Saw them twice with Marc on vocals. He's great! They do free meet and greets. After both shows on this tour they came out right after the show. To meet everyone. Great ranking
I came into the band with albums 3 and 4 with Mike Howe, who is one of my favorite metal vocalists of all time. I was elated when he returned and devastated when he passed. His albums will always be at or near the top of my rankings as I've given so much more time to them. Heretic is very good too, and the Wayne album also deserves a mention.

Great video. Metal Church's self titled is among the best debut releases in metal history. Surprised that Masterpeace is coming in last. I prefer Masterpeace over all 00's releases. Weight of the world is best from the Munroe era IMO.

Great Re Ranking of these Metal Church albums Darcy. I just finally got to see them last June and they were great live and I met them after the show and they were really cool guys. Hi Darcy!! Great idea revisiting your Metal Church ranking and seeing the new one as a real addition to their catalogue and just onether one.... I remember the first thing i ever knew about them was the video for "Watched the Children....." but for some reason never got it, then loved the Mike Howe era of the band, unfortunately the 90's came and all went down the drain. I don’t own all of their albums, but I do enjoy some Triumph. I’d say my favorite period of the band is ‘81 to ‘87. Thanks for the kind words 🤘 Best wishes to you too in ‘24 :))
I’m missing good chunk of there material but what I have I love. Hard to not have the first 3 at the top. And the new one is def deserving of the high ranking position! Just missed my top 10! Great ranking brother. Best to you in the new year..🤘👊🏻
I didn’t realize till about 3 weeks ago on how much I love the new album, it was a bit of a grower. Hopefully Hanging In The Balance gets a reissue this year & it would be nice if Rat Pak reissued Generation Nothing. Thanks brother 🤘 Wishing you only best for ‘24
Good to hear your thoughts on the albums Darcy. Yeah The Dark is hard to beat, they really nail it with that one. It's a shame those 90s and 00s albums are hard to find these days. Both Howe era albums are up there for me, I was glad he made a return to the band. Always enjoy these videos, so would be interesting in the Anvil ranking or any other ones you have lined up.
A updated U.D.O. ranking will be next. Anvil will be later in the year, just waiting for the new album & some proper time with it! Hope everything is good your way 🤘 Cheers Grant
Great ranking! But I just can't stand Marc Lopes' voice. So that would be my number 13 on the list. And I saw the same tour in '86 but with Sword also opening as a three bands line-up here in Chicoutimi. My first concert ever. I saw the Somewhere On tour from Maiden a couple months after.
Happy new year Darcy. Nice shirt! Masterpiece is the only album from them I don't have. It's been a hard one to find. Great ranking. I would have XI in my top three with the debut album and The Human Factor. I was a little disappointed with the newest album to be honest. Im ready for all the new music this year 🤘
I’d hope Nuclear Blast would reissue Masterpeace at some point, it’s turned into a very expensive cd. Keep at the new one, it’s a bit of a grower or at least it was for me! Can’t wait for more 2024 announcements 🤘 Cheers Robert
Hi Darcy. Great show and ranking! I found your channel from My Music Corner where my friend John and I are currently doing a series on the Judas Priest catalog. My favorite Metal Church is the self titled debut which I heard when they were still on Megaforce. I stopped following them heavy after Blessing in Disguise but I am rediscovering them. The new album is pretty good. Keep up the great work! Cheers!
They've certainly been determined these fellas. That KV seems a nice guy in interviews ive seen so I hope the new one does well for them. I think between the first four and the last three albums i could curate 2 fantastic albums worth of material. I think even though theres no Z in his name its pronounced Lopez 🤘
I could be wrong but I don’t think it is pronounced that way, he’s from Boston & definitely has that accent. I’ve seen it pronounced 50/50 in interviews, not that it matters 😂
Hey Darcy, Happy New Year! I agree almost perfectly with your ranking, I like Generation Nothing the least of the Ronny albums, other than that, bang on. After you showed the Heretic record I was hoping you would also give honorable mention to the three Reverend albums David Wayne did with the other members of Heretic, the first E.p. is exceptionally fantastic. Also what about the Wayne album Called Metal Church, that David Wayne did with Craig Wells? Where does that one sit with you? Cheers!
Total brain fart on not showing the the Reverend albums 🤦♂️ The Wayne album is really good, definitely be in the top half of this list! Happy New Year to you too 🤘 Stay Heavy in ‘24
Interesting re-ranking Darcy. Congregation will never replace those old classics but it's nevertheless an amazing album. Did i hear an UDO re-ranking? Bring it on! 2024 will be a busy year indeed. Starting with a new album by The Rods 🤘! Have a wonderful year my friend 🍻.
Yes my updated U.D.O. is ready to go, and definitely will be my next ranking video! I’m looking forward to spending more time with you in 2024 🤘 Cheers my friend

