Super video, Mark! I got a whole lot of good from it. I've been pretty unaware of the power of the dialog box for polylines, and this will help my designing a lot. I also learned new things about what a polyline is, and how to manipulate it, as well as all the other things you covered. Thanks!
Mark Thanks this video was very informative .This is what I needed to know about placing lines and. I liked how you broke the material in to 4 sections. That could be used to put different carvings on the sides of a box. On the last poly line you did that made sort of a Vshape could you have closed that vector by using the joint vector tool with a straight line. Jeff Peters Obuthte way how big is your new shop going to be.?
Thank you Jeff! Yes, you certainly could join the vector that way. The new shop will be 12' X 16' That's the biggest I can go without a building permit.
Hi Mark, thanks for yet another great video. 2 Qs: 1) based on the same logic that its easier to work with the 0,0 origin at the center, could you not either assign a different origin per layer or alternatively temporarily move the 0,0 to be in ther center of a specific quadrant when working on the vectors in that quadrant? ( e.g. if you wanted to place 4 0.5" diameter circles 1" above and below to the left and to the right of the quadrant center) 2. when drawing lines or polylines, could you mix and say i want the line to go at 20deg until it reaches some goven x value? or say that you want it to have a length of 2" and reach either a specific y or x values ?
Thank you, Eyal! I'll answer question #2 first. No, the software won't let you do that. You either need a length and direction, or an X and Y value. It won't let you mix the two. I'll demonstrate during Live Q&A #46 this afternoon. As for question #1, yes you could do that by using offsets in Job Setup, but I wouldn't have had much of a video this week if I did it that way - hehehehe. I'll get into using those offsets in a different video.
Thank you Mark - excellent presentation
You filled in the blanks that wasn't even aware were there! Thank you!!
Mark, Thanks for another informative video. Always learn something.
Thanks again Mark. The explanation of the PolyLine dialog box was quite helpful.
Mark, your tutorials are always very helpful because of how clearly you explain everything. Thanks
so many thanks for your time Mark, im learning a lot with your superb videos.
very well explained with real good examples. very informative again Mark! thanks

Outstanding Mark. This exactly covered some things that I have been struggling with. Good explanations.

Could you explain how to merge say two or three quadrants in to one quadrant then into another design. Thank You John S.
I'll add this question to the list for the Live Q&A this afternoon. Thanks, John!
