Supermarkets operate the same way. They collect cash for goods sold but suppliers get paid after 60 days or 90 days or even longer if the signatories to the cheque is not around. I hope I am not wrong here. Doctors get paid by the patients on the spot but the poor pharmaceutical sales person hangs around for the cheques for payment of drug supply due only after 30 to 90 days. This practice of delay payments should stop as it adds up to the cost of running a business and the consumers end up paying more for it.
This is the sad reality. Even in construction industry. As a contractor, we are usually being pressured by the client to do the project even without PO, and when the billing comes, dang you have to have courage and patience. LOL
They want the project done on time but they never pay on time, to do a project, contractor must have 50% cash of the project value by himself, cannot rely on monthly progress payments. if contractor pause the project because lack of money, the client will not pay and let project for several months and find another contractor
