ANY movie with HOPPY in it is worth the watch. My first introduction to Bob Mitchum was one of the many War movies that he was in. His performance in the miniseries WINDS OF WAR" & the sequel "WAR & REMEMBRENCE" proved that even in his later years he was STILL the "leading" Man. Thanks, Rob!
I really liked William Boyd. A great actor who started in the silent era and his acting skills carried over well into westerns such as Hopalong Cassidy.
I just happened to stumble in here seven minutes into tonight's fine entertainment selection. I can't stick around for it right now, but thanks for planning my Saturday morning for me, Rob! -MJ
@@AWordonWesterns HA! It took a few minutes to realize that I saw this the first time around. It was worth the second look, though. Plus, I think recycling these is a good idea for two reasons. 1.) I'm sure there are is a boatload of new subscribers and, 2.) we old guys have no memory left. Cheers! -MJ
Haven't quite been able to get into Hopalong BUT, I sure do owe WOW a great thank you for many others. In particular "Tombstone Territory' and my current favorite. "Tales of Wells Fargo'. Not only do I watch the credits now because of you guys, I watch those hidden gem appearances by those unknown but soon to be 'Future' stars. A Wagon Train from 1960 with Ward Bond had Lon Channey Jr. and Lee Marvin as a couple of outlaws on the rum. Lee was a Mexican bandito. Wounded and near death he delt out some real down to Earth philosophical advice to a young man. I loved it. Thanks WOW and Crew. Happy ST. Patrick's Day Rob.
The easy way Hopy handles his horse,< dismounting and mounting, seemingly with no effort at all. and wearing the most excellent boots. The tension is tremendous
Good shows, Rob! I have seen the movie before on "WOW," and the television show on the DVDs that I have of the series. I always like Douglas Dumbrille as the villain in movies, especially the Marx Brothers series, and Robert Mitchum is always good. So is Glen Strange. 😊👍👍
If you'll notice the credits of FALSE COLORS you'll see associate producer LEWIS RACHMIL, he did the same job on FROM HERE TO ETERNITY... Rachmil was quite a big and diverse producer with westerns like GUN FURY, THEY RODE WEST, THE VIOLENT MEN and REPRISAL. You'll see his name on iconic films like KINGS OF THE SUN, 633 SQUADRON, HAWAII and even FOOTLOOSE. He also produced episodes of the HOPALONG CASSIDY TV series. Also on FALSE COLORS credits notice the director of photography RUSSELL HARLAN, he was the man that made those majestic Lone Pine locations look so majestic on film. A favorite of Howard Hawks, Harlan photographed RED RIVER, THE BIG SKY, RIO BRAVO and HATARI... he was a HOLLYWOOD legend having been the DP on WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION, RUN SILENT RUN DEEP, BLACKBOARD JUNGLE, TO KILL A MOCKING BIRD, HAWAII and many other iconic pictures. He returned to Lone Pine Blake Edwards' expensive comedy THE GREAT RACE if you'll recall. But you have to hand it to William Boyd when it comes to being one of the richest cowboy actors, moreso than even Duke Wayne, when he purchased the rights to his movies for literally pennies on the dollar foot and made millions in TV syndication and merchandising!
Per Wikipedia, the actor Russell " Lucky Jenkins" Hayden, born Hayden Michael "Pate" Lucid, took his stage name to honor his friend Russell Harlan. Oh, to have been an extra on a Hoppy film....
Sorry I couldn’t watch these movies I had lost all power for 6 days, and the internet was out I had used all my data on phone. It was very frustrating. Great movie
Yes. His first film was HOPPY SERVES A WRIT also in 1943. It’s available on our Hopalong Cassidy playlist. Mitch worked his way up to being a Hoppy sidekick and then became a star with two B westerns NEVADA and WEST OF PECOS that you can see in our B western Playlist. I think you’ve watched those with us, OD.
@@AWordonWesterns I just finished watching again, all 22 films including Nevada & West Pecos films on your 22 Classics Play list. Best films ever, in my experience. 👍👍 5 🤠Hat tips 10🌟

Rob I’ve got an autographed pic of Hoppy from the estate of an old Texas Ranger now passed. Wanted to send you pic of it on my wall :)
Cool, John. Either post it on my FB page, Rob Word, or send me a copy at PO Box 46609, LA, CA 90046. Thanks!!
