      To be fair, orca's don't want to mess with humans, for some odd reason. They will even save us from other creatures, only time a wild one will mess with you is if you do to them what you do to get punched by another human and decide to mess with them. Sharks.. sharks are sharks, some like the great white are just too stupid, and then you have the tiger and bull who are too aggressive, and then you have the mako, whose only real attacks to be recorded are in the middle of the ocean cause they travel in the region of the ocean with the least amount of food, so quite literally desperate for food.

    • @thejestor9378
      @thejestor9378 2 ปีที่แล้ว +282

      @@SuperGamefreak18 Yeah, even though sharks don't really want to eat us, except tiger and bulls being the aggressive fucks that they are. Then you have the great white.. it's just a big dumb shark that can't tell the difference between person and seal, goes in for a cursory test bite, and cause of how fucking big his jaw and teeth are, that test bite is still deadly. Great Whites are literally only dangerous because they are too stupid.

    • @SilverJ17
      @SilverJ17 2 ปีที่แล้ว +195

      To be fair, Orcas are only a horror flick to other sea life, especially Seals and Penguins. Thus, the Jaws theme only plays for them, not us. The only difference is Jaws didn't do it just for the hell of it. Orcas apparently love committing atrocities on other wildlife in the sea (or life that enters their domain, like Moose) just for the hell of it sometimes.

    I've been enjoying these videos for a while, loved your book too, and now you must be influencing my subconscious, because I had a dream about meeting an orca last night! It just started at the beach, then an orca swam up to the shore, doing that thing where they deliberately beach themselves to catch seals, except there was no seal, the orca was just doing this presumably for fun (and then went back into the water to swim around). I wanted to go in the water, since although they disrespect other animals they're not dangerous to humans, but someone else pointed out a baby orca and said not to go near in case the big orca (probably the mother) would be overprotective.
    I've often had dreams that have weirdly come true before, so I'll let you know if I ever do meet an orca!

    You might find the recent trend of orca attacks on sailboats off the coasts of Portugal and Spain interesting. For some reason, some orcas in the region find it funny to go after smaller sailing ships and smack the rudder or the hull around. This often results in ships left drifting and waiting for rescue after the rudders break. Lots of speculation on the causes, but I'm of the opinion that one orca found that shit funny and the rest of orcakind learned it from them. I believe we're over 50 incidents and counting in the last year or two.

    • @joanrivergrant906

      It's more than likely food-related, rather them doing it for fun. Many areas of the ocean are losing fish population rapidly due to humans overfishing in order to feed the human population. Meanwhile, a lot of ocean mammals that rely on other ocean life to survive, are starving to death because of it. It's happened before where boats have been attacked by things like orcas, or dolphins, because the boats are what is causing such a competition for food.

      bro, i know why they did this. Im moroccan so i know why they did this. It has nothing to do with wanting to really harm the humans. The orcas in the coast of gibraltar (located between portugal, spain an morocco) often catch the red tuna from the moroccan fishermen boats. This is probably the reason why attacks of orcas are so common here. Its not really attacks, they want to get red tuna

    Other crazy things abt Orcas:
    1) When they hunt bigger whales, they are known to only eat the most delicious part of the kill: the tongue. They’ll leave rest of the carcass
    2) It is the *speculated* that they are smart enough to not hunt humans; they understand that humans will start hunting them in return if they did
    Edit:
    1) Please keep the comments civil. Feel free to disagree but be mature and acknowledge different opinions.
    2) Regarding the point that Orcas don’t attack humans cause they have a strict diet. Yes, it’s true that Orcas have a strict diet and this is definitely a contributing reason. However, as many of the comments have pointed out *why HASN’T there been a SINGLE case of recorded attack by a WILD killer whale in history?* Orcas are known to attack animals for training purposes/for fun, including terrestrial animals. But humans are an exception. We know Orcas attack other intelligent animals, including dolphins and whales but not humans. This is different from most shark attacks in which the shark accidentally attacks a person (causing about 5 deaths per year), because in the last 100-200 years of written records, not a single incident occurred. This means that for *some reason, Orcas actively avoid hurting or hunting humans. Numbers speak for themselves.* On top of this, we know for a fact that Orcas fear humans (please watch Blackfish documentary for more information).

      The bones on any island are not confirmed to be Amelia. By a large amount, the most likely outcome is that she and her copilot crashed into the ocean and were killed immediately and we’ll never find any wreckage or trace of them.

      Ah, so the people who faked her crash, did really bad things to her and her copilot... including some cannibalism... are off the hook now thanks to the crabs that played with the bones at the dump site.

      Now i'm not saying I condone the culling of animal species out of fear, but if we for some reason did something that put them coconut crabs specifically out of commission, I would understand.
