I think we have basically moved from being able to get away with 5 pedal positions (0 1/4 1/2 3/4 100%) to now really needing to be a bit more precise, as you would in real life.. i only had a quick go on daily C time trial, flew off the curbs for 2 laps then realised.. even going over the hill through those series of corners just letting off 5% you suddenly get a ton of turn in, not dead straight on a curb, 90% is fine, 100% it lets go.. I think its a good update unless you have a heavy foot 😬
I believe that the physics ARE an improvement.... I got my first wheel recently, a Thrustmaster T150, and I have more feeling/feedback, as well as heavier force feedback resistance. I raced the WTC900 at Autopolis, and noticed the ability to push the GT500 cars and manage your weight distribution has improved. I've noticed that braking is MUCH better, specifically not using ABS. I take back what I said about the new physics not being realistic, it has its issues but it feels more natural overall. I've only tried the GR Supra Gr.3, M6 Gr.3, 458 Gr.3 and the V8 Vantage Gr.4. The 458 feels exactly the same as before, but the Supra feels like new car. The new physics just need its final touches to be the best it can be, I don't think the PS4 can handle much more than that to be honest.
I Love the Subaru especially with a Medium Turbo just gotto learn the Eiger Nordwand now. They Really improved the Physics Feels Like a different Game now.
I've had a good week so far on Daily Race C with a few wins. But tonight I seemed to struggle more than others around me. I was only 2 tenths off my fastest lap with the old physics in the race. But there was a significant drop in pace during the 2nd half of the race. It seeks like they've kinda gone back to the old tyre model, which I'm very happy about. But for me I didn't feel too much difference in the Aston Gr.4. Thanks for the vid. Interesting to hear your thoughts, as I am only a B driver, so this change doesn't feel as big as it is for you.
I like the new physics. Im using the DD pro 8nm. It feels totally different. The update also fixed some small issues with DD pro like if you hit "retry" the steering could get heavy. And there was a new issue where the SENSIT in the wheel would sometimes not be synced with the race car (I thought it might be a problem with my wheel, but it's fixed now). To me the physics feel more realistic and the car feels more alive. I think it's the best update yet.
I think I'm using the latest firmware. I checked it a week ago. I have the wheel on auto settings and GT7 settings @ 5 & 5. I didn't fiddle with anything. Before I would sometimes have to turn down the ffb settings in GT7 to 3 or 4 depending on the car I was driving.
Playing on controller, I found the RH tyres more grippy. You could get on the power quicker out of corners. Maybe it's the extra weight? The green painted kerbs at spa used to spin you as soon as you touched them and now they don't. It's harder to take Eu Rouge and Radillion flat out in Gr.3. You can still do it, but you have to be more accurate due to the weight shift of the heavier car. You can't take Corbe Paul Frere (turn 16) flat, at least on controller. You don't get enough steering angle to stop the car going wide. Cars are generally a lot more understeery. You need to brake earlier and -ve BB helps control the back end sliding out under braking. Oh yeah, the Supra is now stupid fast on the Kemmel straight. About 7mph faster than the RS01 by the braking zone.
Jimster I did about an hour at Spa last night on the controller, alternating between the 650S and the 911. I found much the same as you. Much harder to take Eu Rouge -> Radillion flat now...nearly impossible to get it right on the 650S in particular. My braking points were all messed up, I was overshooting and had to adjust - brake a bit earlier for most corners. I could no longer take Both Corbe Paul Frere and Blanchemont flat out in either car - had to lift in both cases. As a result, closest I got to my pre-patch qually time with the 650S was 6 tenths. Quite a long way off. Interested to see if others have experienced similar with those cars, or am I going crazy. Daily B leaderboard has shifted, but mainly just in favour of the Supra...not sure how the other cars have been affected. More testing needed, but wow, huge change to GT7.
@@Krymefighter I think they've nerfed the maximum steering angle at high speeds on controller, making some flat out bends impossible to match a wheel user on.
My dd plus acts wild on a corner in off line, rear brakes just lock up at apex, zero brake applied. Just lock up and spin out. Driver 455. Thanks for the info.
i'm pretty sure that pd watches your videos, please pd increase the ff torque so that people with g29 can enjoy this update to the max. the update is really good in terms of physics as I can feel a lot more detail on my wheel - please fix the torque. right now it feels this update is focused on players with 8-12nm torque wheels. :(
Yeah, I really liked it. The car slippery and slightly a bit more. Didn't feel like it was running on rails. Wow it's actually got me back into the game.
I think FFB is a general issue - not only Fanatec related. On my G29 on some (slow) corners - like T1 spa in Daily B the wheel feels completely loose, and then on the back straight (where the penalty zone is) it feels like I'm driving over rocks.
Be interesting to see if you changed any wheel settings once you got used to the new update Your last wheel settings video was great. Maybe a possible updated video (if you changed anything on wheel or in-game)?
DD Pro 8Nm. not same as last night, lot less input from wheel. Very disappointed. Going to let the dust settle before doing anything. Not even close to experience on ACC. Which is what I'll be playing until I get this resolved.
They either needed to drop the title “real driving simulator” or get more realistic and they did get more realistic. Bad driving habits will be magnified and we’re seeing the casuals backlash against it. When I started ACC a few months ago after 60k miles on GT7 I noticed I couldn’t drive the same way and had to adjust to the realism of ACC. This fixed some things and getting back on GT7 I was faster but wished it was more realistic. I think it’s a great step. Just need to fix whatever bug is going on with the suspension
its not try to drive the formula cars FFb almost non existent and then back to the gtr nissan 18 its insane how good it feels way more alife then before
Public Service Announcement: I would carefully read the official Fanatec forums regarding the firmware for the DD+ base that’s included with PC driver 457. That firmware is bugged. Specifically, on some DD+ bases it causes “soft disconnect” issues with all driving games on the PS5. I personally, went through this issue. Fanatec exchanged my base after a failed hotfix firmware release. The replacement base included 455 for the base firmware and 457 for the wireless quick release firmware. This is the most stable combination at the moment and it’s also noted on their forums. Using 457 for the DD+ base is not recommended.
@@sam-sm3scYes. The DD+ is different from the DD Pro. The DDPro has 8nm of peak torque whereas the DD+ has 15nm of constant torque. If you have the DDPro, the driver package in 457 is solid and the most stable at this time. I would recommend using 457 if that’s the base you own. I own both bases and 457 is solid on that. Not so much on my DD+. The replacement base direct from Fanatec’s engineers came with the firmware I stated earlier. It’s the most stable for the plus. Digit is using the Plus.
@FMwerksfactory , aha!! I was confused also. Thank you for your excellent clarification. I'm going to update my dd pro to 457 now hunting for that positive feeling I hear you guys talking about and hoping for a cure, or at least some relief to the random wheel disconnects that have plagued my wheelbase for the past few months. Again, thank you!

