I started this game June 28th and immediately came to youtube to find out what I should make first. (You helped SO much so thank you for that)
After the 2nd episode I had unlocked so much and stopped watching AND BIG REGRET. LOL I am so JEALOUS at how gorgeous the layout of your base is... Should've just kept following along with you, instead I'm having to take everything down and reconfigure bc I'm not happy with it. Anyways I'm loving following along and I agree the belts are a pain.
Thank you very much for watching. I'm glad I could help.
Thanks Surtr. The setup really needs proper prior planning, which of course isn't possible until you have unlocked everything.
Good for us we have Surtr Planning Consultants to lead us the way!
I am sure they will resolve the janky building issues. Your subtle videos will no doubt assist in highlighting this, so thanks again.
Thanks. Hopefully the belts and conveyors get some attention. They are the one part of the game that is a bit frustrating.
Just remember that before you go over to the sulfur mine that you also need to build a big solar panel and battery because you only put up a wind mill before and there has been at least 3-4 waves since you did that so the mine has not been running for a while.
That is the plan. Thanks.
Another great helping video. I did find something I hadn't seen you cover. I stumbbled onto it. When you are making the BIG buildings run to the crain and hit " E " you get to ride up and watch it being built. Thanks for another video!
Oh wow, that's a great tip. Thanks.
You had me shouting at the screen to actually use the warehouse! Half of what you are doing would not be needed if you just store stuff! Once in the warehouse it becomes available anywear for production. I have an entire warehouse for every single commodity and product. The issue is that if you route two different things it can fill with one leaving less room for the other, so I just have an entire warehouse for each thing. I have multiple ones on the sulphur island as well so i have an infinite supply of the stuff from anywhere I go.
At that stage I had no idea what the warehouses did. My eyes have been opened. Thanks for watching.
always great to watch and to support you ....have a great weekend
Many thanks.
Your setup is clean and neat. Very nice planning
Many thanks.
Change your plate storage to a double and you’ll have your second output
Thanks for the info on the drone, didn’t know about that
Great idea, thanks.
if you press f5 in drone mode, it gets rid of the drone.
I was at this step when started to search for advice on a factory setup and came here. I want to prevent more spaghetti.
Place a single conveyor belt at the exit of storage containers to display the contents to help you find what you are looking for.
Yup, like we do on Satisfactory.
maybe build the rockit platform over the water
Maybe! Thanks.
great so far. fell the tree!
If you could tell me how, I would be very grateful.
Loving the OCD neatness, but bring all production together for convenience is now not needed with the warehouses. Once an item goes into a warehouse it is avaliable to you anywhere on the map either in crafting station or out in world building, like each warehouse is an extension to your inventory. So you store in warehouse final products that you need to build things with, For example have a dedicated warehouse for Iron Plates you never run out of plate for making belts and pipes.
So this means a far away iron node you can make a set up just to make iron plates which goes into a warehouse. Then you can have dedicated set ups for concrete, etc and have different warehouse dotted all over the map.
I have all mine set up on the other side of the island so I don't have to look at the mess I created :D but it's soooo good not having to have things in your inventory when you're running all over to set up greenhouses and such
Oh wow. I didn't know that they did that. Well that is going to change a few things.
Then a warehouse would be good for sulfurproduktion on the other island!!👍
@@uniqabb 😉Stay tuned.
@@surtrplays Ive also realiced that you can build the big 😉stores on top of each other....thats a great feature!
❤❤
Thanks.
Love your play though.
Thank you for watching.
Do you know what T1 warehouse do? I find it handy for base- to middle- item, speeds ut handcrafting a bunch.
Thanks. I have no idea.
Put materials in the T1 warehouse, then whenever you build something the game uses the warehouse materials before your inventory, so you spend less time running back and forth collecting matierials. The tooltip in the build menu gives it away.
That's actually a really good feature. Thanks.
How can you make the belt so neat?
Not too easily but it can be done.
Does anyone know when the big boy wave stops wiping your wind turbines and solar panels 😅
Get the large solar panels and batteries. The wave doesn't damage them.
how do you get the drone?
Press V
@@surtrplays thanks buddy much appreciated
im trying to automate sulfer :(
I hope you got it right.
I do not like the Warehouses, way too big and no out ports so less use for automation. No filtering either, so little control of how much are stored of what, unless manually fiddle. Only positive is teleport of stored items (as an extended inventory) when to manually build stuff.
Warehouse are for final build products only, I hope in the future that each individual in ports linked up to seperate storages within the warehouse, so a work around for now only one type of item per warehouse.
I'm still figuring things out. I didn't know about the functions of the warehouses so not I regret making everything so compact.
@@surtrplays Can still have the main production lines compact, "just" have to rearrange (and less Storage T1 and T2). In the full game there can be more large devices planned, if so I do not welcome that.
@@StyxAnnihilator I just played with the warehouses. Awesome. I will definitely be playing it differently next time.
Always enjoy seeing what the game dev are making, but this isn't it. Satisfactory is miles ahead of this game.
This is an solo dev. Coffee Stain is a AAA studio.
