Simple. Got mine done in ten minutes (including drinking my tea lol). Only difference was that mine was a 15mm socket not a 14mm). Thanks again for posting this.

How does that little bit of wear on the tip of that bolt prevent the bike from going in to neutral or changing gears

It has a CVT. That is a continuous variable transmission. It does not “change gears”, rather it varies the effective “gear” ratio in a smooth manner. Many cars now use a similar system. “Gears” can be arbitrarily assigned even though it really is variable.
The bolt prevents an internal part from moving. As the beginning mentions it was a precautionary part change. If you remove the part to check it it is just as easy to replace it.

@dzrdn Alright, I get your answer and thanks for answering it at all.But it still doesn't tell me just that little bit of wear stops the thing from shifting.I don't understand that part.I understand the part of if you took it out put a new one in that's a no brainer but i'm trying to learn

Ok so what happens is you do move the wheel and it doesn’t fit?

It keeps one end of the cvt from spinning so that the motor can screw the other part in and out to vary the width of the pulley. Think of it as a wrench holding a nut so that a bolt can be screwed through it.
Moving the wheel can rotate the part it stops. It is not like a set screw. It must be in the correct position
The service manual has full schematic and drawings. One can move it to be realigned so the bolt may be inserted.
