Great video Darya, it’s always fun to see a place through someone else’s eyes. Growing up in Sweden I never realised how strange we are, but after travelling and living abroad I could see that we swedes have some weird habits😄
I don't recognize this much. I smalltalk with co workers and even complete strangers all the time. Sure some autists are offended by it (when I see that, I leave them alone), but most swedes seems to appreciate it.
Most of the facts you are mentioning are correct. However, there is also some inconsistencies and half truths in some of your statements: 1)If you need to take a seat in one of the busses and the only empty spots are next to somebody else, then by all means you should take the seat. No one will complain out loud because you cannot have private space in public transport. It just doesn't make sense! The no small talk rule on the other hand is totally true and it would make you feel uncomfortable no matter where you are so it is also some sort of common sense. 2) Well the thing is that you can make a living here without speaking Swedish at all. It depends on where you live and what you work with. And I think you also know that Swedish people are NOT really welcoming (a big portion of them at least) when it comes to beginner or intermediate Swedish speakers and that is why they tend to switch to English so quickly when they spot thick accents and grammatical mistakes, etc. Because there is an almost "eugenic" approach to how swedish should be spoken so that it can be accepted in the proverbial speech. So you can make an effort but it wont be appreciated or recognized until after a certain point. Therefore , it would be more useful for newly arrived expats to get informed about habits and norms of the swedish society that are not similar to their societies instead of the language.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me 😊 when it comes to stereotypes there are many exceptions of course, while we all have a personal experience! So take everything I said with a pinch of salt 🙌
How do you meet people/friends if no one starts small talk?
Most of the times it’s through groups of common interests and apps 😊

As a fellow Greek introvert i have to admit that I got reverse cuture shock returning to Greece after living abroad for 6 years 🤭
Δέν σέ έχουμε δεί έτσι ξανά. Η καλύτερη σου εμφάνιση.!!!!!!
Σε ευχαριστώ πολύ 😊
Just a general thought: Maybe it would be better for the algorithm if you changed the location tag in English
The tag is in English, it probably appears to you in Greek cause your TH-cam account is Greek! But, thank you anyways 🙏🏿

Well during the pandemic noone sit down beside or opposite you - 2 m apart is the corona-rule
Seems like a neurotic person will be having really hard time living there. Sounds like the black mirror episode with the social media rating 😂
Haha! I can see some resemblance here! Good point 😊
