I’m dead serious when I say that this might be the best piece of general aviation filmography ever put out to the public. It absolutely captures what GA stands for and really shows the sense of community between all of us pilots. I loved every second of this and if anything it reaffirmed my love of backcountry and commercial aviation. Looks like I picked the right lifestyle!
You know it's a close-knit community when you have the champion that just got dethroned cheering on the guy that dethrones him, and also the new champion not even celebrating his own win, but Trent's more than respectable 2nd place finish. After watching your video from last years High Sierra Fly In I've literally been waiting all year for this one to finally be uploading! As a grown man this video made me chock up. I haven't flown for 4.5 years now (wife, son,work... you get it) this is what makes me still love it and want to come back! Thank you!

So uplifting to see guys engaged in heavy duty competition and still constantly demonstrate love and respect for one another, even cheering each other on. I'll take that over the puffed up NFL any day of the week and twice on Saturdays. Loved it!
Sometimes I think youtube has gone down a bit, but then I come across a channel like this with Trent sharing these genuine experiences with so many people and it reminds me of all the good. An amazing project and that Rotax 915 IS seems to be everything that it was alledged to be. I have one question, How is a Custom Wilga with over 700HP racing with other aircraft that has 1/5th the power it has?
It also has three times the weight. Without that prop beta mode, that race would have been *much* closer, IMHO. I wonder if there is a prop that can do beta for the Kitfox... :-)
High Sierra, Definitely #1 in my bucket List!! Thanks to the complete Flying Cowboys team who inspires many us to keep pushing on ourselves to accomplish our goals related to aviation and for making this event possible to keep aviation FUN. In my very personal case, watching this videos where there's people doing what they love and enjoying it while being surrounded by their best friends and families makes me say: "Hey! I want to fly there with my little boy and enjoy my weekend with this guys!!". This is exactly what I want to transmit to him. Do what you love to do and share it with those who you love. Working on my PPL so hopefully we can be there soon. I wonder what's the motivation for Trent and the rest of the team.....
Believe it or not. A company has made a turbine that can fit in light sport aircraft it's called the PBS TP100. And it was tested in a Rans RV10. Pushes out 250 horsepower. Your thoughts Trent?

Trent, this here is quite the achievement. No one, no one could have expected you to get to High Sierra, nor could they have expected you to get second place. You are a man of legends, and I think everyone can agree.
So many cool things about this. A few years ago Trent wasn't even a pilot, now he's getting 2nd in STOL Drag. PLUS, he creates an amazing video of the whole thing so we can see an amazing event that many of us hadn't even heard of before. Loved this video!

How close would it have been without Draco's reversing prop? I think it would have been a much closer race.
without rev prop Draco woulda placed horribly, the things big and heavy, so the engine's it's main brakes
And all that playa dust kicked up by the prop going into beta gets sucked right into the engine.

Thanks to the complete Flying Cowboys team who inspires many us to keep pushing on ourselves to accomplish our goals related to aviation and for making this event possible to keep aviation FUN. In my very personal case, watching this videos where there's people doing what they love and enjoying it while being surrounded by their best friends and families makes me say: "Hey! I want to fly there with my little boy and enjoy my weekend with this guys!!". This is exactly what I want to transmit to him. Do what you love to do and share it with those who you love. Working on my PPL so hopefully we can be there soon.

What? It’s only been popular since the 80’s. It’s hardly been used at all.
Believe it or not. A company has made a turbine that can fit in light sport aircraft it's called the PBS TP100. And it was tested in a Rans RV10. Pushes out 250 horsepower. Your thoughts Trent?

DITTO! I'll confess that I'm emotionally invested now. Found myself misty eyed by the end of this video after watching how hard Mr Palmer worked towards this goal.
OMG loved the footage and what a result, a movie needs to be made about this, Oh you did LOL best wishes to you all Trent, Mike, Mark, Scott, Corey and the rest of the gang, just love all of the content you boys are putting out their for every one to enjoy, it's your love of flying the enjoyment and enthusiasm that got all those people out there into the desert, they all came to see you guys as like me they have been swept up by your passion, great times guys thank you.

So many cool things about this. A few years ago Trent wasn't even a pilot, now he's getting 2nd in STOL Drag. PLUS, he creates an amazing video of the whole thing so we can see an amazing event that many of us hadn't even heard of before. Loved this video!

@@blakesteinbacher4269 I would definitely pay for Draco. They need more Bush planes that are of a higher quality in XP11. Most of them are XP10 ports and are poorly done.

Great photography, especially the drone work! I don't know how you flew the plane and drone at the same time, and you still nearly beat Mike Patey, but that was amazing. I was cheering and laughing as I sat in front of my screen alone. Inspirational!! You deserve to hold those awards and boast of being a very close second place winner.
