We love Randy! (Sponsors also want straight sheet metal!) As Paulie said, follow the outlined rules, reel it in, and don’t do something to send you or another Team home early. This video should be a mandatory watch.
when i went to skip barber he asked me where i learned to drive thru traffic like that? i said i live in NJ and drive on the NY LIE everyday….. he cracked up 🤣 that was ‘98
When you're out there, try to be aware of what's around you. Stay predictable. Try not to move out of the way or approaching traffic. . Just holding your line is the suggested way of being in traffic. If you are on the outside of a corner going in and you can see someone is attempting to pass on the inside, simply ride the outside of the corner all the way around. If you are on the inside and you see or hear someone coming around the outiside, stay to the inside all the way around. Most collisions happen when one car crosses the track from one side to the other while another car is there.
Randy is awesome, we're all lucky to have a guy of his background and experience so openly sharing advice.
Great stuff! Thanks to Champcar for having Randy do this and thanks to Randy for advocating for better skills and behavior in our sport.
Thank you!
Thanks for the info! As a new driver, it's good to know key points of driving on the track! STAY OUT OF THE VORTEX OF DANGER!
