      This is a silly take. In your workplace, do you take less pay to "spread the wealth"? Hell no. I understand salary cap implications, but unlike your workplace or mine, Aiyuk can't just submit his resume and find a better paying job. He knows his worth and the workplace situation he wants, and he's trying to get it.
      Also, as a Seattle fan, I totally want him to find his best scenario...hopefully in the AFC.

    • @Reecesavage-Alwayswin
      @Reecesavage-Alwayswin 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @johnchedsey1306 Exactly 💯, most people will look at the situation as a fan of the sport 1 sided. However, the 49ers organization simply can't afford him, nor do they prioritize his talent, which is a slap in the face to Aiyuk. Their recent SB run Aiyuk was the number 1 option 78 targets 1360yds and 7 TDs, only a few outplayed him. Now you're asking him to take 22.5 guaranteed but leaking it to the media, that the contract is for 26 per to make it sound good and to tarnish his reputation is sad. We see this every year, and organizations always make it seem like the players are the problem of an undervalued contract.

    • @stickman1742
      @stickman1742 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Many in NE believe the Pats offer was fake just so Kraft could say he tried. He is cheap and all he had to do is keep guaranteed money low so Aiyuk would refuse. This is always how it is with the Pats, they always have a low payroll and always just miss out on expensive players. No way Kraft wants to pay this guy all that money just because fans want a WR. Typical Kraft move.

      4 million extra means you can have 200-400k a year extra to live off in perpetuatity. If I think I can get that level of generational wealth I'd tried. This is the most he will ever make most likely (unless he goes into business or something post football). All that is of course from a business standpoint, I do agree I'd rather play for a little less on a competent team... same issue happens in business, you can get a lot of money quick from a company that a crap show and hate you life or spend a decade at growing mid sized company with great people. I don’t understand aiyuk. He was offered 26 mil a year from the 49ers and won’t take it because he feels he deserves more. But then he declines 32 millions because he doesn’t want to be on a bad team. If you wanna get paid and be on a winning team, I feel the 26 million a year the 9ths offered is more than fair. Plus is it really worth him going to the Steelers for a couple million more a year when the Steelers are a much worse team than the 9ers. At this point I don’t even know what aiyuk wants.

    • @ThePowerOfOneThePowerOfTwo
      @ThePowerOfOneThePowerOfTwo 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +17

      Steelers are worse than the 9ers but are set up much better than the Pats. It'd be a decent landing spot for him but he'd be much MUCH better off getting $26mil/yr with a stacked team. His next contract could still net him more money with his current role rather than going to some trash team and having his production drop off significantly, thus making his following contract follow suit....

      Exactly. He's jockeying for what will amount to a 2-4m a year increase. On what, a contract that will be 4yrs max? Which means his agent and him will want to renegotiate after 2yrs anyway. All this over 4-8m total probably. To play on a worse team and have a high chance of messing up his long-term career prospects. Makes no sense. I bet you anything they could have agreed on a 27m deal for the next 2 years with him going into FA after. Dude would have either got his 30m extension or on FA at that point especially being on a contender.

      Well it's $26m & probably less once we know the details (Like how Amon-Ra's $30m is actually $28m). We know through TJ Housh who works with Aiyuk that he would've taken Amon-Ra's deal. The 9ers never intended to pay him once the WR market blew up. Instead of getting mad at the 9ers for misevaluating the WR market or not signing Aiyuk earlier, you got fooled by the 9ers PR into thinking Aiyuk's the bad guy. Why don't the 9ers do the Amon-Ra deal? Why is no one mad at Bosa for not taking a few million less to keep the team together? Why is no one mad that CMC & Trent got greedy to the point that the 9ers won't pay $4m more (which is market rate)? Surely Purdy will agree behind the scenes to take $4m less from his future $55-60m deal to keep Aiyuk.

      @RazielSoulreaver7 we are not giving him away for just any Ole thing. You're getting a 26 year old wide out about to hit his prime years .. 9ers have all the leverage. If 9ers really wanted to, they could franchise him for the next 2 years .

    The media keeps talking about Aiyuk, I get it, but for the 49ers the reality is they don't have Trent Williams in camp right now and that's a much bigger problem.
    They don't need to trade Aiyuk. They have no rush to get something done. He's under contract and will have to play out that contract and then they could tag him and still pay less then he wants.

    He's a total diva now. If you want to compete, you gotta take less money, if you want more money you gotta go to a team that's not competing. Competing teams are stretched to the limit with their cap space and can't afford to pay top dollar for a player that's not the top at their position (even then they often have to give up these players).

    Aiyuk is going to have a very hard time getting a better offer than $32 million. For mot contenders, adding a $32 million contract could be cap problematic - contenders are usually spending the whole salary cap. To play for a real contender, Aiyuk will have to tone down his salary demands.

    I always suspected that maybe BA was a little miffed that he didn't get the attention Deebo does. BA is great and he's been solid but, it's Deebo, Kittle, and CM who get the attention. BA just doesn't get as much talk compared to other receivers in the league. Whenever anyone talked about clutch for the 49ers it was Deebo over WR1 BA.
