He got cheated by the refs vs Suriano. They call a stalemate in double OT tie breakers when he gets the boots in?? Really? The goal is to ride, and they stopped him from doing that. And then the headgear grab…

Daton is a great person first and a great wrestler second. He received the hate he did this year for the way he wrestles. His style isn't dynamic or exciting. He wins matches based on solid positioning, expert tactics, and a whole lot of guts. I'm an Iowa State fan, so I was booing during the Frost match as it sucks to see your guy go down to zero takedowns. That being said, Daton is a class act and it sucks to see him the villain. I applaud him for his positive attitude and I know it eats him up inside to be the subject of so much hate. I feel for him; I can't imagine what it's like to be a runner-up four times; to be one of the biggest names in wrestling and to have won zero titles. He's a tough athlete and he'll be better for this.
I'm sorry my favored athletes be such that I root against you, Daton. I'm excited to see you on the world stage and wish you the best with the remainder of your career. Villain or not, you've been fun to have around the sport and made my trips to the NCAA's a blast.

After going through all of this stress of trying to be a national champion, he won’t have to deal with that anymore and he’ll actually be able to just have fun on the mat and not care about losing. Once you’re in that mind state, you can perform much better because you weren’t going in there, trying not to lose. Instead, you’re just going out there to win and have fun. From my experience in sports, the people that are having a good time and not putting too many emotions into the ups and downs, are the ones that perform the best

Some of the fans booed Daton after the conclusion of his semi match with Dylan Ragusin. Some people feel that he stalls, and he may not be the most offensive-minded wrestler, but I don’t think he is deserving of being booed. His success shows that his strategy works for him, but because he isn’t always the aggressor, some fans feel that he’s a stall er. There were also several reviews during the match that may have factored into the booing.

In Oklahoma we celebrate you and your accomplishments forever! You never lost a home wrestling match… You are an amazing beast! YOU are a Class Act. My favorite, gutsy wrestler. YOU rock buddy. Keep your eye on the prize. I'm proud of your "no excuses" attitude. Vito is always on his best game when he wrestles you. Good for you for your hard work and dedication. Keep on working hard. There is no other wrestler out there, more than you, who makes me still love the sport that is the greatest sport of all time.

You finished 2nd 5 times nationally and international. How many can say they wrestled at that high of a level with that kind of consistency? Very few. It’s is an amazing accomplishment! If you see Dan Fix I owe him an arm drag.

To see this kid get hate infuriates me. All the time and dedication. To make it to the finals. EVERY YEAR. Unreal. Crazy thing is that he could have won every match if things were slightly different. He was a class act the whole time too.

I love Daton Fix. Awesome wrestler. Awesome person. Ppl have different styles. You don’t like his? Get over it. He didn’t do anything outside the rules to get 7 yrs in college. That stuff about PEDS is also BS. If my boy turns out to be half that good of a human I’ll be very proud. God bless him.
