This video deserves a lot more likes ! Clear and concise.
I used this for 2 years, but forgotten some steps I didn't documented.
I would add the strength of cloud init is that you can (very easily) create yaml config files to say which packages you want installed on, the users, with their ssh pub keys, the commands you want to run (for example update, enable ufw, openning ssh port, etc..).
The step after is to create as many custom VMs you want in a single command and let cloud-init prepare them without any other tool needed
Thanks Buddy
indeed it does
Thank you.
Hi! Am I stuck with the disk size I set when I created the template? How can I use the template to create a new VM with a disk size of 100GB for example?
before you boot the VM in the Gui under hardware select the disk and disk actions and resize, if you have already booted the VM you may need to resize the disk in the distro and an partitions that have been created
I am new to Proxmox,
can somebody tell me what's the benefit of using that Ubuntu Image over Ubuntu Server image and also why not creating VM in GUI with wizard?
The main benefit to this approach is scale. If you spin up multiple vms then this approach is great for a kubernetes cluster for example. For just a standard vm I would just use the wizard
How to hear you over all the music. Good, it stopped. The rest was really good stuff.
Cheers for the feedback I do try and play around with backing tracks some do seem to come up louder on YT than they do in davinci ill have a play around with settings for future videos
