By the way, I have watched a ton of videos for years to find help and I have to say you just might be the first one to show how to do the work and also included putting it back together; NICE job because even though people wont admit it, they are always nervous about forgetting something during reassembly

Great video. I was ready to replace injectors on my 2000 Cavalier 2.4. Instead, I tried injector cleaner in full tank of gas. After 1 week the car runs near perfect.

Craftsman used to make great hand tools, I wish I had bought a full set like yours, when I had the chance. Great step by step demo.

They still do. I trust them over other tools.

+AARON Ohm Not anymore; all of their stuff is chinese made. I'm through with Craftsman after 35 years.

Thanks for the detailed video. It inspired me to tackle the injectors on my 2007 Pontiac G6 with the 2.4L Ecotech engine. It was much easier than yours in that I did not have to brake any lines loose. I did not have a fuel system relay in my relay box, but there was a pressure valve on the main line, where I was able to release the pressure. After removing the Air Intake assembly, all I needed was to remove 2 - 10mm bolts which held the fuel rail down and 1 more 10mm bolt which held the fuel rail bracket on the back side of the the valve cover (to give me the ability to move the fuel rail hose back once disconnected). The fuel rail came out easily as I did not have to worry about any return line. Fortunately I was able to purchase a set of 4 new injectors on Ebay for $40. All in all, I was done in 30 minutes. I used a dielectric grease on all of the o-rings as I don't remember that regular oil was a good lubricant.

Thanks for this. Was going crazy with my moms old car. SHe got a new car so the Grand Am sat for 3 years. The fuel pump was bad. Replaced it. Next thing I know the thing doesn't start and gets harder to turn over. I remove the plugs and notice that the cylinders are full of gas. I spin the gas out and it keeps filling up!! The darn injectors were stuck open! Never seen that before. Time to clean them. At least that seems like the problem.....

Thanks for this fantastic video, Michael! I was working on the exact same car yesterday, and it was so easy to follow the steps required to swap out the fuel injectors. Really appreciate it! -Lee

Man your video is the only one on the internet that shows how to remove the fuel injector connector. Seems common sense but I tried all day yesterday to get it removed. I'm assuming mines are frozen or something cuz I pulled the lock tab up and it's still not coming out but kudos for clarifying

The clip that holds the injector in just slides and it stays on the rail.
Just use the pick and slide it from the base of the injector...Great Job 👍

I had to do it a little differently because I could not get the bracket on the left side off so I took off the bolts that locked in return line and removed both. it didn't leave me with much room to work with but I got the job done. thanks!

Well done, would like to have seen how you determined it was the injector and not ignition related.

Nicely done, great job in this video, easy to follow and easy to listen to you. I do have one question, why did you not change all 4 injectors while you where there? Cost? I would have done all 4 even though you knew the code error for which cylinder, but thats just me. Great job

How do you remove that T25 screw from the bottom of the fuel rail to remove that bracket holding it in place. You skipped over that part, and that's exactly where I'm stuck!! Please help!!

  • @rubberman2006

How did you determine it was the injector? I have a random misfire on cylinder 4. Changed plugs, swapped coils, changed the rubber plug boot. Still misfiring. I’m think it might be the ignition housing cover

This video was very informative. I got a P0107 trouble code on my 96 Cavalier, and while I was looking at it a guy who happened to be a mechanic looked at it and said I had a misfire. I'm wondering if it could be a fuel injector or the map sensor. What do you think? I got the trouble code when I took it to O'reilly's.

If you break the locking tabs on the connectors will that cause any problems?

good video man. should you pull out the fuel pump relay on any other vehicle to relieve the fuel pressure before performing this repair?

I have a question. I had fuel rail leak on a 2001 Z24. I didn't know how to fix it myself nor the time. I had Chevrolet fix the leak for me. My question is after the repair I lost considerable mpg. I have asked and no one seems to know why. Any feedback would help.

Not sure my whole thing will fit in here so...I have a "no start" problem and you would not believe the things I have tried already! I know it's a no-spark or no-fuel problem but cannot pinpoint what, no matter what I try, it doesn't help. Last night my nephew was here* thanks to my teenage son, i was missing tools needed, he told me to try to disconnect the fuel rail 2 see if there's any fuel coming through..i dont have a code reader, is there a way to know if fuel inj is bad just by sight?

I know, old news, I used vice grips and a T-25 bit, after the fuel rail was loose this gave me a little bit more wiggle room

  • @acezack05

Can anyone please tell me what size wrenches are needed for the fuel rail fitting? Mine are apparently too small and I don't have the money to keep buying new ones. Please let me know. Thank you!

    • @tonyfry6531
      @tonyfry6531 4 ปีที่แล้ว

you probably figured out already, but anyone else it is 1"
and the bracket comes off with 2- 10 mm , this gives you more room on caviler 2.4