To be fair tcs 1 doesn't feel too bad if you're smooth with throttle input. It kinda feels like tcs2 of previous physics. When you're losing the car on throttle you can react and save it. Tcs 2 is absolutely horrendous now. It kicks in even when you're doing Eau Rouge flat out
The new physics with logitech G pro feel fantastic, I real feel the tires it's hard to discribe but I real like it ... I don't think Logitech already update the wheel driver but I guess it will get even better ... I just don't know where to find the best setting to be sure I don't miss somthing ... Bravo GT7 !!! see u on track ...
are you sure - I am getting crazy wheel oscilations on my g pro wheel since the update. Have had to reduce FFB sensitivity to 1 and increase to solve it.
@joenezitic5181 I have some small oscillations too on straight line but not that much and I confirme I decrease the force fb to 7 ... and since the update I don't feel anymore the tf audio ... did you update the driver wheel?
Apart from the broken FFB the game is now much better. Physics are a big step towards being a sim. When you were swerving on the straight to test the front tyres, just look at how realistic the weight shift and sudden bite of the tyres is. I've never driven a car on slicks or a race car, but I did push many road cars to their limit, and I can vouch for these physics being much closer to real life.
Amigo we need new wheel setting for fanatec this update turned everything 180 degrees my old dd pro wheel settings feel toooo light in general fb feels a bit light, great content very informative
Where is the dead zone settings. They really should just add it already. No other game is effected by the tiny twitch R3 has on my controller and it always makes me look sideways at the car. Being on controller is hard enough
The physics updates worked ok on the G29. I did need to increase the sensitivity and torque settings of the force feedback (3-6-6) then it felt nice. 👍🏼 I was about .5 faster average. Happy days. 👍🏼
@@josue005ful when driving pause and select controller settings. Change the sensitivity to 3 then the torque settings to 6 and the steering force feed back to 6. I find this feels the best. It was a little soft feeling after the update. When you change to 6 it will give you a yellow warning it’s fine just proceed. Enjoy 👍🏼
So, on this ffb and updating to Fanatec driver 457 thing; A) would you describe that weird feel to your wheel as sometimes "floaty" or "vague?" And, number 2) do you think that might help on a gt dd+ pro? Bonus question: any chance of #457 curing the most irritating random steering wheel disconnect issues? Thanks for your vids! Always my 1st go-to for solid gt7 info, thank you!
My dd pro had basically no force-feedback in slow corners after the patch. Upgrading to 457 helped to get the feedback back, but it is still weaker then before. Had to go from 5/10 in-game torque setting to 10/10 and from 90% force-feedback strength to 100% in Fanatec settings to make it comparable to before the update. Now I have good force-feedback in slow and mid-speed corners, but to much in fast corners. Riding curbs and bumps also "kicks" the wheel more then I like. It still does not feel completely right, but manageable. Drove 5 daily C's without disconnect, but I had those very rarely in 455, so no conclusion there. So far I can recommend 457 on Gt dd pro.
@@Sebkur399 Its supposed to be like this. FFB now increases with speed and downforce (which also increases with speed). Thats why its light on slow corners, and high on highspeed corners (and also in the straight). Fraga even said cars IRL behave like this. So its not "no FFB in slow corners" but "light FFB in slow corners", the FFB is there even in slow corners.
I don't really like the new physics on the controller, maybe I will get used to it but a completely different experience from yesterday to today in the daily B Spa race, the cars on hards have less grip, you need to lift now trough Radilon and o Rogue where before you could go Flat out with some gt3 cars , cars now slide more into turns on braking, not really sold on it...Oh and the stupid penalty system still isn't fixed.
I found the same as you on controller for that race. Im not sure if I like the changes or not. Could not get near my pre-patch qually time due to have to lift on those corners now. Might be more realistic now though, which is probably a good thing overall.
Really cant eait to try the new update or the game in general. Haven't had access to GT for over 3 months. 😵 Hopefully that physics bug gets sorted fast although it doesnt seem to be that common from what im seeing. But engine swaps make it stand out?
I was able to get 1.05 with the road version Sprinter Trueno 1600von eiger but you can't push the cars through corners like you used to. I still don't like the physics changes on controller which I use I'm not a wheel user. I'm a quick driver. But even I don't like the feel of cars now. I also now need to control my braking on controller more. The cars are more prone to snap understeer or oversteer. Slower to turn you need to turn into corners quicker and sooner now. I was having difficulty driving my Trueno which is a good handling car through.tne straight past the tunnel to the last corner. The car should be stable without losing grip but I had understeer had to slow down to speed we didn't have to before.
I find the actual typography of the track matters way more now. Weight transfer and load transitions really toss the car around in the best way. Eiger really illustrates how much more dynamic the physics are now.
That's a good change to be honest, but I'm worried about high tires wearing cars on race. For example I race Jaguar on manu, well you know the lobbies I'm in, and I just died on Ingerlagos due to the Jaguar front wearing + the fact I'm on controller But now it's way more difficult for the controller player, not for being fast, but for the tires. I used to play on -2 sensitivity, and I think I need to go on - 6 to use my tires as before. I'll work on that tires wearing, but I think controller players will struggle a bit more with the tires
The people complaining the most are the casuals who don’t pay attention to tuning at all. They think slapping on the maximum upgrades and slamming the car to the ground solves everything. In reality tuning requires testing and must be tailor made to improve each individual’s habits and the car’s characteristics. A lot of people think the cars drive horrible but are running ridiculous bottomed out setups on bumpy tracks .
My car of choice in group 4 lost almost a second per lap. It was a chaotic lap to say the least. Not a fan. Upper B driver, sometimes I'll get into the lower A on a good week
I have a dd pro and tried gt7 today and the ffb is extremely weak now I turned all settings to 0 or off and still weak even adjusted in game to 10 and still weak it’s like it has no ffb or very strong power steering. I was really hoping they improved the game. I guess I’ll just stick to ACC.
I really don't understand the point of all this. The physics of the game was the last thing to be modified. New online activities, updating the weekly races with new types of cars, the possibility of winning certain cars or prizes based on the results of a specific event, more accessible championships, and much more. Gran Turismo was really that beautiful balance between a true simulator and a game with more arcade physics, a perfect balance for both wheel users and those, like me, who use the controller. I just tried it (I'm A+) and I'm honestly tempted to give up. I'll try to give it a second chance. I'm really sorry.
GT7 (and GTS) previous physics had issues with its physics. Maybe we casuals don't cared that much, we were having fun anyway, but the serious players did. That was preventing GT7 to grow as esports. The update is trying to fix this.
Online players are the loudest speakers and their opinion is heard the most. I say this as someone who plays almost exclusively online. Until they make a competitive AI I probably won't care much anyway, let's hope for GT8 to add sophy as the new AI