I need Hanging In Balance, Masterpeace and Congregation of Annihilation to complete my collection. I have first four on lp too. When I walked to my local record store and saw The Dark on vinyl I had to buy it. That led to getting all those MOV reissues. I love that company. No blurry covers and sound is almost always great. Obituary is my fave death metal band!
Oh man I love Obituary! I’m gonna do a ranking on their albums soon. Sometimes the MOV black covers can be a little too glossy, but overall they do a quality job! Hanging In The Balance is underrated, you definitely need to pick that one up. Thanks as always 🤘 Cheers from Canada
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Yes. Original albums weren't that glossy, but I take glossy one over blurry image. That one isn't on print anymore. Same with Masterpeace. I look at market places here and if not I try to found in Europe through Discogs. I just ordered their latest one so I am up to speed with Metal Church. Obituary ranking def sounds cool. Can't wait!
Cool ranking Darcy ! Gonna be a great year for Metal. My most anticipated releases would be the new one from Bruce Dickinson, Testament, Exodus and HOPEFULLY a new Mercyful Fate or/and King Diamond Album. In terms of updated Rankings, would like to see an updated Kreator ranking :)
You will see an updated Kreator ranking this year, I don’t know exactly when, but you will see it lol. I love the first single from Bruce’s album, I picked up the 7” for it, I bet I played it at least 10 times haha. Thanks as always 🤘 Hail To The Hordes
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 That‘s cool ! Love the new one from Bruce as well, production is not the best, a bit of a weak drum sound in my opinion but still a great song! Roy Z is such an underrated Guitar Player, love his tone 🤘
Made Of Metal is a bit of a mixed bag, it was done when he was back in Priest. Resurrection or Crucible are way better, both have some of the heaviest songs Rob has ever done! Good luck tracking down those Metal Church 🤘 Cheers George

It's funny that you have Made of Metal in the back ground. I was just thinking of listening to that album today because it's been a long time, but I went with Sad Wings, Stained Glass, and Point of Entry instead. I don't have every Metal Church album, just all the ones with David Wayne and Mike Howe. I got Masterpeace a few months ago used at the record store and only listened to it once. I've never heard Reverand, or DW's Metal Church solo album. Where would you place From The Vault? Glad I got the signed by Mike Howe copy with the MW sticker and guitar Pick. I agree with your number one pick. I don't say this often but The Dark is a perfect album where every song is a hit. There was something in the water in 1986! The only other album I've been feeling that way about lately is Kick Axe - Vices, the more I listen the more I think it's a perfect album
I just listened to Halford Crucible before Made Of Metal, Crucible is a crusher! From The Vault I’d put right in there with XI & Damned If You Do, some cool stuff on that compilation. Happy New Year Greg 🤘 See you in the next one
Yeah, I love Crucible! I will go as far to say that I love the Halford Solo albums more than the albums he's made with Priest after Painkiller. Maybe tomorrow will be a Halford day@@darcysixstringsninelives3493
All eras of Metal Church kill! Watched them live on TWOTW Tour. Ronnie Nailed all the material with panache. IMO ALITD is the best of the Munroe era. I loved Mike, I like Marc, but David was the voice of MC! Marc is awesome, but I think he fits Ross The Boss best.
The dark is striaght up speed metal in some songs ; number one for me. Debut = metal church number 2. hitman is a fn awesome song. blessing in disguise 3rd for me . X1 was great too. the human factor is underrated
Only have one of the Munroe albums, so don't know the rest of his albums. Masterpeace was one the really disappointed me, Wayne was back, but never bought the album, because the songs aren't there. Personally I will rank the new one over Hanging. The first 3 are difficult, but I hold Blessed as my #1, S/T #2 and The Dark #3. A bit to do with production. And the Metal Church have a cover song, and that is for the most part disqualifying a top spot for me, hehe. Great ranking Darcy. Cheers.
@@JCStorm76 That's cool, there is 3 Munroe albums I have not heard, but rank the new one last is quite harsh. I personally don't regard Hanging In the Balance as a classic, not even close. But we like what we like. Cheers. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Masterpeace is not a bad album but when I saw them live on the tour I was devastated, it was so bad, David was not in great condition. I´ve seen them on every album tour with Mike, so, five times and once with Ronny. Is it strange to say, Mike is my fave Metal Church singer but "The Dark" is my number one album???
I totally understand what you’re saying, I don’t think that’s strange at all. I forget if you have any of the 3 SPV/Steamhammer ones on vinyl or were they ever released on vinyl? I know the German metal master will have the answer 😉
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 "Hanging..." was released on vinyl officially in South Core, no joke! The next four never had a release on black wax and "Generation..." is available on black or red from Greece, also official, Alone Records.

