Agree 100%. I got to see them live so many times in the mid 70’s as a teenager in Melbourne with the brilliant Bon Scott. Have never wanted to see them live without him. He had so much charisma. My sister has seen both he and Brian and said Brian had no stage presence and didn’t interact with the crowd, and was so boring. Bon was NEVER boring and always interacted with us. He was the best!

Sorry but I can't let that go by. Yes, within city and suburban areas, the magnificent Australia Ibis has been able to adapt and forage for food in highly urbanised areas and has earned the unfortunate moniker of "Bin Chicken". That doesn't mean it isn't an absolutely beautiful bird and deserves more respect than you dismissive "Bin Chicken"! ARGH!

Brisbane is situated in a semi tropical location, therefore spiders and snakes may be found there but not in the city. I live in Melbourne in the cooler southern part of Australia and I've seen 2 snakes and maybe 40 harmless spiders in the last 73 years of living here.
Snakes are more scared of us and don't stick around and deadly animals are not found here.

If it ends with yeah its a yes. If it ends with nah it means no. So "yeah nah" means no and "nah yeah" means yes. That first "yeah" or "nah" isn't the answer, it can be sarcasm, it can be exasperation, it can be a joke, it can mean "Are you really asking me that question?" depending on the persons mood and the question asked.
So "Do you want a spider in your boot" "Yeah nah!"
"Do you want go go have Chinese? It's half price night"? "Nah yeah!" it's like "heck yeah" but the heck was replaced with nah.

I'm in Brizzy (Brisbane) helping a friend and it's been sunny and warm for 20 days. Today is an exception with rain set in. A sacred ibis waited next to me for the traffic lights to change and we crossed together, seemed really friendly. On Friday I start the 2,000k drive south. Winter here I come. On the way up I saw 10 dead roos, 4 dead wombats, a few foxes and possibly one human (car in the trees off the highway with 12 emergency vehicles attending but not leaving). I hope the trip home, 100k south of Melbourne, is uneventful. Eyes on the road. I take most spiders outside but if I find a huntsman outside I bring it in. "Yea nah look absolutely!" is sports talk for "yes".

we have antivenom for snakes and funnelwebs but its not in homes, only in hospitals as its a severe touch and go long extreme proceedure. Firstyou have to be able to get to a hospital in time. If you get bitten and have a snake bite kit, you wrap the limb and you cannot move or the venom will spread . If you cant move how do you get to a hospital? You need paramedics to come to you treat you and get you to hospital to be revived. If you are remote youre probably screwed. Ive had hundreds of very close encounters with snakes nearly jumping on many, none have tried to bite me, However my friend who lives even more remote than myself knelt on a death adder in his vegetable garden and it didnt bite him. A year later he was bitten twice by a brown snake the 2nd most venomous snake in the world in the same garden. He survived with no after effects which was miraculous considering the distance to the antivenin. This is the thing, a lot of bites are dry bites or bites that the snake decides not to inject so much venom. It depends on how afraid the snake has become and the length of time he has to munch on you before he thinks you will injure him. Brown snakes have short fangs and thick jeans can help. Black snakes are considered not so venomous by brown snake standards but they have long fangs and their venom is the most painful, there was a man near here that was slow to get to hospital from a black snake bite and he died. But if you are heavily envenomated and you survive due to the anti venom, its not plain sailing from there , you will never really get over it physically.

