'd love to see them. Thanks for answering the questions too. I read that book a few times, but I don't recall that rule. Doesn't make much sense in my opinion, but rules are rules.

does each monster give different amounts of crests like it did in the gba game? are there other differences between the gba game and the real life version of it?
The GBA game is directly ripped from the Japanese ruleset where each monster has a specific dice with unique crests. We play the international ruleset that gives each player the same dice levels 1-4. JWittz has a video explaining it pretty well.
@@Justgottaadamup oh, ok! which one between the more complex japanese ruleset and the international ruleset did you find to be the most balanced/most fun out of the two?
@@x10creeper52I personally enjoy the international ruleset. When I played the GBA game, they also included type advantages (i.e. Warriors get an attack boost against Dragons) i found it too confusing and too much to keep in mind. I like the simplicity of DDM as it was presented in the international release.
I got all the figures over time all from eBay. I was able to find a few figure lots or negotiate a better price from sellers who had multiple listings if buying in bulk. You can get a decent collection still getting figures around $20-$40 each but stuff like the Japanese exclusive figures are almost all $100+
@@Justgottaadamup Wow, I didn't know those went for those prices. I have two complete sets plus a bunch of other monsters like BEWD, Exodia, Mighty Mage and others...
I’m not sure exactly what you mean by layouts but the playmat, figures, dice, crest counters were from eBay. The dungeon path pieces we made from paper.
The unfortunate thing with DDM is that the gameplay is slow and essentially stale. By slow, i mean you must do dice rolls every turn and usually just do 1 or no actions in a turn. You basically turtle until you know you can sweep your opponent in 1 turn. Only occasionally moving if a new oath opens or your opponent has a threat on board that can break yours
I have also found the most effective strategy is to make a T at your base so that there is only 1 open spot and park a monster or 2 depending on the game then to make an almost straight line to your opponent. After connecting to your opponents pieces then you branch out to stop their dimensions from being played. Ignore all their monsters until you are ready to win the game unless a monster would negatively impact you. On the GBA, you essentially just play level 1 stat boosters and occasional level 2 and turbo through everything. Not much an opponent can do if each of your mons has 50+ stat power
“There’s a dungeon dice monsters community??” Was my first thought.
We are but a humble group of individuals! lol
LOL SAME!!!!!!!!
Literally
Dozens!!!
There is definitely me and the NPCs in the GBA game.
this game was so much fun. It truly needs to be brought back
I think a Nintendo Switch GBA remaster would be awesome!
@Justgottaadamup i would pay 10 bucks a month to play it online
NO WAY THE DUNGEON DICE MONSTERS COMMINUTY IS REAL
Whoa! You play with Blast Lizard being able to destroy from anywhere in the dungeon. I used the 3x3 rule like in the GBA.
I’ve yet to face a Blast Lizard in the GBA so I didn’t know about that ruling! Definitely sounds more fair than being able to do it from anywhere.
Ban blast lizard 😂
this was underappreciated, at least it had a great GBA port
I do love the GBA game, I just wish it played by the international ruleset as opposed to the original Japanese rules.
@@JustgottaadamupAs someone who is barely getting into DDM, is there that much of a difference between international and original Japanese rules?
Just wish it a ps2 game cuz would of absolutely loved playing it like I did with duelists of the roses & capsule monsters

Sad it was overshadowed by Yugioh DM.
It's like Dungeons & Dragons but with Yugioh.
Wow! This was better beyond the starter pack.
If they made this game today, I could see there being companion app with the monster’s abilities and a crest/life counter
enjoy the video my man 🙌 love the playmat and the dungeon tiles very awesome and unique

I liked this a lot! A little on the "quick" side, but other than that great job. Nice edits, nice setup, and some good old fashion DDM.

eBay

Where did you get the materials/ set to play and the mat?
Everything was collected over time on eBay except the dungeon path which we made.
I'm sorry if it was stated in the video, but those tile pieces look so crisp. Did you make them?
Yeah, we took colored card stock, printed the tile pattern on it, then used a Cricut cutting machine to cut them to fit the squares.
that's Duke Devlin's idea i can't believe it's a real thing in real life COOL how much does it cost !?! any idea's !?
You can find starter sets on ebay for like $50

The mat was from eBay from a seller named Dimension_the_Design. There are other people selling playmats too. The path piece, we custom made ourselves.
