The Wedding episode in season 6 Aunt Nell comes back. I can even picture the scene in my head where Nell comforts Lana and I believe we hear the You could be happy song or a different song.
The literal spanish translation of the line: Always hold on to Smallville is: "Siempre aférrate a Smallville"... but in the Latin dubbing of the Smallville finale Jonathan Kent says: "Y nunca olvides a Smallville" which means: "And never forget Smallville". But anyway, it's really cool that you guys try to say that line in Spanish, I'm sure the Latin American fans really appreciate it.
@jerodast I think Tom just has a super blunt personality sometimes but I take your point. I think Michael knows him well enough to let it roll off him...
I wish we could have seen more of Pete in Smallville. Loved his character. On another note, y’all are great. Super fun to watch & I love the honesty in your reviews.
I enjoyed the insights about this episode. Michael, I consider myself a manly man, but I wanted to hug you when you mentioned your mom sending you to school with oatmeal in your hair! Wow. It's amazing you turned out as caring as you did. Last May in St. Louis my wife and I wanted a selfie with you and you held my phone and took like 5 or 6 selfies. You are one of the good guys.
Haha, I wondered about the beeper too! The most cynical view is that's the only plausible way for Clark to impersonate the girls to make the climax work. But it also seems symbolic of a time when only important people had beepers, and JTT is a high achiever with a lot going on.
OMG, Rosey!!! That’s tough to hear about what your mother did to you. I had (still have) such a loving Mom and Dad so when I hear horror stories from other people about their childhood not being as great as mine, it kills me. WOW!!! I’m glad you can talk about it.
No, she only did the voice for the actress who played Lana and that was Jade Unterman. I guess they had Miranda Cosgrove dubbed the voice because the actress playing Lana was way too young, and probably couldn't get the lines right but she looked like Kristin so they kept her. She also returns in the episode Acceralate.
It's always so nice to see scenes with cliffs, falls, and tall dams for a show that mostly takes place in the fairly flat state of Kansas. Reminds me of The Office (US), where we occasionally see desert and desert plant life in Western Pennsylvania.
This is an enjoyable freak of the week episode. Jonathan Taylor Thomas played the two timer role really well. I like Helen’s character and thought her and Lex had good chemistry throughout their storyline. I really like how Clark stood his ground at the end with Chole and Lana for questioning him. Clark definitely can be frustrating throughout the show but it was pretty obvious Chole and Lana’s personal grievances with Clark clouded their judgement. This episode gets a rose from me 🌹
I had forgotten Helen and Lex met in this episode. I looved their chemistry right away, whereas later in the arc they get more caught up in just managing the relationship and butting heads and it's not as cute. Honestly best part of the episode for me, I wish the guys had talked about it more. But the moment at the end where Clark kind of confronts the girls was cool too. Clark is mostly in the right, although it is just kind of annoying that the not-really-romance with Lana is soo drawn out, which is partly his fault. Hard to separate the legitimate teen drama from the show pacing issues with that storyline.
Looking back sometimes I’m like “why did I ever watch this show & other times I’m like “this show is so badass” you just had to be there in the early 2000’s ♥️
I honestly thought this episode was pretty good. I think Clark needs to set the record straight with both Chloe and Lana (tell Lana loves her). Loved the acting and thought the concept of the idea of 2 boyfriends. Thanks for bringing Sarah on and love the podcast ❤️
Loved the line about stop treating me like a jealous boyfriend when we never actually dated, lol it really needed to be said...I feel like most of the girls' anger/resentment is just plot induced, makes no sense for them to be like that towards him esp after he keeps rescuing them.

Man. Aunt Nell still fine as f- Also Aunt Nell and Clark had a scene together where Lana and Clark nearly kissed in s1 and she walks outside the front door and interrupted them on the front porch of LANA's house, not the Kent's. Literally stopped Lana from cheating on Whitney. Good gal Nell.
