My grandmother, who was born in the 1800s, used to tell about the scourge, which was diphtheria. She said that a lot of kids died from it. It must have been a much scarier time to live.

Diphtheria was indeed a feared disease in the 1800s, claiming many young lives, making it a very frightening time for families. ❤️

@barbarareynolds3506 I understand that you may be expressing frustration or skepticism about modern medical practices like vaccinations. However, it's important to recognize that advancements in medicine, particularly vaccines, have played a crucial role in reducing the spread of deadly diseases and saving millions of lives worldwide. While the past might seem nostalgic, the reality is that diseases like smallpox, polio, and measles caused widespread suffering and death before vaccines were developed. Vaccines today are based on decades of scientific research and have been proven to be safe and effective in preventing serious illnesses. It's always okay to ask questions and seek more information about medical practices, but it's also important to base our decisions on science and the evidence available to ensure the health and safety of everyone in the community.
