as i''ve written before, watching Johnny's videos is like sitting and talking about games, movies and anime with an old friend, even though i've never met the person

Nostalgia is a drug I swear...makes you so happy then makes you sad. We just don't know how important some moments are in life when we're living in them.

Crazy how the early 2000s feels like a different era now, so much has changed technology wise. Love the throw back and seeing what you had.

This is what i appreciate about you Johnny, your stories about what gaming was like in the past (whether it be bwfore i was born, the 90's, or earlier, or later, i will always love hearing your stories of what gaming was like back then)

For all the young’uns out there, that was one high end tv that weighed a sold 120lbs. Homeboy dropped a good chunk of change for it and you better believe it was well worth it!

Rob looks like he's about to try and sell me a stolen tape player he stole from a car. I miss the 90's.

How Johnny doesn’t have 1 million subscribers baffles me

2000-2001 were some of the most magical years of my life. We lived in a small town outside of a major Canadian city at the time and I did long-distance learning over the computer. I remember how AOL instant messenger was installed on it. I've never had the internet before, but I never really had "small town" interests. I was fascinated by anime, doom metal, post-punk music and video games. I created an AIM account and it opened up a huge world for me and I made such amazing friendships, I remember all of my friends online would coordinate their Phantasy Star Online runs due to being in different time zones and the sleepless nights playing on an n64 on the crt while chatting with my friends about Gundam Wing and that yes, Final Fantasy 2, 3 & 5 were being officially released on the playstation soon.

Dreamcast gave me the best gaming memories of my life, such a revelation back then.

Dude, I was 23 in 2001 and we shared a lot of the same interests and seeing your game room was like walking down memory lane. Thanks for sharing!!!

The day FFX came out, I'd stayed up until 5am the night previous watching our first cut of Lord of the Rings for the theatre we worked for. I got to watch it 2 days before everyone else, which was unheard of at that time. I stayed up until 8:30am, went and picked up FFX and played it until 10pm that night when I finally crashed.

I was born in 2000 so I love all of this early 00s nostalgia. Reminds me a lot of the media I grew up with. Thanks for the video :)

This is so cool to watch Johnny. Your 2001 life is the life I'm living right now at 24. I have my first apartment which isn't the best but like you said, it's MY apartment. I'll make sure to take pictures so I can look back in 20 years and remember these times like you 😎👍

Lovely to see this period, I miss a time when not everything was just a click away on the internet. Yeah it's convenient, but I've always felt like we've lost something

1995-2005 were the last years I got blown away. my age at this time was 10-to 20. 36 now. Sadly 2003 onwards is when the 'WOAH' feeling in gaming started to phase out for me. :(