I absolutely love this episode because of Jonathan Taylor Thomas, I had a major crush on him in the 90s - the 2000s and seeing him play such an amazing villain made it even better to me
I thought the final scene really had some great acting on Kristin and Allison’s parts. Clark’s words strike them in different ways. With Lana you can see her heart being broken (friend-zoned) but with Chloe she’s disappointed in herself and wants to be a better friend than she was. All this was portrayed and expressed without a word said from the girls explaining it. This ep was underrated because it dealt deeply with the relationships between the characters, imo.
@@thomasmadrigal3706i feel like Michael didn't miss it they just edited out any reaction he had OR he chose not to react for some reason. I feel like it might've hit too close to home for Michael.
For Clark catching Chloe, Superman has tactile telekinesis, so when he touched her, basically, she is now floating. That is why Superman can lift a car without the bumper just breaking off where he is holding it.
I enjoyed this episode, especially the end when Clark stands up to Chloe and Lana. I really appreciated that he actually stood up for himself since he usually just lets things slide and they tend to take advantage of his kindness. They're always talking about him keeping secrets but he doesn't owe them anything. They don't have the right to know his secrets any more than he deserves to know theirs. He's clearly a good friend and looks out for them so that should be enough imo.
@@Vixin24 omg I didn't realize I responded at all haha! Not an L. LOL! I agree -- Clark does not owe his friends his secrets and he's really patient with his friends, so I enjoyed him standing up for himself to them.
@@sabii8119 Haha 😂 alright then. And yep definitely. The whole insistence (by various characters) for him to spill his secrets is one thing that always bugged me. I would never do that to my friends haha.
In answer to Raj’s concern about Clark catching Chloe, they made up some comic book science in the comics to explain this. Superman generates an invisible aura of energy that is both the reason everything bounces off of him, and it helps him lift heavy things without them falling apart under their own weight. So this aura is what protects people from breaking apart when he catches them, or runs them around at supersonic speed. It’s also how he flies. Gotta love comics, when you can make your own science
Me and my best friend since middle school have watched the entire show together twice plus random episodes. We are 30 now. Nothing like being drunk in college, eating a pizza and watching Smallville. He owns every season. So glad to have found this podcast.
I think what's being lost in this episode (something i hadn't noticed in all of the times that I've watched this series) is that everyone's other side of their personality was highlighted to show the duality or dichotic nature that everyone has in them, even Clark. I mean when does he ever really stand up for himself when it comes to Lana. He usually takes the L, but this time he stood up for himself. When you look at the episode in that way i think it makes way more sense. Same thing with Lex and Johnathan.
So cool you guys had Sarah Jane Redmond on. She seems like a sweetheart. I couldn't get over the story about how they got the little actress who played Lana to cry. Wow! These podcasts are very revealing and well done.
Loved this episode of Talk Ville! Laughed so much! Great to see Aunt Nell. Also I liked that Ryan had his own questions. He should Have a question for Michael & Tom each episode.
@@jessieb4800 I think the whole crew was way off on the "Red" episode compared to fan sentiment. But this one...yeah I don't think most people think it's top-of-season haha. It has some headline grabbers with JTT, Lex meeting Helen, Lana moving in with Chloe, but the main story wasn't the best.
This episode of Smallville had its moments but the highlight of the week was the witty discussions between Tom, Michael and Ryan and of course Aunt Nell.
Amazing that you got Sarah Jane and also I have had this on DVD for around 15 years now and I honestly not until you said it did I get that “Mi Casa” joke 🤦♂️…so thank you Michael as always! Lots of fun stuff just thrown in around this episode, with nice new character arcs with the whole Lana/Chloe close quarters angle and Johnathan becoming incapacitated along with of course the crucial Lex/Helen storyline. However I do completely agree it was sloppily done as a whole with so many things trying to be inserted to progress the rest of the season however everyone pulled it off! Jonathan Taylor Thomas was a great catch for the show and he does some great stuff here as well along with in Season 3 😉. Bravo guys 👏 Also fun fact: Zachery Ty Bryan, JTT’s Home Improvement older sibling appears in “Witness” later on this season so keep an eye out for that 👍

Hats off to Emmanuel for also popping up in Saw 2! She was also in some show my teacher wrote where she abused Hayden Christensen, who was her stepson. She got range. I wish she was in more stuff.
