That's so cool! But why do you need a chain, seatbelt, and need to hold on?
I think it's in case the chains snap or the seatbelt loosen or the wheelchair break unlock so the child doesn't get injured

Yeah u pull up the ramp to make it easier for wheeling, and remember to put the brake on the wheelchair bc it can roll away I learned that the hard way when I went on the disability swing I rolled straight off bc I hadn't strapped my chair in

Does it really count as inclusive if it’s fenced of and the gate says restricted area? I’d say no. It’s a good idea it just needs to be designed better.

Yeah, I know! It would’ve been great years ago, when my siblings would play on the playground and I’d have nothing to do. No child should ever have to dread going to a playground because they can’t have fun like everyone else.

How can it be inclusive when its locked behind that gate far apart from all the other children? They cant even play together!
If it was unlocked, other children would be taking up the area, causing a hazard to the wheelchair user. There has to be enough space away from the gravel and other children to easily approach the swing. It is better if there is room for an adult to make sure the wheelchair is safely locked in place to prevent accidents, tampering, or distraction. It's also large, and if a small child were to stand behind it or in the way, they could get hit by the swing.
See, i totally understand the concept of this specific swing and i find it great for children who are not easily taken out of their wheelchairs because of medical Equipment or what else. This swing is just not inclusive! Inclusion means that all children can Play together and are equal.....No one can Play with that child locked behind the gates and locked up in that Cage of a swing. This Girl maybe wanted to go on a swing with her friend, but she can´t...simply because this is not inclusive.
Despite the fact that this Girl is not as disabled as noone can sit her on a "normal" swing....but thats another Topic.
Mimi "Not as disabled"? What? Like I said, it's for safety. The whole piece could have been moved closer to the other swings, but as for the fence, it should stay there. You don't want other children getting hit by the swing or messing with the locks, ramp, and chains. They want an adult to have full supervision of the equipment. If they really wanted to invite someone beyond the gate, then I guess they could.
