Without thinking this row: 1. Ready for Boarding 2. Port Royal 3. Death or glory 4. Pile of Skulls 5. Gates to Purgatory 6. Black Hand Inn 8. Branded and exiled 9. Under Jolly Roger …
No! Oh no. Whilst writing I realise it’s not possible for me to make it hierarchical.
I’d say it depends on mood. 1989/90 I was 9 or 10 yrs old and my first Listening was on „Ready for Boarding“.
With Black Hand Inn in this time I changed more to Jungle, Drum and Bass and Hip Hop.
And when I listen today, curiously I only get real affected, when I listen the albums from back in the day I still find them the best better than the albums that followed.
I remember I had the Masquerade Tape in my box but even really didn’t play it.
It was a difficult time for metal music these days and anyhow I have the feeling Running wild was on their peak. Musically Rolf might have improved all the years ahead.
But this catchy spellbound I felt when listening RW until I went off from metal for more than twenty years I didn’t experience anymore. RW was my fave metal band and I still adore these albums and am full of gratitude for the first halfth of the 90s where RW gave me power, identity, inspiration etc. For a kid (I was until I got 15 yrs old) topics with pirates and historically stuff and the artworks were amazing.
I remember I was 10, and my mother brought me from Berlin a RW T Shirt „Death or glory 90“ Tour. On front Adrian’s Head with a pentagram on the forehead and with a pirates hat and clothes. Backside the tour dates. With this shirt I was the coolest boy in our street.

You should do a Best - to worst - listing.

No wrong answers here, my ranking is different but I'm just glad to see another fan! The new album is great, try it out properly, try a track called The Iron Times

    1. Death Or Glory 2. Port Royal 3. Under Jolly Roger 4. Gates To Purgatory 5. Black Hand Inn 6. Pile Of Skulls 7. Blazon Stone 8. Branded & Exiled 9. Masquerade 10. The Rivalry... TOP2 faves for me are clear but anything after that takes bit more time to think out. I love everything up to Rivalry pretty much, some decent stuff after and some actually quite boring too. For me something in sound was clearly lost after Rivalry, though. Victory was first album I ever heard upon time of it's release. It would be ok, kind of like worse Rivalry, had it not have such sterile sound mix, not only on guitars but especially on drums. Rivalry still some of living and breathing in in despite getting bit more sterile sounding one-dimensional mix, and pretty good songs too, but Victory far extended towards that one-dimensional direction. I rank anything pretty highly from RuWi release 80s and 90s. Always was the most influential band for me in metal, although no first one I ever heard. RuWi I heard at my teens, but I had owned some popular bands' stuff like Maiden, Priest etc. before. RuWi was the band that years later at my teenages made me expand and discover much more bands than just the most known ones. I own their all full-length releases up to Rogues in some format, but yeah I lack some of the original LPs I'd like to own, and some could use upgrade to better condition.

What’s some of your favorites? I have a major soft spot for the 80’s stuff, but the 90’s stuff is rock solid! And yeah I’ll get the new one… maybe ill get it now! Haha

The first two albums are their best imo. Can't stand the goofy pirate stuff
