Grace, Gaga got nominated at the golden globes, critics choice, SAG and BAFTA for House of Gucci. She only missed at the Oscars. So I don’t think it’s so accurate to say that people didn’t receive her well in that role.

Culturally what Paramount and Warner Bros. have in common is that they seem to value the voice of the author more than most studios.
I still haven't been convinced that Zaslav is planning on selling WB. Everything he is doing seems to contradict that. Spending major money on DC's new studio over sea's and his announced plan to acquire a studio whether it be Paramount or another studio doesn't make sense if he is trying to sell. I know that is what he does and I respect the opinion of Grace and others that have covered this but just seem counter productive to me.
I'm not convinced either. I haven't been convinced of it since Grace broke the story way back. But we'll see how things go.
Why would Warner Bros want to sell though? They’re such a prestige big company. They don’t need to sell. Idk why we’re talking about it like it’s final & totally gonna happen when they don’t need it

@@NLpop I don’t think those are two different projects. That untitled project listed on IMDB refers to the movie that he announced for Unviersal which was dated for April of this year. Which eventually became Trap when he moved to WB

They need to figure out how to stop losing money on streaming. They thought they could do what Netflix was doing, but then had to make original content, which costs money. Maybe they are wising up. I suspect Paramount+ will have to shut down, along with Peacock. I can only see doing Peacock if it had the Olympics, since I always feel I miss stuff with their TV coverage.
Don't forget Kevin Costner's breakout role was in Lawrence Kasdan's western, Silverado.

I'm on the other side of the Marvel fandom who didn't feel welcome until phase 3 so Deadpool is a new zenith for me. Marvels and Strange 2 are my fave mcu movies til then lol

I will say her comics and media sell more than Wonder Woman’s, and while WW is overall more iconic, Harley has definitely surpassed her in terms of the cultural zeitgeist.

My main concern with Hollywood and other industries is that seem to be embracing the management styles of tech companies. And the tech companies are chaotic. So that isn’t an industry which I would imitate. I would like to see more collaboration in the entertainment space.
I feel like a lot of families will go se LOTR to be honest. My family went to see the original in theaters when I was 10 and I fell in love
_The Hobbit (1977)_ was good. I don't know about the follow-up _The Lord of the Rings (1978)_ which was supposed to be the Fellowship of the Ring. I think I saw _The Return of the King (1980)_ but it's weird they skipped The Two Towers. Maybe that's what _Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim_ is supposed to be. Bad title though.
Not if there's no hobbits. War of the Rohirrim doesn't sound like it involves any Shirefolk.

@@coss1maybe not in the music department. But beside American Horror story, a star is born & house of Gucci … lady Gaga has barely gotten any roles at all. This could be because others just aren’t interested in casting her in movie or it could be that she just passes up on a lot of scripts like Sylvester Stallone typically does which is weird since he was just going through money problems, but we don’t know what’s going on cause only Lady Gaga knows. But from the outside looking in, it does look like Lady Gaga could use some help getting into the movie business if she ever plans on retiring from the music business.

I really don’t understand the obsession with WBD being sold lmao. A lot of economists and Wall Street people are keen on WBD remaining as is and not being swallowed up by another company. WBD and Paramount merging means inflated debt as well which is not appetizing to anybody. WBD is expanding to grow and that’s it lol.
Games was mentioned as well but just very very recently it was rumored that WB Games might be buying a gaming studio themselves to bolster up their gaming division! Nothing so far points to WBD being sold and (its pains me to say this) I feel bad that the efforts Zaslav is making to improve WBD’s portfolio is being dismissed as just him trying to sell. Like, why can’t he do it just to improve the brand period?
Better for the studios to be separate, even if owned by a bigger entity like Amazon owning MGM.
Zaslav actually mentioned (out of his own mouth - not rumor) wanting to acquire another studio months ago but some reason the media didn't want to cover it.

I want them to be profitable and winning at the box office, but I want it done through making great movies, series, and content in general. I think whatever they do they need to keep DC, Mortal Kombat and the game division, and their horror movies in the same spot. Also it would be a good idea to get some properties based on Manga/Anime since Netflix has been doing well with the ones they made.

Not to mention that Harley Quinn still has ongoing solo comics whereas Wonder Woman barely gets solo comics anymore & the only time she’s in more recent comics is if it’s justice league comics. So Grace is not that far off with this fact

House of Gucci was considered a box office success coming out of the pandemic era and had one of the best domestic debuts for an r rated drama 😭Gaga didn't get her flowers? She was praised even by the movie's harshest critics and her Oscar snub only stung because she was nominated for everything else leading up to it
I haven't seen it, but Grace's take is that they excluded her from the 3rd act of the movie, and it floundered without her.
The overall movie has been forgotten though since it was so bad. Very different than for example, A Star Is Born.

I feel like Lord of the Rings was family enough. It was a more mature version of the Hobbit but not “that” mature
I wish we could get more DC games of other characters outside of Batman. Problem is the mechanics for certain characters would be difficult. Examples I would want are The Flash, Green Lantern Corps, Green Arrow, Superman. A Zatanna game would be cool. Or a Super Sons game where you can play as Jon Kent and Damian Wayne.