Smallville is a comic book t.v. show so I watched it for amusement. It can be great at times but even if it doesn't make sense one can just laugh it off. A definite part of the rewatch entertainment value is seeing Rosie's intense reactions which usually crack me up!
Is it bad that I love when a not so good episode pops up because I really enjoy seeing Michael go off? One of the things I was slightly worried about when the podcast started was maybe everyone might sugar coat everything. Glad you guys are giving straight up honest opinions on the episodes. Keep up the awesome work. Also, Aunt Nell is still a babe.
If you thought Chloe was insufferable this ep, be prepared for the rest of the season. Remember they are in TENTH grade, lol. Relationships/feelings are really important at this age.
Shame! Chloe has the best character arc on the show and it would be far weaker had she not had some slightly antagonistic years after season 1. I much prefer this Chloe to "hopelessly pining after Clark even though he's in love with some boring girl who will play will-they-or-won't-they for 5 seasons" Chloe.
The story about how they got the little girl to cry in the pilot... at first I thought she was just going to say they had her bring her favorite doll and then had her mom take it with her off to the side which made her cry, which somewhat cold-hearted of me I was like "okay, the kid can deal with that". But for a mother to dangle it in front of her face and say "say goodbye, you'll never see it again. I'm never giving it back to you".... what is wrong with people? Jeez. lol Way over the top.
That story was shocking haha. Probably the most hollywood dark secrets thing we're gonna hear about the production. (I'm not counting anything any of the cast got into outside of the show...)
Aunt Nell and Clark meet on the porch in S01E10 after the blood drive - She tells him it’s getting late, sending him on his way and crushing his chance of a kiss with Lana…

You have a fascinating tan
@@ryanminaker157 😂 thanks man? I believe it was just the way the sun hit me on the day the pic was taken
Tom had no time for Ryan struggling to explain the scene lmfaoooo "You're down to two scenes" that killed me 🤣🤣🤣
Ryan's face when Sarah signs off... lol He so wanted to address the 800 lbs gorilla in the room. Michael was all business today. 🤣
I went back to watch after reading your comment and I laughed my head off. Thanks!
Literally can't see anything. What did he do with his face?
@@MomoSimone22 Can they edit it without reuploading? Because it's not there now. 😮 Just as they're saying goodbye, it came back to the wide shot I think sooner than it does now and Ryan shoots Michael a look that was like "wow, she's into you, bro", and Michael conspicuously ignored him. The person in the comment above you saw it so I'm not crazy, but I definitely feel crazy now. lol But right after Michael says "some significant things of note, watch how he suppresses a little laughter looking at Ryan and Ryan smiles and shakes his head. That kind of followed up Ryan's initial reaction. It really was funny.
Edit: Yes, they can trim after upload. I thought I landed in an alternate universe for a sec.
@@jdovma1 hahah! That's hilarious! I'm guessing that they realised that it might be bad to leave it in, so they must have removed it. I wish I could have seen it!
Finally, ´´aunt Nell´´ in the podcast! Awesome episode. I was waiting to see Rosey talk to her, and Tom teasing.
Seeing Michael and Tom every week is food for my soul.
Tom's glee with his hand on chest. Remembering the dead body fall on Pete. Talking about "This was the best scene" Had me in hysterics🤣🤣🤣
Best line in this episode, was Tom "Michael if you ever were in a long-term relationship." Boom!
That was a low blow from Welling 😂
I thought it was when Tom said to Michael, "What was the name of the episode?" 😂
Yeah cracks me up how we pop in and out of their therapy sessions sometimes. 🤣
Usually Michael does an aw shucks things when Tom razzes him, but this time he just blanked him :) Too low Tom!
@jerodast I think Tom just has a super blunt personality sometimes but I take your point. I think Michael knows him well enough to let it roll off him...
Finally! Aunt Nell! Hope Michael told her about his feelings... ♥️🥲🤧🤧🤧
You know we all been waiting for this lol
lol first thing I thought
I thought a one point Mike said he told her.
