I think I don't "see" the way everyone else does. Every makeup artist looks more youthful to me BEFORE they add contour and blush. A makeup artist recently commented that the less contrast on your face, the more youthful you look and I agree. Am I alone in seeing this?

Why are so many influencers using bronzer as you would use a contour? Sun bronzes the skin completely across the face from ear to ear, and certainly not down the sides of the nose - that’s contour. I rarely comment, but if you want to contour the skin, use contour, or use bronzer and call it what it is - contouring.

Trust the trend to use it interchangeably, I guess. Mine does top of cheeks, across the nose and a touch on forehead, love it like that

To be fair, Lisa isn’t really an influencer; she’s a celebrity makeup artist. Her techniques work well for women over forty. Lisa also acknowledged that makeup is very personal and if you feel a technique works better for you, by all means, continue applying the way you have.
Because Lisa is a wwll-known PMA, I can accept that she applies makeup far better than I ever could.
I used this technique several times with cream bronzers and it worked quite well. Some of us look silly wacking bronzer all over our faces.

SO HELPFUL! I would guess you did not apply a pore-blurring primer of any kind before you hit the shimmery powder blush -? I love your results, and thanks for reminding me that I have several colors of the L'Oreal Age Perfect Radiant Satin blush in my collection. That blush is so nice, I can even wear the slightly warm and bright Amber color without looking weird. Thanks Lisa!

Thank you Lisa, love from the north of the UK 🇬🇧 ❤. I wandered why my blush always looked a bit 'too much' as I was applying it everywhere; it's really not a good luck on me considering I'm nearing 40! I'm going to try this new trick tomorrow. Luckily we can get Jane's products over hear. I've also just ordered Nikki La Roses brush set & some more brushes from the BK Beauty website - can't wait for them to arrive they're my treat for this month having got a new job 😊

I always forget I have the whole Jane Iredale kit from Aesthetician school. I just passed my boards and I have kept most of my supplies in a room I don't use. Time to get my kit out and use it. My pressed powder foundation is the wrong color so I will need to replace that but they are medical grade products so very worth it.❤

Hello, my gorgeous Lisa. I happen to love when you apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. To me, that's your signature look. I always use a brush with a cream bronzer and blush.
The blush looks beautiful on you. Shimmer is a no no on pores. I have the Jane Iredale powder blush in Cotton Candy. A very pretty shade.
    Thanks for the tutorial.

Hi Sweet Lisa. At 63, I do have prominent Cheek bones, but my left side is a bit lower than my right, so I have to really be careful as to not go too heavy and or place my blush too far in. I have realized that the higher I go with my blush, the more it makes my cheeks look lifted. I have been wanting to try some of Jane Iredales makeup products. Especially her hydrating foundation ( one with the little beads of pigment. Also want to try her cream products. Thank you for a great Blush Placement tecnique.

Do you have videos on under eye hollows? I really struggle with this after I used an eye serum with prostaglandins. I feel like they have gotten worse and really age me. It's difficult to apply the amount of concealer that helps them not look so prominent without it looking heavy and cakey😢

Penn from Penn skin care of YT, told me a few days ago that the ingredient eyeliss it’s a peptide helps with puffy eyes. As well as lightly massaging the area. I ordered a product by Babyface with it in it, it’s called, Babyface Complete Eye Cream’. Ordered off Amazon but you could go to their site too. She also said another important thing is to not put thick layers under eye, it doesn’t absorb the same way as other skin on the face & that can make issues worse.

Shimmer AND dewy products can show pores and wrinkles.
A smoothing matte foundation like Dior Matte and a good not to dry powder like Givenchy makes the pores disappear.

Contour equals greys and goes in the hollows. Bronzer equals orange brown which goes where the sun hits you. Mix them up and it looks muddy.

I feel like the contour placement went quite low. We’re always told to start from the tops of your ears and make almost a straight line in, but you went really low, like almost to your jawline, and that kind of gives you a hollowed sunken cheek look in my opinion.I’m sure your opinion is different but it’s just something I noticed and things I’ve been seeing and hearing on the Internet that the placement is not supposed to go that low?

  • @Linalooo32

I do love to place my blush on the cheeks, because I have a very oval and small face unlike you who are heart shaped almost. That makes my face appear a bit fuller and youthful. (I’m 48) so all these “rules” you all recommend isn’t for all. 😊
I couldn’t contour like you either bc I would look like a skeleton 😂
