  • PROBE X,Y,Z OFFSETS & TRAVEL LIMITS - CALIBRATE CENTER OF BED AND PROBE MARGINS. ENDER3 SILENT BOARD. If you have an Ender 3, Bltouch v 3.1, and MicroSwiss Direct Drive setup. All you need to do is install the bin file and do the probe z offset.
    If you're working with a different printer setup; you'll have to set your x, y, z probe offsets. Set your travel limits and margins. This video is a little long. If you're familiar with bed leveling and travel limits, you can skip steps or combine two or more steps into one.
    This video is for beginners and it's best to follow each steps even if the seem redundant. This will give you a better idea of what line of code does in the process.
    If you decide on using the gcode instead of the stl files. The set temperature is 210 in the Gcode so use PLA or filament that works within that temperature.
    Thanks for watching
    James.

    I apologize if this is not the right place to ask, but I'm having trouble with X and Y settings. I'm new to printing and this is the first time I came across this issue. Everything is printing about 50mm to the right, on the bed. There is a purge line about 50mm in, from the left side and then it prints off the right side of the bed. If I move things to the left, in Cura, it still prints that line but everything is on the bed now. I have an Aquila with BLtouch, using Aquila BLtouch V5.8.2 firmware, and have Cura as the slicer. I'm at a loss.

    On the computer, is that the firmware for the printer you are configuring?
    What is the program you are using to make changes?
    I'm using an ender 3 pro with a bl touch with a v4.2.2 board that uses bin file on sd card for uploading. Noob questions here sorry.

    • @DiyProJames
      @DiyProJames  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it's the firmware. You can use vscode or arduino to make the edits to compile the marlin firmware.

  • @precepts8893
    @precepts8893 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can't remove the G29 command if you're using the BLTouch, can you? And, if i can't, how can I stop the print from going off the board? Please.

  • @GlenEdwards
    @GlenEdwards 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    DUDE! You said this video was for beginners, i'm following along fine until at 2:59 you jump to some configurations screen which is a complete mystery! How are we supposed to get that??? I'm clicking everything I can find in Cura and I can't bring up anything that looks like that.

    Will this work for ender 3 pro with skr mini E3V2, BLtouch, microswiss direct?
    I am loosing my mind here. I think I stepped well over my tech bounds.
    The bltouch is not squared to the bed but the nozzle is centered when printing. I get high and low spots on the first layer. I am at a loss.
    Please help

    • @DiyProJames
      @DiyProJames  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There should be no difference when plugging the values for the offsets unless you have different mount system. Whether skr mini or 4.2.7 board setting up the marlin firmware is the same. You just have to specify the correct board and make modifications to the configuration.h file.

      @@DiyProJames
      The firmware is updated with the proper board as of this morning. Problem still there. The nozzle is centered, the xy is on point. The offset for the bltouch was set this morning. I printed the 8.3mm spacer and lowered the bltouch to the right hight.
      Leveled the corners, did the z offset, did the ABL and the problem still present.
      When it does the ABL; the left side is closer to the edge than the right side. Also something I noticed today was when the bed travels forward it knocks the y adjuster.
      I don't know what you mean by mount. I took the stock ender 3 nozzle off and installed a microswiss all metal extruder with the microswiss direct drive system and put on a blower kit i printed....

    • @DiyProJames
      @DiyProJames  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@destin732 The nozzle and bltouch have a positional relationship. When you print a different type of mount to acommodate the fan etc. The bltouch's position moves in relation to the nozzle. So not all mounts will be the same. Some people will mount the bltouch in front of the printer head. Some to the side. So you have to change the values of relationship between them. Hence different mounting system.

  • @jdawg15805
    @jdawg15805 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ok maybe im dumb. But how the hell did you print an X on the center of the bed before setting your offsets??

    • @DiyProJames
      @DiyProJames  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was probably starting from a point with certain upgrades already in place. Everyone will have a different starting point. The point of the video is on how to get your different offsets and calibration. Also, videos are from a playlist where I may have already performed certain mods.

  • @paulf462
    @paulf462 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you have a condensed 2 minute video that shows how to calibrate on the Ender printer menu? I have the Ender 3 Max (bed 300x300) but instead when I move the nozzle to the edges of the bed it's not reading 0s and 300s it's reading like -20 and 280s...Isn't there a quick and easy way to center the nozzle and click a button to reset or save?

    • @DiyProJames
      @DiyProJames  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There is no quick and easy way. This is a method you can use for any printer with any bed size if your using the marlin firmware... Sorry this is one of the frustrations of 3d printing. Unless your buying a high end 3d printer that come with support. This is the way we do it. One of the reasons 3d printers end up as door stops in a couple of weeks.

    i did all of what your video has said successfully, and cannot get my printer to auto home with the bl touch, i know its working correctly, i dont have any bl touch options on the options inside printer, i do have the 4.2.7 board

    • @DiyProJames
      @DiyProJames  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're not seeing any of the bltouch options most likely you didn't install the new firmware.

  • @Onerabidmonk1
    @Onerabidmonk1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am very new and installed a BLTouch. Now everything is messed up. The probe keeps trying to start off of the bed and then just stops because it encounters nothing but air.
    I tried to follow the video but got lost early on when you talked about compiling firmware. I don't know anything about that or even what program you are using.

    • @DiyProJames
      @DiyProJames  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Watch my previous videos. This is in a playlist for upgrading to the 4.2.7 silent board. There is no way to fit everything in one video. You just have to get familiar with different aspects of the 3d printer. I am using vscode and marlin firmware.
