Well done on Ben to asking the tough questions- seen a few podcasts with Carl and this is the first time I have heard about his accident. Same with Aleem recently with his incident with the police officer. Important for the audience to also see that ultimately these great businessman/influencer do make mistakes and are not simply "hustling big profits" every day..
It's insane, how some of these guys think they prove how self-made they are, and just end up bragging about how privileged they are. You can work hard and still be privileged. He took over the family business, and haven't acknowledged that.
Good business is fair business. What a great line to sum up that interview, arguably the best insight into Carl Hartley. Brand name, pay fair money 5% tolerance and good business is fair business. Old fashioned principles that are rare to find today. Why buy a car anywhere else?
My Father always said to me “a good deal suits both parties equally”. If you go through life and can steer everything through that test you will have lived a good life.
It’s not very relatable, I agree. The thing is they talk about grind but from experience that’s easy when you don’t have day to day worries. I pulled myself up from mixing milk with water as a child making it go further because we couldn’t afford any more. When you’re worrying about your next meal it’s not easy to make big moves, especially considering this sort of upbringing doesn’t teach you any financial literacy. You don’t have family friends as advisors or even a good role model to aspire to. I had a pair of alcoholics that didn’t help me one bit. I’m not saying they don’t work hard but most certainly don’t seem to appreciate how easy they’ve really had it.
Great interview Ben, I have always enjoyed any interviews I've seen with Carl, as regards all the salty silver spoon comments I see here, he still had to put in the work and hours to make a success of his side of the business without any guarantees he would succeed, he is where he is today because of the work ethic his father instilled in him, there are plenty of entitled people in society who swan about on daddy's money who have never done a days work in their lives!!
Ben always has to relate every circumstance back to himself. Please stop with the long winded questions.. you end up falling asleep by the time he actually gets round to it. Good guests tho
If your privileged enough to come from a rich family you use that opportunity to your advantage. I know a friend who inherited 2 million. Same thing. You play the cards your dealt
Not taking away from what he has done, but it's far far easier to do it when you know that if you fail, that's ok and you won't have to worry about the house or food or survival. Takes the pressure off.
This podcast would have been so much better if Carl was allowed to answer more questions rather than Ben making it about himself all the time. Once again I have to say I came here for the guest and not the host.

Thanks for this comment, goes a long way! :)
Aleem is a disgrace to humanity

9 minutes in and an intrusive ad. Feels like my attention was hijacked. Not a cool ad dump
Dude, just shut up...
I’m fed up with ads when I pay for no ads, if adds are too long just 👎🏿 and don’t comment
Great listen on the way to work,as usual keep the good work coming mate 👍🏻
I've followed the Hartley's since Tom jnr was first on tv. Love them all. Carl is that guy.

Well said, Absolutely
I love listening to Carl, you can learn a lot from a geeza like him
Excellent insightful interview
I’ve got a lot of respect for Carl, talks a lot of sense and is a great guy to be around ❤
Brilliant interview with Carl he explains it so well
Ben always has to relate every circumstance back to himself.
Please stop with the long winded questions.. you end up falling asleep by the time he actually gets round to it. Good guests tho
Great watch as usual 🚘 great set up Ben
Thanks! 👍
If I’d of left school at 8 I’d still be on the council estate I grew up on or in prison. I really like Carl but he’s a hard person to relate too

Brilliant high level guest, Tom ran a strict household with the boys and they’ve done him proud.
Yer sure, but easy when you are bought up with a silver spoon in their mouth.
I’d say their upbringing is anything but silver spoon in their mouth. I think you need to look up what that phrase means.
I was at those services too @ben when saw Carl's Veyron for the SCD bbq, 👌
The good old days!
@@RoadToSuccessOfficialPodcast certainly was, always remember you as a young lad with your father, been great to watch you grow from boy to man,
Jesus, he works for his dad’s garage but what has Carl done that’s made him a success?
Son of Tom Hartley must be a tough life 😂❤
One of the best that one 👌
Is there a reason why you didn’t actually talk about what happened with the crash? Wanted to know the details
I hit that deer ON A TRACK!! 😂😂😂 Legend!

Gives a clue as to how much people are ripped off by dealers under pricing to buy and inflating to sell.
Look forward to buying from Carl in the future 🫡
Ben comes across as a lovely young man. Smash life Ben, make him beam
Everytime your videos pop up in my feed I think it's a new episode of the Pornhub podcast 😂
Dreams
Colours are intentionally used for that reason I guess lol
only mentioned Mat Armstrong once !
I bet a few other super car dealers would disagree with Carl 😅
Probably not the ones who are successful
can you get get Mat Armstrong back on
I usually do podcasts with Mat every 6 months! Might have a couple of special episodes coming up with Mat! :)
its not hard to make money when you come from money tbh
How do you know
@@garvey2510 by applying basic common sense
Original deal..maker..Carl's grandfather Tom. Hartley
Silver spoons and so on..
Just two guys who started from the bottom and worked hard to get to where they are
He's definitely a silver spooned guy
Poor deer
who is the bigger no-mark here?
Silver spoon job 😅
