      Did the buds get updates? I'm especially interested in improved transparency mode. They sounded a bit robotic during the day I've had them.

      @NegyedMisi I haven't had an issue. They're transparent enough a security guard reminded me they were in before going through a metal detector.

    These are probably best if you have a Pixel device. I have a Pixel 9 myself and these go pretty well with them. The only reason I'd consider getting them is if they go on a good sale and really like a good transparency mode on your earbuds.
    The transparency is incredibly good on these and the closest I've had to open ear bud level of awareness when listening to music. Otherwise these are perfectly fine and best when used in the Pixel ecosystem.

    • @DHRME

      They're also plenty fine with other devices, considering they have true multipoint as well as studio switch

    I had 2 observations with these, I've had them for a few days.
    1) swipe gestures are actually very responsive but I had the feeling I am punching/picking the buds out of my ears when swiping from back to front. You kinda grab the edge of it if you're not careful enough. I hope you know what I mean.
    2) I found ANC Tier S and transparency Tier A. I heard my steps in a room a little robotic, like knocking and also speech sounded a little mushy or unnatural.
    Looks like I am remaining a stem-buds guy.

    • @shethsa
      @shethsa หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's disappointing as I was looking to replace my oneplus buds pro 3 with these especially for transparency. But if your voice sounds mushy, that's a deal breaker for me.

    • @NegyedMisi
      @NegyedMisi หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @shethsa I'm probably describing it a bit over. I'm actually getting them next week. (I'm replacing Huawei Freebuds Pro 3. The ones I had for a few days was an open box item, I've sent it back) These can be improved with updates.

      @@shethsa I have to correct myself. Using the PixelBuds Pro 2 for over 2 weeks now, they are just superb. Forget the mushy transparency mode. It may not be perfect (what's perfect?). I love the controls, ANC is good, battery life is excellent, it's super comfortable.

  • @NegyedMisi
    @NegyedMisi หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I finally have the PixelBuds Pro 2 and I figured out something interesting: Using LE Audio mode I can still use multipoint. This was not possible on the Sony LinkBuds Fit. LE Audio is kinda beta on those and if you use LE Audio, with you lose spatial audio, multipoint and LDAC. However, with the PixelBuds Pro 2 it works.
    Also oddly, I don't get gesture controls with LE Audio on. I may contact Google support to see if this intented. I do not regret getting these buds. I've had them for a few hours and they did not sound as good and transparency was also kinda weak but with more testing I was wrong.

      @@DHRME This is a crowd sourced network which uses Bluetooth as the baseline technology to roughly triangulate the position of items and devices like trackers, headphones etc. and display them on a map. There is no GPS involved. GPS is a technology which uses satellites to accurately measure the location of the GPS receiver. This is very power consuming though and therefore not a suitable solution for devices like headphones. So Bluetooth eventually and for some devices even UWB for accurate tracking within very small distances.

    Very much like there is an Apple-tax there is also a Google-tax. When I listened to to Pixel Buds Pro, they didn't sound too different from the Pixel A Buds; ANC did make a slight difference. However, compared to the more budget brands they weren't any better; the Earfun Air Pro 3 and the Liberty 4 NC have better sound and better ANC. All this to say that Google has to either improve performance or they have to lower their prices. Currently, their buds don't compete, even below their price point.

      I had the same thoughts but after trying them out they actually sound good. The quality of the drivers and tuning are superior than codec alone. I tried a $70 buds with LDAC which sounds decent but can only get far with sucky hardware. Besides, these buds support LE audio (energy efficient and improves sound quality) I'll take that over LDAC which consumes a lot of power for both the buds and the phone. I learned my lesson. There's a reason why these buds cost a lot along with Airpods.

      @@rolins3279 Again, it's the codecs in calls. Not the microphones. 🤷‍♀️ The microphones have great audio quality when used in other instances that aren't involved in calling.
      Also, they absolutely do almost everything better than $50 earbuds lmao. Especially battery life for their size, and abilities to track their location.

      You've literally spammed this on every Google pixel buds pro 2 video you weirdo. Go outside and play or something!

      @@rolins3279 voice isolation on my Pixel Buds Pro was insanely good on calls. No 50$ earbuds will match that. I even tested my PBP against the Sony wF100 XM4 and chose the PBP for this reason.

      @@newfnshow031 I actually have really liked my Pixel Buds Pro, particularly the sound quality and call/mic quality. They do an incredible job isolating my voice in loud situations, and I tested them side by side against the Sony WF1000 XM4 and Jabra elite, before deciding on the pixel buds pro. Can't wait for my Pixel Buds Pro 2's to arrive tomorrow!!

    Well geez, I have these earbuds on pre-order but after hearing the phone call review and the sound quality review I'm considering canceling my pre-order. I am an owner of the pixel buds pro and the sound quality and the call quality weren't great on those. I was just using those earbuds for the technology with the assistant. It appears that they are going the way of trying to incorporate Gemini and that seemingly is the great difference between the buds pro and the buds pro too. They removed the touch and hold to hear your notifications feature from the buds pro and I'm assuming because they want people to buy the new buds with the Gemini. I think that's kind of cheap. It doesn't sound like Google did much to improve these earbuds other than the physical appearance and Gemini.