What settings and firmware are you using?
I think I'm using the latest firmware. I checked it a week ago. I have the wheel on auto settings and GT7 settings @ 5 & 5.
I didn't fiddle with anything. Before I would sometimes have to turn down the ffb settings in GT7 to 3 or 4 depending on the car I was driving.
@@martin4458 I'll try it out, thank you
Playing on controller, I found the RH tyres more grippy.
Feels more like a real car I love it.
What's the name of the lamp you have in background? The standing LED look thingy
i'm pretty sure that pd watches your videos, please pd increase the ff torque so that people with g29 can enjoy this update to the max.
the update is really good in terms of physics as I can feel a lot more detail on my wheel - please fix the torque. right now it feels this update is focused on players with 8-12nm torque wheels. :(
Yeah, I really liked it.
I did a 5 lap race in Nürburg 24h layout, x3 tyre wear and the tyres were cone on lap 3. It was really hard to drive that lap.
Be interesting to see if you changed any wheel settings once you got used to the new update
Your last wheel settings video was great. Maybe a possible updated video (if you changed anything on wheel or in-game)?
Until now he wasnt changed his settings besides updating the firmware
DD Pro 8Nm. not same as last night, lot less input from wheel.
Thx for the review 👍
Please ask to set up the Fanatec dd pro 8nm steering wheel for new patch1.49 Thank you.
After 300 hours perfecting my driving, i now need countless hours getting used to the new physics. Hope they fix the strong understeer

