You should move to Southeast Asia especially Indonesia and The Philippines we have so many ice rinks since early 1990's and open all year round from around 10 AM to 10 PM DAILY !!!
It's suicidal to do figure ice skate on a concrete, and rubber wheels cannot replace ice and steel blades

Interesting. I am always starting the sit spin by squating first and then going up. Not up and down . Both could be possible never tried that way. For the camel spin, it is easier if you start from parallel or twizzle, and the difference compared with ice is to use the heels this time.

I absolutey do not understand how to spin more than once. I'm still a beginner but on ice one-foot spins aren't a problem while as soon as my toe stop hits the pavement I lose so much speed that I can't do more than one or two spins. I tried balancing on the front wheel and that helps a bit but most skaters seem to be able to spin with the toe stop on the ground. Is there a trick to it or do I just have to keep practicing and go into the spin with more power?

Hello :) do you have any recommendations on what wheels I should get (brand and hardness) for rougher surfaces, I don’t want to have to keep driving to my park to skate, but the wheels I have now (86a 72mm on rollline linea frames) cause my teeth to chatter skating on asphalt, it’s a very rocky, unsmooth ride to my park that’s 15 min away. I'm gonna try these moves but with a normal freestyle set up. I don't have a setup that looks like an ice blade like you do.

That's so cool! On the first few minutes where you spin on your toe, are you avoiding leaning on the toe breaks, or they barely graze the ground?

im on my toe and first wheel, try not to put too much pressure though, or you will stop

awesome video! i am wanting to get roller blades or skates and have a preference towards quad style skates, but i definitely want to skate in figure skating style. would i be able to achieve this with quads or inlines are the best way to go? i want to be able to still do all of these spins; will quads allow me to do this? thank you!

I am considering buying some in-line figure skates as it is really difficult to get to my local ice rink at the moment due to work commitments.
So I have two questions about in-line figure skating I was hoping you could answer:
    1. how much harder is it, really, to spin on inline figure skates compared to spinning on ice? (ideally if you can give me a percentage or rating ie if ice was 1/10 difficulty the same thing on in-line skates would be ?/10 difficulty? (I keep seeing people who are clearly very good skaters who don’t seem to be able to do anything very fast or beyond basic in terms of spins on in-line skates…..so am I correct in assuming it is waaay harder to spin on these (regardless of brand) than to spin on ice skates on ice?
    2. Have you used yours on different types of concrete and if so how much difference does it make if the concrete is rougher (ie the grey stuff they make outdoor tennis courts out of) vs the smooth concrete slabs you appear to be on. By difference I mean both in terms of how long the wheels last, and also if your wheels are worn, does that affect their ‘edges’ and performance, the same way a blunt edge affects ice skates?
If anyone else reading this comment has some experience with in line figure skates vs ice figure skates, I’d also love to hear your experiences

Actually looking further into your video I am feeling like maybe you just have to do everything much ‘better’ on off ice skates? Ie you have to be in the correct edge for the back spin, when you can get away with being on the wrong edge on ice, u have to be on the correct edge on the inline skates to have any chance at doing the spin (or jump or whatever)? (Which would be a great way to improve technique for good skaters, and a great way to suck all the fun out of it for terrible skaters like me lol)
