Hey! It's come to my attention that I accidentally put the wrong specs on the video! It's a little bit shorter and lighter in weight. Here's the correct numbers. Max height - 150cm / 59.06 in Weight - 1.25 kg / 2.76 lbs Closed Size - (16.14 in not 16.93) Might be better for you or worse! Just a heads up :) Link to the smaller one (Advanced) - amzn.to/3uN5neA Link to the bigger one (GT Model) - amzn.to/3T4CRNp *These models have slightly different ball heads too!
Hey there, I noticed that the Befree Advanced Carbon is being reviewed, but the specs of the Befree GT Carbon are being shown. The Advanced version is actually shorter (150cm), lighter (1,25kgs) and also a smaller ballhead is in kit with the Advanced ;)
Love this tripod! I have the xpro version and it is my daily driver for commercial real-estate and architecture. After replacing the ball head with a gear head, the only drawback I have found is that the centre column is shorter then I would like it to be. 162cm is frequently too short and I have had to install a column extension.
I used the Sirui SL-200 Carbon Fibre tripod extender and the Sunwayfoto Gear head. It's not the best gearhead you can buy but it is the smallest which was more important for me.
@peterkumble4093 should be nice! I have that feature on my bigger heavier tripod (190x) and it’s pretty cool. I messed it up though because I didn’t read the instructions on how to properly use it and lost a part or something. 😆 So just be careful ! Also if you’re extending far enough it’d be good to attach some kind of counter weight to the bottom or opposite leg if you can to play it safe w/your camera and lens. :)
Yes I could not consider hanging the camera (I use a D800 and some 2.8 heavy lenses) out without a center weight or some counter balance to be sure that it stays where you want it to stay. I have even use straps that you might fix a kayak or something like that to a Yakima roof rack to anchor the tripod. Anyway, I will let you know what I might get. Here in the EU, the Manfroto that I mentioned is about 350 dollars vs what it sells for in the US so yes, expensive but you know the old saying, buy the best (or better) and cry once. @@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
Yeah! They have several options here depending on what works for you :) www.manfrotto.com/us-en/products/photo-tripods/tripod-with-heads/?vis_product_collection=318

You should probably address this...
@@jerslens Thanks! I pinned a comment with corrections & updated the description. This is why I don't normally do technical reviews lol 🙃 My bad

What gear head and extension do you use? Super interesting!
I would love to know the extension too!

Cool! Thanks for sharing. I’ll check those out
Love your review Taylor. Thanks for sharing. I just may pick one up. Happy 2023 ! Cheers ! 😎
Glad to! Hope you like it :)
I recently picked this thing up and it is indeed awesome!
Thanks for your review and honest assessment. What are you thoughts on the similar one with the horizontal arm?
Probably cool! I haven’t used it or anything though.
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo THANKS Taylor. This is the one that I am leaning toward (bad pun) Manfrotto Befree GT XPRO (MKBFRC4GTXP-BH) black/carbon

Unfortunately no. Would be nice !
Thanks
What camera are you using at 3:44? Is that the EOS R?
Yup! EOSR in 4k cropped mode with I think 50mm lens and 100mm too
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo I love that camera. Sold it for the R6 but there was just something magical about how it felt in my hands.
True! I still really like it even though being able to do everything in nice 4k 10 bit would be great.
thanks..
You're welcome!
Great review. Is there a version without the ball head?
Yeah! They have several options here depending on what works for you :) www.manfrotto.com/us-en/products/photo-tripods/tripod-with-heads/?vis_product_collection=318
