Seems like Air India and the Indian embassies did a good job bringing home stranded Indian citizens overseas. The flight seemed to be pretty full and packed or am I wrong?

Any idea about below points:
1) Are tickets available easily for all available dates or did you felt any shortage of tickets?
2) with 5 year old kid, does it require hotel quarantine or it will be home quarantine.

1. For phase3 when ticket booking window was opened, tickets got sold quickly, luckily we finally got one slot open and booked it so you need to be quick and ready when window opens up
Also booking via app was faster than website
2. In Mumbai, 7 days hotel quarantine was mandatory for everyone followed by 7 days home quarantine. For other states, you need to check their guidelines
Glad you are back , hopefully this pandemic will come to an end soon . It has just Disturbed everybody's life .

Thank you Snehal . This was useful . Can you pls confirm that charging point are working ? As you mentioned in flight entertainment were not operating . As we carry out on devices wanted to make sure that we can charge our devices .
Secondly on carry on baggage : I read and heard form few of the fellow Indians who recently travelled . We can carry two bag - one laptop bag and other carry on standard bag . Could you pls share me your experience and weighs limits for carry on baggage .

Hi Snehal.. Thanks for detail video and the tips. Couple of questions from my end. Hope you can address this for me.
1) For economy class, are they allowing 2*23 kgs check-in and 1 7Kg cabin bag and a laptop bag?
2) Are we allowed to carry water bottles inside the flight? If so, is there any limit?
3) If we travel with kids, the 7 day quarantine is still reqd in destination city or we can catch the domestic flight to our destination?
4) How is the facilities/cost in quarantine hotel?
5) Is there any support from Airport authority or govt body to fly back to our destination after quarantine?

Firstly thanks 🙏
1. Cabin bag 7kgs and personal bag 5kgs.
2. You can take empty bottle and fill it again after security I really don’t know how much bottles you can carry inside but surely 1 per person could take it.
3. If you have connecting flight then you can travel directly but if it’s not then there are some transportation available for some of the destinations that you’ll come to know when you’ll reach there.
4. Cost of hotel varies, you can choose budge hotel too. Our hotel cost was 4500/- per night.
5. After quarantine you can ask hotel to make some arrangement or you can make it on your own.

When we travelled according to AI baggage guidelines, for 1 person it was 2 check-in bags 23 kgs weight each , one carry on bag weight 7 kgs and one personal bag weight 5kgs was allowed.

Would you please share your experience regarding in flight lavatory in terms of cleanliness and on how to maintain the hiegine, so we don't catch virus from there . My parents who are pretty old with pre existing medical condition are going to travel soon but scared. Looking for information for them. Thank u in advance.
Hi Deepika Chaturvedi, the lavatory was clean and it was maintained properly, hand wash as well as hand sanitizers were kept in. The precautions that you can take is to carry extra hand gloves so you can use it after using the lavatory and also carry your own sanitizer everywhere you go.

Thanks for documenting your experience! Can you briefly tell about the prebooking experience, did you have to take a covid test before taking flight because on the registration page they ask for covid test details? Also do they provide face shields or do we need to carry that as well.
david7anto when we booked there was no Covid test to be done. And yes they do provide face shield but this kit you’ll get inside the plane, so you can carry your own for the airport.

How full was the flight? I will be traveling with my kid. Were there kids on board? Were they wearing shields and masks full time?
The flight was 90% occupied and kids were wearing masks not face shield.

I am not sure as I haven’t used it but I saw people were using it to charge phone. I would suggest to carry your own power bank and not rely on USB charging ports in flight.

Can you please tell me how many days before I should go to take Covid tast before flying to India . ? my flight ticket for Torornto to Mumbai on 7th Dec since they asking 72 hours report , so how many days before I should go for covid tast in Canada before flying to India . If 5 days before is ok or 4 days before is ok ? I am just confused regarding timing and hours calculation.

Rita Jindal You can take separate food bag in your carry on bag or hand luggage as TSA officers may instruct travelers to separate items from carry-on bags that can clutter bags and obstruct clear images on the X-ray machine.