She said she listened to the episode with Kristin Kreuk, I wouldn't be surprised if he mentioned it there (but I'm not gonna go back and check haha)
at long last
I wish we could have seen more of Pete in Smallville. Loved his character.
On another note, y’all are great. Super fun to watch & I love the honesty in your reviews.
The storyline about Martha's job and Jonathan was what I enjoyed the most. Such a great team. Lucky anyone who would have parents like them.
cut to our little storytime with Sarah :) lord
I enjoyed the insights about this episode. Michael, I consider myself a manly man, but I wanted to hug you when you mentioned your mom sending you to school with oatmeal in your hair! Wow. It's amazing you turned out as caring as you did. Last May in St. Louis my wife and I wanted a selfie with you and you held my phone and took like 5 or 6 selfies. You are one of the good guys.
From “Stylish and practical” to “Can someone explain how a beeper works” Ryan was cracking me up. You guys are so much fun.
Haha, I wondered about the beeper too! The most cynical view is that's the only plausible way for Clark to impersonate the girls to make the climax work. But it also seems symbolic of a time when only important people had beepers, and JTT is a high achiever with a lot going on.
Yes! Funny!
I was too young to own a beeper so I only saw them in television. I assumed they were caller ID’s
OMG, Rosey!!! That’s tough to hear about what your mother did to you. I had (still have) such a loving Mom and Dad so when I hear horror stories from other people about their childhood not being as great as mine, it kills me. WOW!!!
I’m glad you can talk about it.
He's alluded to it before, but who knew so much more would come out in the Aunt Nell interview! The worst non-bio-parent guardian on Smallville :P
It always breaks my heart when Michael talks about how awful his parents had treated him, in his youth.
Crazy thing is that little girl they made cry was Miranda Cosgrove who went on to do Drake and Josh and iCarly
What kind of mother tells her little girl she will take her doll away and never give it back.😢😮
@@donna45The mother definitely didn’t do it for free
It's always so nice to see scenes with cliffs, falls, and tall dams for a show that mostly takes place in the fairly flat state of Kansas. Reminds me of The Office (US), where we occasionally see desert and desert plant life in Western Pennsylvania.
Loved how Clark told the girls that he would always look out for them, no matter what. FRIEND ZONE. Bam.
Pete was one of my favorite characters in Smallville. Every time, he never fails to nail the roll with his acting.
Hahaha so true. It's like my feelings about the show have two completely different sides to it...
I honestly thought this episode was pretty good. I think Clark needs to set the record straight with both Chloe and Lana (tell Lana loves her). Loved the acting and thought the concept of the idea of 2 boyfriends. Thanks for bringing Sarah on and love the podcast ❤️
what's your score?
@@TalkVillePodcast 🌹for the Smallville episode and 🌹🌹🌹 for Talkville :)
🌹🌹🌹
Loved the line about stop treating me like a jealous boyfriend when we never actually dated, lol it really needed to be said...I feel like most of the girls' anger/resentment is just plot induced, makes no sense for them to be like that towards him esp after he keeps rescuing them.
Can I say I’m so glad you guys did this podcast. I hadn’t rewatched smallville in a long time but you guys doing this made me want to rewatch and I’ve now surpassed you guys and I’m on season 6-this is the most fun I have had watching a show in a long time. There are SO many episodes I can’t wait for you to review. Thank you for doing this!
Oh man, I thought it was bad when I binged up to season 3 around the time the podcast was getting to the first season finale :)
@@jerodast oh man keep going season 3’s finale is a work of beauty! I couldn’t stop after watching it it’s SOOO good! Just brilliant suspense filled television! All the actors pulled through wonderfully but John Glover stole the show I couldn’t stop screaming after watching it! Can’t wait for these two to comment on it.
@@liz6377 Oh don't worry, I've already seen most of season 3 multiple times, and that ending sequence about two dozen times!
Man. Aunt Nell still fine as f-
Also Aunt Nell and Clark had a scene together where Lana and Clark nearly kissed in s1 and she walks outside the front door and interrupted them on the front porch of LANA's house, not the Kent's. Literally stopped Lana from cheating on Whitney. Good gal Nell.
