Try the hananese chicken rice(B1-35), hananese fried Hokkien mee (B1-34) and the gorang pisang (fried banana) (B1-36) all next to each other’s. Also behind these stalls try the yong tau fu (B1-44) and braised duck rice (B1-43), hananese curry chicken rice n noodle (B1-53). On the level 1, try the chilli mee (#01-59), clay pot chicken rice (#01-73), desert stall sesame rice ball in peanut soup (#01-75) beef noodle (#01-89).
Love that bowl of spicy noodles. And that aunty is very friendly and cute.Oh, if don't want your beer to be taken away, u can always place a packet of tissue on your mug. Or u can always bring a cover or lid with your all the time. By the way, if u want any meat to be super tender, u can marinade the meat with abit of soda powder.
25:37 My favourite stall (Chung Cheng Chilli Mee) since the late 1970s. Their Sarawak-style chilli is really unique, & which took decades of persuasion to sell separately. Phoned them recently; they said they will reopen in April. Speaking of the area, I highly recommend taking up the lift up to the top floor of Blk 4 or 5 (one-room rental flats) & go to the other end of the common corridor (where new stairwells have been added). The panoramic view looking out towards Kallang Basin remains spectacular. Of course, the sawmills, bumboats & coolies of my childhood are all gone, but Merdaka Bridge still exists (thousands used to walk across it & back during the Malaysia Cup days) & the Sports Hub has replaced the National Stadium. The horizon is also relatively flat enough to see as far as Chai Chee/Bedok (we kids used to be able to spot the smoke plumes from distant fires).
Surprised this is the 1st time you visited here. This is one of the most famous hawker centre in sg. As usual, you skip those popular stalls due to the queue. But I noticed the chilli mee store at 2nd level is closed. I highly recommend you try the dry version. You will love their chilli. There is another popular beef noodle store at 2nd level, just 2 store away from the veg char kway teow stall. Before renovation, the toilet is not clean as u described. It has a strong urinal smell, which I avoided unless I have no choice. So many stalls with good food to try. I am sure you will be back for more.
This is a old hawker Center that is why the space is small but they have improve the place with more powerful fan to keep the heat away. There are many nice stalls there except for the space.
As Singaporeans are getting older and many are dependent on mobility aids it would be helpful if you will also mention if the centre or stalls are accessible by mobility scooters wheelchairs etc.
Lol! You’re so smart to protect your food with your brolly! The Ah Balling is my fave dessert too 👍🏻🤤 There is this very popular fishball noodle at Lavender near the ICA building, if you have not tried.
Ghib.... at last you tried something different. In your previous vlogs I had been suggesting that you try Indian Muslim food or Muslim food like lontong, meesiam, mee rebus, Indian rojak, etc & the tulang merah. Glad that you are more adventurous today. Keep it up !
Wow, the amount of chilli you ate is more than I could take. Probably when you go back to Japan, you will miss all the chilli. Those food stores in Japab can only give you chilli oil
Japanese in hardcore Singapore 🇸🇬 Hawker Centre 😂👍🏼👏🏼 thanks for sharing our Cultural Heritage with the world 🌎 .. but hey.. Ghib is already half Singaporean laaa.. Boleh ✌🏼
The Tahu Goreng at Wedang is very good. Chef Choo Western dishes at reasonable prices and there's a stall upstairs selling. Penang laksa and prawn noodle. Pretty authentic too..
@@TheLostOjisan haha i wont risk calling it the best and anger the rest of singapore in the process. the title "Best Chicken Rice" is a hotly debated topic. But it is consistenly ranked as a top 5 amongst a good percentage of people that I know.
Haha! Good to see you’ve ventured away from wonderful Chinatown. In my humble opinion, Chinatown has lots of great food stalls. But Golden Mile Hawker possibly has the better per sq ft coverage of great tasting food stalls. It’s almost a central attraction of delicious food 😋😋
See whether you can grab some baguettes from Mr. Baguette the next time you are there! It’s soo sinful with all the flowy goodness oozing out when you bite into one
The noodles looked good. But it will be better if the lady hawker will cook the noodle one at a time per order. Otherwise the noodle will become dry and cold.
I feel hungry seeing you eating and enjoying our Singapore food. It’s either for you to suck out the bone marrow with the straw or knock it on your bread dip the below part of the bread with the tomato sauce on your plate and mum mum (eat it) enjoy!!
You can buy legal weapons like Survival Knives, there are 2 shops there in the past. You calso buy those that are longer than the permissible as allowed by the law, but you have to apply license for it! Can't remember what is the length limit, but I think the legal length is no longer than 4in or 6in?
Dear Ghibsan: Really really love it that you are bringing reusable utensils and food containers. The world is drowning in plastic. You win my infinite likes and respect. Bravo! p.s. A slight suggestion to you to try stainless steel chopsticks. Way more bacteria resistant cos way less porous than wood or plastic, which allows bacteria to be embedded.
Ghib not all hawker ctr toilets are free. Most aren’t, Only those 26 hawker ctrs managed by NEA are free n their toilets cleaner. Golden mile is 1 of them.
U must try the fried Hokkien mee which is one of the better ones in SG. The roti John opposite the Hokkien mee stall is nice too compared to many so called famous ones out there. The braised duck is nice and traditional too. Other than that, the rest of the food are over rated and not worth trying.

I'm curious why do they like to add the colouring to their food? Other food like mee goreng etc..no offence to anyone but I will avoid those looking bright orange/red 🤣
you can request them not to add the colouring. It may look uninviting for some, but once you taste it, it is a different story. Try to think of it as 红烧 tulang.

That chicken rice stall is my favourite in all of Singapore. The hokkien mee beside is also very popular but not in the style I like prepared.

new style , umbrella choping
Is the Char Kway Teow with green vegetables & fried silver fish-lings at level 1 still there?
Yes, the stall is still there
Yes, the fried Char Kway Teow is good but closed on Mon
Of course it's very crowded is because the hawker centre closed for 3 months since last year 2020, in November , just open on 1st March 2021.
Try Charlie's at stall B1-30. Hokkien prawn mee is delicious
U should have try out the Da Po curry chicken noodle...it is really good..
See whether you can grab some baguettes from Mr. Baguette the next time you are there! It’s soo sinful with all the flowy goodness oozing out when you bite into one
Oh no just realised u were holding the tray of beef with gloved hand then having it with tulang😂
Visit the East Coast Lagoon Food Village n try the Satay. I just bought ur T-shirt “Ghib Oji” 😄
Tulang is Indian food & is very High in Cholesterol
You should have tried Mutton Soup Kambeng,it goes very well with French toast

Lamb shank cooked in red spices - looks Indian
