Very disappointing; I was expecting a classic, elegant European hotel decorated with antiques and beautiful fabrics from a bygone era and I found cold, characterless rooms in a kind of modern cosmopolitan style that you can find in cheap hotels anywhere in the world. The only decent place is the old arcade to stop for a drink.
My mother and I sneaked in 30 years ago when people used to live there. We went up to the last apartment door climbing a small, dark stairway with stained glass windows, wrought iron and wood rails. It was old and rickety, but charming, artisanal, mystical, enchanted. Looks like they removed everything original, except the central passages. Went from cosy, pre-Raffaelite gothic horror to sterile. What a pity. Haven't been inside ever since, I feel too poor to even enter XD Also I cherish my memories more.
Such a stunning hotel!