I absolutely love this episode because of Jonathan Taylor Thomas, I had a major crush on him in the 90s - the 2000s and seeing him play such an amazing villain made it even better to me
Loved that you had Sarah-Jane Redmond on…keep those interviews coming they make the episodes more fun !!
Thank you for pointing this out!
Well said
Kristin Kruek is the GOAT when it comes to non-verbal face acting. She is untouchable.
Please don’t stop these! I promise there are so many fans that have no idea yet!!!!
Another great podcast episode to start off my Wednesday! Hope we can continue this for years to come!
Lol! Loved how Tom's jibe about being in a long term relationship totally went over Michael's head!
This is the comment I was looking for. Love bully Tom lol
@@thomasmadrigal3706i feel like Michael didn't miss it they just edited out any reaction he had OR he chose not to react for some reason. I feel like it might've hit too close to home for Michael.
Sometimes a less than stellar episode of Smallville makes for a great episode of Talkville! Very nice to see Sarah-Jane.
We need a "Damn, whose that?" T-shirt ASAP 🤣
For Clark catching Chloe, Superman has tactile telekinesis, so when he touched her, basically, she is now floating. That is why Superman can lift a car without the bumper just breaking off where he is holding it.
That explains how Chloe’s cousin can punch him and not injure herself
@@RedK5 No, "feminism" explains that, because the actual Clark/Superman has been punched numerous times and it's like punching steel.
@@rationalmuscle no it doesn’t
I enjoyed this episode, especially the end when Clark stands up to Chloe and Lana. I really appreciated that he actually stood up for himself since he usually just lets things slide and they tend to take advantage of his kindness. They're always talking about him keeping secrets but he doesn't owe them anything. They don't have the right to know his secrets any more than he deserves to know theirs. He's clearly a good friend and looks out for them so that should be enough imo.
L
@@sabii8119 you disagree or...?
@@Vixin24 omg I didn't realize I responded at all haha! Not an L. LOL! I agree -- Clark does not owe his friends his secrets and he's really patient with his friends, so I enjoyed him standing up for himself to them.
@@sabii8119 Haha 😂 alright then.
And yep definitely. The whole insistence (by various characters) for him to spill his secrets is one thing that always bugged me. I would never do that to my friends haha.
TGI Wednesday!!! Really like this episode and the special effects. Woaaaa Aunt Nell in the house!!! Love it!!!! Love you guys
I love your voice. I still have to buy your cds. I think your voice would suit old folk songs, like summer wine. Really beautiful voice.❤
That'd be awesome.
I watch the Patrons part every episode to see if Tom can say “Liliana” and “Leilani” this week 😂♥️
I love how snarky and sarcastic Tom is lmao and yeah he does interrupt but that’s mad funny cause we never know when it’s gonna happen😂😂
I low-key love how Rosey is high-key triggered by the bad episodes, and how he gives those disclaimers.
I live for it.
But I don't think this is a bad episode. I always listen to him, and think, "am I crazy? Am I too easy to please?".
@@jkhooverI feel the same way! I enjoyed the episode. I was really disappointed when he didn't like Red episode
@@jessieb4800 I think the whole crew was way off on the "Red" episode compared to fan sentiment. But this one...yeah I don't think most people think it's top-of-season haha. It has some headline grabbers with JTT, Lex meeting Helen, Lana moving in with Chloe, but the main story wasn't the best.
lol I know!! I think he gets triggered because he has this perfect memory of the show. 😅
the rage comes out sometimes. hide your meter maid cars
This episode of Smallville had its moments but the highlight of the week was the witty discussions between Tom, Michael and Ryan and of course Aunt Nell.
Tom laughing so hard at Rosie's oatmeal story 😂😂
Bravo guys 👏
Also fun fact: Zachery Ty Bryan, JTT’s Home Improvement older sibling appears in “Witness” later on this season so keep an eye out for that 👍
Michael was so excited to see Aunt Neil.
I gotta go off topic for a sec and say these podcasts are like the sun to Tom Welling. The man looks invigorated!!! He looks great!!!!!