As an Aussie with arachnophobia who's had several terrifying encounters with dinner plate-sized spiders, I have a particularly harrowing tale to share. The worst encounter happened during a blackout, naturally - cos what terrifying spider encounter would be complete without the ambiance of a horror movie? In hindsight, it felt like a cosmic joke at my expense. I can almost picture God nudging Mother Nature with a wink, saying, "Watch this one - popcorn?"
So anyway, I had waited for the storm to pass, then grabbed a torch & headed to the bathroom for a shower. I plonked the torch on the vanity, its beam pointing to the ceiling. And there it was, illuminated like a monster in a spotlight 🕷️🔦 A spider almost the size of the toilet seat, over by the door, trapping me in the room 😰
The sudden light startled the spider, making it jump slightly. This jittery movement from a creature straight out of my nightmares triggered a shrill scream from me 😱 echoing through the bathroom. The ear-piercing sound scared the spider again, causing it to jump once more, which set off another round of even louder screams from me 😱 My screams only made the spider more frantic as it started a jittery dance, causing me to scream even more shrilly.
Over & over we went, stuck in a comical yet terrifying dance of mutual fear, each reacting to the other's movements in a seemingly endless loop. Me afraid of the giant, eight-legged monster & it equally scared of the loud, four-legged freak with the blinding light. This chaotic scene eventually ended after my neighbour summoned the Police, thinking bloody murder... 😂
And this spider was only the 2nd biggest I've ever seen 😰 Oh yes, I have come face to face with the Grandaddy of Spiders before too... 🕷️😱 After an encounter like that, it takes weeks, even months to let your guard down again. The longer you go without seeing one, the more nervous you get tho, cos you know you're overdue for a run-in. In the meantime you just remain vigilant, always checking everything: shoes, the bed, the mailbox, under bucket lips - you name it.
Over the years, I've conditioned myself to better deal with the smaller & average-sized ones, by shooing them outside. I won't kill them tho; they don't deserve that. It's not their fault they look so creepy! But when the whoppers come along, I have to call a neighbour or a mate to deal with it.
Despite all this, I still love Australia. It's a beautiful paradise - & if this is the price I have to pay for the privilege, it's worth it 👍
    Cheers mate 🍻😁🇦🇺

You can't buy anti-venom for a first aid kit. That stuff is expensive and only available from medical doctors or a hospital! That bird was an Ibis, which is often called a "bin chicken" and is our bird equivalent of your "trash panda". Fosters is definitely aussie beer however it hasn't been popular since the 1980s, and was never popular outside Melbourne. Aussies rarely cook prawns on a BBQ. In summer they are usually cooked by boiling, then they're chilled and served cold.

I live in a more rural town and we have “seasons” for snakes when they are more dangerous- coming out of winter for example you see more aggressive snakes, if you annoy them. My husband delivered gas bottles and pulled the truck up on a dirt road and a big brown snake reared up to waist height and chased him, he jumped to the roof of the truck and then waited until it slid off the back and jumped in the cab, but Aussies will definitely use those stories as pub tales and get a bit of mileage out of them.

Yeah Nah Yeah usually means 'Yes I understand what you've asked of me, no I don't have a problem doing that, yes it's fine". For example:
Person 1: My babysitter's cancelled, I'm sorry this is last minute but I really need someone to watch the kids while I go to this job interview.
Person 2: Oh yeah nah yeah, what time do you need me to come over.
It can also mean 'Yes I heard what you said, no I can't do that, but I'm kinda wavering on saying yes anyway".
And there's also 'Yeah Nah But', which can mean "Yes I heard what you said, no I don't necessarily agree with it, but I concede you made some good points', or 'Yes I hear what you're saying, no I don't necessarily agree with it, but I understand the situation is complex', or you've been accused of doing something wrong/have done something wrong and then Yeah Nah But becomes, "Yeah I know what you're accusing me of, no I didn't do it, but I understand why you thought that, and I will defend against said accusations if necessary, or make some shit up if I'm actually guilty and trying to worm oout of it' (depending on whether the person is actually guilty tends to change the rapidity and tone of delivery).

Exactly NZ little brother, a pain in the bum! But don't no one else pick on him. AC/DC also known as Acca Dacca in the land of Oz. Bon Scott is buried in Fremantle Cemetery. Bird in clip is an Ibis better known as a bin chicken. ESKY🇦🇺 Chilly Bin 🇳🇿 Cooler 🇺🇲

An example of using 'yeah, nah'.
Is Australia full of really dangerous animals? Yeah (they exist and you need to be aware when relevant), but nah (very few people actually get bitten/stung and die from them).
Horses and bees cause more fatalities in Australia, and at about the same level as in the USA. Meanwhile Australia doesn't have bears, cougars, coyotes, wolves, etc. And, there's no rabies, so if you do get bitten by a dog or whatever, that isn't a risk.

