It's relatively easy to escape an interdiction drop if you have a decently built ship and you know the right sequence of things to do to high-wake out if you don't want to play with them. This issue, for me anyways, is if you escape multiple times easily and they keep on pulling you, and there is no real play reason for it. At that point it becomes griefing with an interdictor to me and shows the imbalance inherent with interdiction mechanics in-game. To absolutely prove it is griefing, simply build a super fast ship with an interdictor and keep pulling them with impunity. They will get really mad, chat you up all salty-like, end up blocking you etc. The lesson, of course, will completely elude them. Frontier needs to make a new type of FSD engineering called "interdiction resistant" that reduces the chance they can get a tether. Let players decide if they want to grind or sacrifice jump range engineering for it.
Interresting. The thing is people willl ALWAYS grind, whatever it takes. I still prefer this game as it was before engineering = hhen you had real compromises to make and that you can not mitigate with an engineer and grind time. You are right for the griefing FSD part even if I did not feel griefed at all on my hand. I expect that to happen because I choose to play in OPEN. I only expect other not to be rude, not to forget it is only a game, and not to cheat or CLOG. To concur with what you said about FSD mechanics, I would like Frontier to increase a bit the minigame maybe, but put a more severe penalty for the interdicting ship when it fails, for example, jumping out in another nearby system. This will prevent him from inteding again and agin the same player. It can add a bit of risk, if interdicting ship has low fuel an fuel sccoop, so it could also force to have more non combat modules and more balanced build, etc...
Open mode needs more balance to be viable. People leave open because it gets to be an annoying cesspool sometimes and I never understand people who say "it is open and you sign up for any and all annoying behavior" with no call for balancing mechanics. It is like mindless simping for a crappy system or just cynical defense of a system that benefits them only. Frontier needs to put more effort into defensive mechanics and engineering. If you notice all the engineering is for the hunter, not the evader in this game. They could make interdiction resistant FSD engineering (the biggest thing that is needed for sure because everyone is subject to being overly harrassed with an interdictor), or *real* stealth tech, etc...really up the cat and mouse game--but they don't. Instead they made open a paradise for bad actors, annoying players and die-hard/tryhards through their design decisions. They filter all power in Open to those willing to grind. I don't understand their design ethos because it seems the long-term health of the game would be improved if they made Open more balanced and gave players more viable means to evade without having to become a diehard/tryhard themselves. Not everyone has tons of hours to game.
I recently started playing in open and was leaving space dock on auto pilot in my exploration Anaconda and was getting rammed by another player... is this something people do to entertain themselves?
the only time ive came across players was when I called the fuel rats or organised a little meet-up with a friend ingame, how did you manage to find players?
You will find players mainly at : 1- Shinrarta Dezrha (all the time CMD are in SC or docked at Jameson). Beware, it is also a ganking place, but not only 2- In systems where a CG occurs 3- if lucky, in systems with engineers too have you ever considered joining a squadron also? It is a good way to play with other CMD See you in the Void, maybe o7
I remember I went ages finding only friendly players, places like guardian sites, they even help me out sometimes. Then there was like 10 times in a row a player would kill me for no reason (I had no bounty or cargo), from that day I vowed never to go into Open again except for very special events.
@@Sir-Complains-a-Lot I had to watch again in fullscreen but you are right that it is PVP, not PVE = Player vs Environment... I should have double checked.. 👍👍

Great music choice 🇬🇷
"and I took that personal"
entertaining as always ;) 🍻
Thx! Glad you liked it! It was not skilled pvp showcase, just some emergent funny times in open 😉
I like how you edit your clips, fun to watch and always good for a grin or laugh