9:02 I love how "Clark" Tom is about stop signs and 9:13 how "Lex" Michael was being about them🤣🤣🤣
Really enjoyed this episode. If possible you guys should try and get Jonathan Taylor Thomas (JTT) as a guest for the season 3 Asylum, would love to see it !
TW’s comment to MR about long term relationships made me choke.😂 I love the dynamic and humor of this podcast! I❤Talkville.
JTT!!! I remember this episode Lex taken the 9 Iron classic and Clark being awesome at the end with that Smile 💙❤️ lol Aunt Nell!!! Special Guest!! Michael is Smiling away 🤣👏 🌹 "Always hold on to Smallville" Love you guys 🤘
Ayyyyeeee shoutout to Tom for a being a A1 Wingman for Micheal bringing up how nell and lex should've had more scenes together lol.

i would've loved aunt nell to be around when clark and lana were dating around season 5 or any of the other times they were dating. i would've loved to see her reaction and be there for lana. sarah seemed really easygoing and pleasant. can't wait for her to come back
Rosie cracking himself up with that Activation joke is so funny to me 🤣 God bless this channel
Hats off to Emmanuel for also popping up in Saw 2! She was also in some show my teacher wrote where she abused Hayden Christensen, who was her stepson. She got range. I wish she was in more stuff.
She was also in two and a half men
She was Madison in season 2 of Supernatural
I liked Chloe season 1. Season 2 on, not so much.
Video games and not missing Smallville was more important to me
She was never “insufferable”. She’s one of the best characters on the show. From season 1 to season 10. She was always great!
@@Kevmaster2000 everyone has different opinions
It was like a 5 second scene. She was probably immediately given the doll back and got over it. It ain’t that serious lol.
I thought she was going to say they pinched her or something. Idk if what they did was worse or not tho lol
You need a Talkville shirt that says "Damn, who's that?"
Do it with a drawing of a dead guy falling and Sam’s face with a “Damn!” face.
I agree 100% I'll buy that shirt for sure
Aunt Nell and Clark meet on the porch in S01E10 after the blood drive - She tells him it’s getting late, sending him on his way and crushing his chance of a kiss with Lana…
Never clicked on an episode faster! JTT on Smallville is a core childhood memory for me lmao
thanks for bringing Aunt Nell, she was lovely... greetings from mexico
"Damn. Who's That?" Part 2. Holy shit I cracked up when that scene came up because I just KNEW "Damn, Who's That" was gonna be referenced again.
I watched ALL (10) seasons of Smallville on the WB. I subscribed to Hulu now and started over from (S1 E1) I'm at (S4 E1) "Crusade" and I have to say...that episode rivals some Hollywood movies in quality and CGI. The arc on that episode for the series is incredible! I love Talk Ville Podcast! Keep up the good work!
Tom's "If you'd ever been in a long term relationship.." jab at Michael was below the belt man! And then the grin! ROFL! These guys are real friends. Guys do this all the time! Love Talk Ville!
11:40 It almost sounds like Tom is making a dig about Michael's relationship history.
"Well, you know, if you've had a long term relationship, you'd understand..." 😏
Another great episode guys, another hour of enjoyment. I was also in shop class/woodworking and I made a wall clock that my mom treasured more than anything I ever bought her. Thanks for the spark on a great memory and starting my day off great. I'm going to take a leap and say that Rosey will like next week's episode, as I think it really is. It has an awesome storyline, they go new places, and it keeps you wondering throughout the entire episode...😊

I love this podcast. It’s the only podcast I listen to completely. I can’t wait for the older episodes especially ones that involve the Justice League
Hopefully you guys have Emmanuelle Vaugier (Dr. Helen Bryce) on the show, she was a great character, and certainly one I had a crush on.
I wouldn't mind her being a multiple time podcast guest :) I thought she was one of the best long-running recurring guests of the early seasons. But obviously 3x02 would be the perfect time to bring her on. Rutger Hauer is no longer with us so there's an open guest slot
@@jerodast how the hell could I forget her........ damn.......who's that. No seriously, I remember hearing Michael talk about Emmanuelle Vaugier on the episode commentary for the Season 2 finale that she put chili beans on his toilet once.