Most people outside of Australia don't know how to eat vegemite. You make toast... good toast... you apply butter or margarine..... then you take a LITTLE bit of Vegemite and spread it over the toast and mix it with butter/margarine..... some Australians like a lot.... like my mother..... but most Australians use it sparingly and it tastes awesome...... most Aussies when weaning their children will give their babies ready to move onto solids..... crustless toast with a scrapiing of vegemite on...... along with a meal of sausages (skinned and mashed) potatoes (mashed) vegetables (mashed) and a bit of gravy to mix it all together. Along with Weetbix.... porridge...... custard etc. I get so pissed off at the people outside of Australia reacting to vegemite... when they choose to not fucking understand anything. You can still dislike it..... but learn how it is actually used first...... and no.... vegemite chocolate isn't a fucking thing....

If you live in a city, you’re not likely to come across a snake, a roo, a croc, or too many deadly spiders. Yes, we have carpet pythons and tree snakes, and we have huntsman’s and daddy long legs. I guess we have the golden orb and wolf spiders in the city which I’ve heard are poisonous. But we do what normal people do when you see them - generally just try to avoid them lol.
If you go bush though, snakes and spiders are a genuine concern. Snakes particularly in the warmer months. But a lot of us have snake repellents like infrared thingies that keep them away pretty well.
My husband and I are genuinely thinking of doing a ‘what life is actually like in Australia’ video.. it’s really not like these videos make out. Yes we are very sarcastic and in general, not that precious about feelings. We know how to have a laugh and we know when a joke is a joke. In general, we prefer to chat to someone if they’ve done something we don’t like and we’re not afraid to stand up for people, even if they’re different to us. We might fight amongst ourselves, but the moment someone else steps in to have a go, we’ll go to the wall for our country and everyone in it. We have our own problems, like every country. But overall, living here is a gift and a pleasure. It’s a beautiful place and for the most part, the people are awesome.

We dont hate NZ we are best mates but you need to understand Aussies and kiwis are like siblings and love to have a go at each other especially when it comes to accents, slang or sports. Plenty of enemies have learnt on the battlefield that taking the ANZACs lightly can prove to be a mistake.. Seriously have you never seen an ibis before they are the sacred birds famously depicted in ancient Egyptian heiroglyphs and are common in Africa as well ?. The one behind them was the Australian white Ibis which we refer to as bin chickens because they have a habit of getting into garbage bins looking for food. To understand US - cooler, Australia - esky , NZ - chilly bin, Its called an Esky in Australia because it was the brand name used by Malleys when they put first one on the market and I believe that it came from Eskimo. Fosters was a beer that originated in Australia but its not popular here and I dont even know if they still make it I do know its made in other countries like Canada UK and US for sale in those markets, I have drunk Fosters when in other countries but personally its not a beer that I would really recommend to anyone. Try watching AC/DC live at the River Platte Stadium maybe you could start with Whole Lotta of Rosie.

My man, AC/DC? Thunderstruck, official video, GO! "Yeah, nah", and "Nah, yeah", are very intricate parts of our vocabulary, very specific meanings. 'Anti Venom' available for almost everything, but you gotta get your ass to a hospital for that, depending where you are when bitten, that could be tricky 😬. Love ya! ✌❤

Anti venom would be useful only for people living in remote areas. If you’re near a medical centre then don’t worry. But around cities it’s very unlikely you’ll encounter snakes. Maybe in Queensland you will but otherwise not likely.

Cv l can tell you there is not one bug in my house .I'm in Melbourne it's winter maybe in summer l saw about 3 flys outside each day few spiders on fence but non poisonous .no snakes this year l ride my dirt bike every few days along river trails only 1 tigersnake l ran it over at speed a few bluetounge lizards .l do wear motorcross boots for protection just incase snakes but I'm always going to fast for them.l do be very cautious if l have to walk in long dry grass .slowly slowly .no crocs they live in the far north where it's always hot n humid wet n dry seasons only .not 4 seasons like the rest of Australia. Low population up north it gets way to humid for me..

    • @xymonau2468
      @xymonau2468 วันที่ผ่านมา

There are four seasons even in north Qld. The wet and dry dominate, but the temp drops in winter - sometimes a lot - and even if it's only for a few weeks, it happens. I was from Townsville. The closer you get to the equator, the less variation, of course. Townsville isn't humid because it has a dry tropical climate.