@@FMwerksfactory when you say DD+ do you mean DD Pro or is that a different wheel?
Again, thank you!
hello, please, can you write which version exactly has the wheel base, steering wheel and wireless QR?
@@zdeno7697 For DD+ users:
Use the base firmware that comes with PC Driver 455 (2.0.1.4)
The WQR firmware you should be using is the test hot fix (1.1.0.3) that is available on the Fanatec Forums.

GT DD Pro Base : 1.2.0.9
WQR: 6.0.1.1

I lost some FFb on my 5nm DD pro. It feels a little bit week than before, in turning ore high Speed. I change the in Game FFB higher on 8. But bevor i have 5. This was better. But i like the new physics. Hope Fanatec Improve the Software for DD pro. I think the Update is now optimized for the new steering wheel DD extreme…
I have come across the same experience with my dd gt pro as well only hooked with the 5nm but 8nm capable. I thought it was just me but yes def felt weaker than before
To be fair tcs 1 doesn't feel too bad if you're smooth with throttle input.
I've never driven a car on slicks or a race car, but I did push many road cars to their limit, and I can vouch for these physics being much closer to real life.
lots of accidents today as people trying to get use to the new physics

Where is the dead zone settings. They really should just add it already. No other game is effected by the tiny twitch R3 has on my controller and it always makes me look sideways at the car. Being on controller is hard enough
I'm not a fan of the force feedback on my logitec wheel. Such a huge difference on this wheel.
The physics updates worked ok on the G29. I did need to increase the sensitivity and torque settings of the force feedback (3-6-6) then it felt nice. 👍🏼
I was about .5 faster average.
Happy days. 👍🏼

Hi man, could you please write down your new wheelbase and in game settings? Thank you 😁
It's in the video description
@@efenba not the new ones since todays update
If you have to change so much from the physics, then something was wrong to start with, or the new change is wrong.
Hopefully that physics bug gets sorted fast although it doesnt seem to be that common from what im seeing. But engine swaps make it stand out?
feels weird with my feedback also, i use the logitech pro
I like the physics change. It’s more difficult, but it should be. It felt too arcade like at times before.
I find the actual typography of the track matters way more now. Weight transfer and load transitions really toss the car around in the best way. Eiger really illustrates how much more dynamic the physics are now.
That's a good change to be honest, but I'm worried about high tires wearing cars on race.
For example I race Jaguar on manu, well you know the lobbies I'm in, and I just died on Ingerlagos due to the Jaguar front wearing + the fact I'm on controller
But now it's way more difficult for the controller player, not for being fast, but for the tires. I used to play on -2 sensitivity, and I think I need to go on - 6 to use my tires as before. I'll work on that tires wearing, but I think controller players will struggle a bit more with the tires
Fanatec have been dropping the ball for a while now.
Tgt2 feedback is good.
My g29 feels wack as now it feels so light
Thank you
The people complaining the most are the casuals who don’t pay attention to tuning at all.
What to do with ABS settings?
Digit said to use ABS weak in TT to extract those extra tents, and Default in race as is more stable and seems to have lower tirewear.

@@efenba You are probably right. Although I have never heard our dear Digit complain about specific issues regarding physics and, from what I can see, esports seem to be very popular and appreciated. The new physics update has destroyed GT7 for me!
I like drifting and have only tested half of my drift cars and can't manage to drift a clean lap! Which wasn't a problem before!
The tires now have lousy grip for me, the load change depending on the weight of the car can no longer be calculated correctly. The tires are very sensitive to feedback from the steering wheel, as if I had balloon tires on them! How can you destroy such an awesome game like this!
Really sucks Its not fun on wheel anymore trust me
