Hello, welcome to Sweden. Hope you will enjoy your stay here. It is very interesting to hear how others experience us, Swedes and our culture. Someone that I myself take for granted and may not even see. Because it's so common just for me. Finally Welcome.
Being from the north of Sweden I think that people in Stockholm are so stressed and always walk so fast! You are in Swedens largest city så it’s calmer elsewhere. Welcome to Sweden and I hope the dark winter don’t scare you away.
Great video Lucy! 🔥 Sweden is the place that I've always been most excited to visit because I feel it fits my personality so well and a lot of my favorite bands I listen to are from there! The language sounds cool, people are laid back and cool, and also it seems like this is the only country that isn't super restricted with this whole Covid thingy... Although I haven't fully decided on if I want to live here permanently, I do intend on visiting there sometime within a year or 2 when I'm more independent. 😄 I guess for me, the only thing I'm worried about is being able to meet new people when everyone is kinda in their own world and to themselves. This can be a good thing for those who live there, but I feel like I would want to have a small group of guys and/or gals to hangout with here and there. I also recently heard that for some people, it can get depressing during the winter when the days get shorter and is often dark out. Have you experienced or felt this personally? There are a few other places I would like to visit as well, but I feel like Sweden is the place I would like to visit most, aside from those 2 things which might be somewhat of a deal breaker. Curious to know your thoughts 🤔
Im from Sweden and you should not worry about getting to know people and having a group to hang out with, I'm not really that Forward going and I still manage to make new friends, sometimes some of them are newcomers that just moved here and we have so much to learn from each other and we have really fun! And what you said about depression during winter is true, iv'e gotten depressed a few winters but by enjoying the little day Light we get and taking vitamins i manage to be happy even in the darkest month of the year ☺️
You prolly dont care but does any of you know a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost my password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Caiden Kenneth I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
It's interesting to hear your experience and opinions so far in "the country of the moose" as a German would say, the country of the free wild nature (under responsibility), the country of "surströmmingen", that one is an experience 😉. Very welcome here 😉🤗 I sincerely hope you will enjoy your time here. I'm looking forward for your next video 😊 /An always open and welcoming swede that is not always so swedish.
If you want to get looked at you can wear colourful clothes here. Now its right about autumn, then people still wear black but add like brown and dark orange or different dark colors in patterns lol. You will also need a fashionable scarf in Stockholm when autumn or winter (not when too warm of course)!
Hi Lucy! I'm an American in NYC, researching life in Stockholm and love your channel! :) My main concern is making friends... What is your experience or what have you heard?
Well the public transportation system only work in that way in the major cities. In most areas the system are syncronized with the schools. Where i live (not very far from Stockholm) you must have one or two cars if you live in the countryside. The people living in Stockholm (who mostly (99%) move there resently) have a totally different way of life than the rest of us living outside the area.😉🙂
Hej Lucy! I will be moving to Sweden, hopefully too soon🎉 I'm still waiting my residence permit. I got married my Swede man just this year❤ Im Filipina from Philippines❤🎉
Great video! I'm happy you enjoy your first experience of Sweden. [edit, removed my comment on Allemansrätten, since I saw someone below had already adressed it and you seem to have been reading up on it yourself as well.]
Welcome to Sweden. Allemansrätten. Freedom to roam. You are entitled to roam almost anywhere you like in Sweden’s countryside and forests. But access rights do not extend to houses and gardens. So the backyard isn't a part of allemansrätten. Just so you know :)
Thank you! I just taught allemansrätten to my students and now I understand it much better. I was more emphasizing the ability to go to all these beautiful nature reserves ! Sorry I misspoke.
The information out there is not clear, it changes every day. Are regular tourists allowed to go through airports? Or at least in Sweden, specifically. Did you go with a regular tourist visa? Did they bother you with questions like "Why are you coming here at this exact moment?" and things like that? Or are they only allowing citizens to pass through? So confusing. . I mean, I see that they resumed selling plane tickets again, but the government sites there say "travel is restricted once again". But if the companies are selling tickets, my assumption is that I can go fine as a tourist.
Hey, thanks for commenting! Right now if you are in a high risk country there is a ban from Sweden to travel into the country. However, if you are essential personnel you are allowed to come over if you have proven that you are needed in Sweden. Therefore, no tourism is allowed from high risk countries but there has been plenty of people coming from other parts of Europe to visit. From my experience, I was questioned heavily about why I was here and why I had to work in Sweden instead of in the states. But I had proper documentation and I was allowed to get into the country without any real problems. What country are you coming from? That will help to determine if you can come into Sweden! Check their Migrationsverket websites and health websites for more information. Wish I could be a bit more helpful but I didn’t come over as a tourist!
So I have been looking to move to Sweden for a while. Did you get a visa? Im just lost on how to get my feet down in Sweden to start an education or work
Welcome to Sweden darling! let me know if you ever feel like getting out of Stockholm, we'll take a look around linkoping and norkoping :) show you the country-ish side of sweden
But Winter in Stockholm isnt really that bad, sure it gets cold and might come alittle snow, but its no where close to the winter in the northern parts.
Hopefully this corona shit is over by the time it get's dark so we're allowed to leave for a few weeks haha. Normally people in Sweden travel to Greece/Spain/Croatia/Thailand during the winter for 1-3 weeks to remember what daylight looks like 😂

Been living in Sweden for a year and I'm from Indonesia. I agree with your points! Hope you're having a good time in Stockholm!
You are right about social distance in Sweden. We want our personal space, the picture on the bus stop is correct.
Great video Lucy! 🔥

Not to forget that the Allemansrätten also includes several regulations and a huge portion of respect for nature. :)

Riktigt, men glöm inte städa upp efter dig. Kommer som man lämnar som vi säger i Sverige. Välkommen till Sverige Lucy Living Limitless.
Very nice country 👌 👍

Fantastic video, I'd love to have a fika with you
So I have been looking to move to Sweden for a while. Did you get a visa? Im just lost on how to get my feet down in Sweden to start an education or work
So you would need to start with a work visa or a student (studying) visa! It depends on the route you want to take :)
@@lucylivinglimitless8696 thank you!!!

Not going up to the bus driver is more a covid thing than a Swedish thing. You normally swipe your card in the front of the bus by the driver.
your perception of the place will change:
*winter is coming*
I have heard that winter is challenging but the summers are worth it!
But Winter in Stockholm isnt really that bad, sure it gets cold and might come alittle snow, but its no where close to the winter in the northern parts.
@@TheRaven2k It is not the cold or the amount of snow I am talking about. It is the many months of what feels like almost constant dusk.
If you’re lucky, there’ll be lots of snow this winter. It brightens up the place and it muffles the sound - even more peace and quiet, yay!
Cold and snow aren't that bad, all the slush (snöslask) is. I've met people from Luleå and Sollefteå that whine about the weather down here.
Love this video. Looking to make the move, too (hoping to teach as well). Do you have an IG where I can DM you some questions?
Hi! Yes my IG is luucydavies :)
Lucy Living Limitless thanks! Dm’d you :)
5:46 that is Finland not Sweden
Both in that case.
heey, new friend here ..i also have a friend in there...

Public transport is unexpensive? Uff. Stockholm is second most expensive city in world for public transport prices.
