However, you know I do not believe that this particular breed of fungus can be bred or reproduced it was most likely specifically engineered. The carpet isn't the thing The Foundation should look into. I mean, the fungus in the carpet could explain certain types of vampires... infecting a corpse instead of a mere carpet. I mean, it could feed upon the microbes that cause rot for eons to perfectly preserve the corpse while using said corpse's preserved faculties, body, memories, mannerisms, etc... to feed on blood. The carpet might have been created by some monster-hunter injuring such a "vampire" and it bleeding upon the carpet. This may be safe but its creator is Euclid or worse.
That was a fascinating SCP. I can see that if it could be controlled it could become a useful tool. Maybe engineer the organisms to have a much longer dormancy after feeding?
Interesting… the experiment logs should’ve continued to find out how much intelligence an observer should have until the SPC ceases to attack. Will a dog observing work? Will a primate work? A dolphin? Or is it just limited to humans…