Unfortunately I didn’t get to see them with Mike either! I live in the middle of nowhere Canada, we don’t get many smaller shows that are close to me. Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from the middle of nowhere haha
Another great show and awesome ranking! Don't know what you think about the Canadian Power Trio "Triumph", but really love them and would be awesome if you could do a ranking of their studio albums... Keep up the great work and wish you an awesome Rocking 2024! 🤘🤘
I don’t own all of their albums, but I do enjoy some Triumph. I’d say my favorite period of the band is ‘81 to ‘87. Thanks for the kind words 🤘 Best wishes to you too in ‘24 :))
Thank you!@@darcysixstringsninelives3493
I’m missing good chunk of there material but what I have I love. Hard to not have the first 3 at the top. And the new one is def deserving of the high ranking position! Just missed my top 10! Great ranking brother. Best to you in the new year..🤘👊🏻
I didn’t realize till about 3 weeks ago on how much I love the new album, it was a bit of a grower. Hopefully Hanging In The Balance gets a reissue this year & it would be nice if Rat Pak reissued Generation Nothing. Thanks brother 🤘 Wishing you only best for ‘24
Thanks 🙏 for a awesome ranking. I love all their albums. The new one was my second favorite album of 2023.
You’re very welcome! Can’t wait to see what 2024 is going to send our way 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Killer video! I just checked out the latest METAL CHURCH album and was blown away. I definitely need to catch up on the later albums.
Thank you 🤘 Definitely check out the last two that Mike was on, both awesome!
Spotify I've never used ever. I listen to vinyl or cds. What a great ranking of the Metal Church catalog.
Thanks Kevin 🤘 Are you doing a Top Of 2023 list this year? Hope you are!
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 probably not this year, to many things going on.
Oh man I love those first 2 Sword albums, we grew up at the right time I say lol. Thanks for hanging out with me 🤘 Greetings from Saskatchewan
I haven’t even heard the bottom 5 on your list but I know all in your top end and probably agree with your ranking of them. Happy new year brother 🤘
That’s with a lot of people, they haven’t given the Ronny Munroe era a chance. Hope your doing ok brother 🤘 Miss those weekly videos from you
Love this Channel ,Cheers DARCY from the West Coast !!
Well, I love having you 🤘 Cheers from Saskatchewan
I was lucky enough to see metal church at the marquee in London 1990 with metallica supporting. I was mental so hot and sweaty, the venue only holds maybe 200 people.
Music on CD is actually releasing The Human Factor reissue this month. I recorded my Metal Church ranking right before I stopped making content.
1. Blessing in Disguise
2. Metal Church
3. The Dark

6. The Human Factor
7. XI
8. Congregation

Happy New Year Darcy🤘
That’s great news, people can finally pick up a great album at a descent price! Hopefully you make a comeback this year 🤘 Cheers brother
Hey Darcy i know im late on commenting but we definitely have a similar taste when it comes to metal church. I would love to see your ranking from Anvil to see how different our list would be.
Don’t worry about being late, I’m just glad you’re here:) I’ll definitely be putting together a Anvil ranking this year, just need a little more time with the new album. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 🤘 Stay Heavy ~ Darcy
Great ranking man, physical media for life! lml
Hell yeah brother 🤘 It’s the only way!
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 The only album I own is The Dark, but what an album!
Nice update ranking Darcy. I still need 3 more by them. By the way that Halford album in the background is another I don't own. Is it good?
Made Of Metal is a bit of a mixed bag, it was done when he was back in Priest. Resurrection or Crucible are way better, both have some of the heaviest songs Rob has ever done! Good luck tracking down those Metal Church 🤘 Cheers George
My favorite "Little Band That Could" I championed them for years to my metal friends. My ranking:
The Human Factor
Blessing In Disguise
The Dark
Damned If You Do
Hanging In the Balance
Metal Church
XI
Congregation of Annihilation
This Present Wasteland
A Light In the Dark
Generation Nothing
Weight of the World
Masterpiece
Damn you Mike Howe for robbing your family, friends and us fans of your talent.
I think that is awesome that you have The Human Factor at #1, you know exactly what I’m talking about with those deep lyrics! Love that album!! Thanks for watching and sharing your ranking 🤘 Cheers from Canada
Exactly! I was never abused (In Harms Way) but the lyrics paint it so well. In Mourning too.
Happy New Year Dude
Same to you! All the best to you in ‘24 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy

Haha yes Disasterpeace is exactly how Kurdt Vanderhoof described it! Love your Top 2, thanks for sharing your ranking 🤘 Stay Heavy in ‘24
It's funny that you have Made of Metal in the back ground.
I have to agree with you. I love all eras as well and really think Ronny did a killer job.
Great rankin darcy🤟🇮🇪
Thanks Frank 🤘
Blessing In Disguise
Human Factor
Hanging in the Balance
and after that it's pretty tough for me
All classic Mike albums!
1. Metal Church
2. The Dark
3. Congregation of Annihilation
4. The Human Factor
that's all i got...
That’s a good start but you’re gonna need more lol. Good to see you’re enjoying the new album! Thanks as always my friend 🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 i'll have more time to dive into your rankings. i was at work earlier.
I love a good multitasker 🤣
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 😆
The dark is striaght up speed metal in some songs ; number one for me. Debut = metal church number 2. hitman is a fn awesome song. blessing in disguise 3rd for me . X1 was great too. the human factor is underrated
All wrong “Blessing In Disguise” is their best lol, cool ranking and yes the Ronny Munroe years are sadly ignored, but my #1 is “Blessing”
It’s good but not best.
Cheers.
OK if the Hanging In Balance album cover had more nudity I’m pretty sure you’d rank it higher 🤣 Love your #1. Which Ronny album do you have?
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Haha, don't think that would help..... 😂😂 Do have Weight of the World.
The new one is nowhere near as good as Hanging In The Balance. I’d almost rank it last actually. Hanging In The Balance is a classic
@@JCStorm76 That's cool, there is 3 Munroe albums I have not heard, but rank the new one last is quite harsh. I personally don't regard Hanging In the Balance as a classic, not even close. But we like what we like. Cheers. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
@@rogerkjorvik Id actually rank it just ahead of Human Factor. Maybe I need to listen to the new one again. I didn’t like his voice the first time I listened. I actually think they should have just packed it in after Mike Howe died. Or called it something else
i don’t hv all of their albums.. bt will def check their latest one out.. love ‘the human factor’.. i hv it on cd.. was lucky to find it in a used bin.. still in gd condition.. no scratches or whatsoever… n been looking for ‘hanging in the balance’ ever since.. found it online bt the price offered was crazy… n i’m glad to hear that it’ll be re-released this yr 2024… looking forward to get a copy..
yeah i agree with the Deep Purple ‘highway star’ cover… why did they record it.. could it be just a way to fill in amount of tracks that needed on an album or they just love the song… i’d guess it’s the latter.. as u’ve shared their David Wayne’s era live album that u hv… ‘highway star’ was on the set list… honestly this song is a big no no for me… it’s overplayed… same like ‘born to wild’.. ‘smoke on the water’… ‘hotel california’… etc etc… i’d rather hear the band’s worst original track… 🤣🤣… btw happy new year bro… stay healthy n stay heavy… \m/
Considering gwar you should listen to the song eighth lock and immortal corrupter. If you like it try a few albums violence has arrived. War party. And beyond hell . The earlier stuff is very goofy 😝
Please do a anvil ranking. That would be a good one
I plan on it! Let the haters hate, we won’t lose sleep ha ha 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
I’d like to see an Iced Earth ranking.
Don’t know when but it will be this year 🤘 Cheers Charles
Man your taste is almost exactly like mine . Do some savatage rankings that would rule
Already did a Savatage ranking, love those guys! Check it out 🤘 R.I.P. Criss Oliva
Hopeful for a Hanging re-release as well. Had it in the day...Waiting is an incredible track. Blessing is my #1. Senior in high school. LOL. Not a fan of any of the Munroe stuff at all. Lopes will have to grown on me. LOL
I think you’ll see Hanging In The Balance reissued this year, very underrated album! Keep trying with that new one, I’m confident it will grow on you 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy

Pretty good but I’d have Hanging In the Balance higher. Probably 3rd or 4th actually
XI should be much higher up. It is sooo good. Personally one of the best and I think it is better than Damned if you do. I would have ranked XI at 3rd best overall. I did not like Congregation at all unfortunately probably rank it at around 8. Mike will be missed so much. I would have bumped up Metal Church debut album at number 1. These of course are all personal thoughts on what I like. I do think everyone should give XI a really good listen and Damned if you Do as well. Enjoy!
Great show
But no shout out to Reverend with David Wayne and Heretic members
Thanks Matt 🤘 Sometimes I’m just not that organized lol. I have the Reverend studio albums, both very good!
The debut album was a killer album. Like the second too but after that mwah.
Well you know how I feel about those two albums! Must have Metal Church! Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
Why don’t content people do - best to worst ?
I think you’ve asked me that before, I don’t know I’m stubborn I guess lol. In all seriousness, I think most people are just trying to retain their audience a little bit longer, because if you look at some of these analytics people don’t stay long … end of the attention span … I think so!
