For everyone's info -- Akane’s touching message to Kanami on her 31st birthday: Kanami and I met when we were students, and from the moment we first met, we became friends. At the time, I was working as a drummer for Kanami's support band, who was working as a singer-songwriter. Her passion for music and the amount of practice she did was amazing. I was surprised that there were people in my generation like her, and at the same time, I was very impatient because I didn't practice enough. Since my house was close to her house, I became close with her family. When I went to Kanami's house to play, I was happy that Kanami's mother greeted me as her "welcome home." That's why I always say "I'm home" at her house. Of course, when Kanami comes to my house, I welcome her back. I'm really grateful to Kanami for inviting me into BAND-MAID, and it's no exaggeration to say that Kanami made me who I am today. I admired Kanami, who was kind, amiable, bright, serious, hardworking and loved by everyone. I want to be that kind of person too. Whenever she interacted with people, everyone always had Kanami on their mind. Kanami has gone beyond being best friends to become a shared destiny with 5 people. I'm happy to be able to do music with the best members. Once again, happy birthday Kanami! Thank you for your continued support! ! ! ! ! Akane
Saiki actually has become the spokeswoman (along with the spokespigeon) and is involved a lot in interviews and hosted a radio program with Miku last year. She has warmed up quite a bit from the Ice Queen image.
This TV show had a programme where members of their staff could suggest a band for interview. Mr Ogata worked at the studio and recommended Band Maid. Miku is the founder and main spokesperson for the band. Kuruppo is Japanese pigeon talk and she abbreviates it to Po. Misa has a bottle of Jim Beam or beer or smimilar on her amp during shows. Saiki has the most interesting back story- At this time her voice was rough as she was about to have a throat opperation for polyps. First she was a solosinger, then an actress, model and then a singer/dancer. Three days before her first show with them, she was on the stage in Tokyo. In the early days Akane used to organise all the band activities. Most of the songs are from 2015.
Xsezz -- I believe you're gonna wanna know the Maids names at some point: Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, Vocals, Lyricist, SpokesPigeon, and Founder Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead Guitar, Keyboards, Main Composer Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" aka: MISA MISA MISA - Bass And this interview was from 2016, I believe!
Yes this is for real! Miku has been making pigeon noises for nine years now (apart from a small break when a manager banned her - that didn't last long). Saiki is not nicknamed 'The Ice Queen' for nothing - though she has thawed out over the years! As for MISA drinking, watch any live video and look on MISA's amp. You will see her bottle of Jim Beam. She drinks it neat. Akane is no longer leader. The guy wasn't their manager, he was a member of staff on the TV programme who used to be in a band. This is just a snippet of their personalities!
If your interested in finding out about Band Maid their music and about the members I suggest you check out Wave Potter's channel. He has 3 parts of a Band Maid documentary on his channel he's doing !! He also does a lot of in-depth breakdowns of their music . Ohrenje's channel has just released a biography on Saiki with the other members to follow ! He pulls talented Band Maid fans from around the world together to make content about the band ! Ant is another channel that has interesting Band Maid content . Love his funny movies he makes about the band ! These channels will lead to other Band Maid content also if your interested !
AKB48 is a Japanese girls idol group with more than 100 members😁 Mr. Ogata is a staff member of this TV show. He recommended Band-Maid to this show simply because he likes this band a lot. Miku is making her pigeon character, but all other members are more or less like this, at least for interviews. MISA (bass) and Akane (drum) always goofs around when there are members only. Saiki (lead vocal) has brighten up lately. She's been talking and laughing a lot in recent interviews. Akane is no longer a leader, actually there is no leader in this band right now. They decided that they don't need a leader any more because all members can act responsibly. 30 plates of sushi are 60 pieces of sushi. One bowl of Wanko soba is about one bite size. Mr. Takahashi (host) is a comedian and is a good interviewer. Saiki's voice is rough because she had polyp in her throat. She had a surgery to remove it in 2017 (this show was before her surgery). We don't differentiate "L" and "R", so "rock" and "lock" are pronounced in the same way in Japan. Initially they didn't know how goofball Akane is, and she was pretending as a normal person. Now, Saiki calls Akane as a lovable dumb bunny. They all are good friends, but Saiki, MISA, and Akane are really close friends. Miku now has shared-ownership of two race horses.
To set you straight because you made so many assumptions that are incorrect. The band is self managed. Kurrupo is the sound a pigeon or dove makes. Here it is coo. A dove and a pigeon are the very same animal. Akane is the band's day to day manager. She is the one who has the memory to know where they need to be and when. Miku is the leader who delegates authority. Miku thought of the concept and put the band together herself. Kanami then taught Miku to play guitar. An act? Not hardly. These ladies are as real as real can be. They are as advertised. This interview was early on. Band-Maid is the anti idol or alt idol band because they were not put together by corporate suits. They put themselves together. They have neither manager nor producer. They manage and produce themselves. There are a couple of other points where your assumptions are wrong but space limits and if you look you will find out. "Looking is not seeing."-small pigeon (she believes she has been visited by the spirit of an 810 year old pigeon and she rents a little space in her pretty head to him). She is crazy but in the very best way conceivable. Everyone should be crazy just like her. Some here believe that they have a guardian angel sitting on their shoulder looking out for their best interest. Is that any crazier? Regards.
@@xsezz You are more than welcome and thanks for not taking it personally. You were making observations that seem obvious. That's the thing with this band. Throw expectations out the window and every single nuanced thing they do has specific meaning. Every single aspect is well thought out. I love the part in the interview when Miku (small pigeon) places her forefinger to her temple and says "clever, huh?"
Kobato Miku is her stage name, Miku's real name is Noguchi Mika. Miku has partial ownership of two race horses. She also writes the lyrics for the BAND-MAID songs that Kanami writes. TRIVIA: MISA is 5'8" (even taller in her MAID shoes), and Miku is 5' tall; Akane is 5'6"; Saiki is 5'4"; and Kanami is 5'1". MISA and Akane went to the same music school and Kanami also plays piano (her 1st instrument)...and has a degree in economics.

Cool, cool. Thank you for details!
The song "Alone" which is featured in this interview was their first song that was created totally on their own.
Oh cool!

Copy that. Thank you for the information! :)
This report was made in 2016. Another addition: when they are together, Misa is the greatest comedian.
2016? Wow, that's quite old. I thought it was from like last year or something, LoL!

Dude if you haven't heard Real Existence Live from their channel, you NEED to do that one!!!
I'll add it to the list, thank you!

Miku Kobato is the second lead. She sings lead on several songs and has a lovely soprano harmony to Seike's alto
👍👍👍👍👍
Yay!
The presenter Sayaka Nishiwaki is the younger sister of Ayaka Nishiwaki of the Japanese supergroup, Perfume.
Akane is not the leader now since everybody have their own tasks in the group.
Got ya!
Small bowls.
Ah, well that doesn't sound so bad then. :)
