You cannot assimilate craftsmen, all craftsmen will assimilate to the culture of the first craftsman pop. This can be used to culturally convert provinces. I have had a game where Istanbul was Italian as the Ottomans due to this bug? feature? glitch? idk. You can make provinces whatever culture you decide due to this anyways.

Also, since people were complaining about the china strat, is there even a good alternative for countries who start in a very underpowered position (like Uruguay)? In basically all my sessions I end up conquering Korea, parts of China, SE Asia etc. It’s just such a lucrative source of money and manpower. Also also, it would be nice to see you play an actual nation again like -mormon deseret- no but just like austria or something where you can showcase how you use the mechanics of the game from the perspective of a major country (like the russia video).
Iirc there is a weird aspect to new world nations where conquering/colonizing Africa extensively can have a detrimental effect on immigration. If i remember the unemployment in africa was atrocious and owning lower than 30 liferating provinces was bad. Though it was smth Kaiser figured out and i could never wrap my head around it.
I should look at the factors again to confirm the liferating threshold but i think it was if you own a province under a certain liferating. but take this with a pinch of salt obviously since immigration is very weird in this game@@enochinri
Hmmm. Still I find that taking Africa is more advantageous to new world nations due to the assimilation rate and the immigration that allows them to turn colonies into states. Any decrease in immigration is offset by your ability to state all of Africa much easier than old world nations. It worked for me as Australia. I did wind up going anarcholiberal for the assimilation bonus. In the end a stated, partially assimilated Africa that cost you 0 infamy is worth more than owning all of China as far as your economy is concerned.
Obviously it doesn't go at the same speed as vanilla but it goes faster than most of the famous mods like hpm and gfm, even faster than the crimean mod because this one is based on Blood and iron. The mod, as I've seen, makes the AI more industrialized and adds new troops in late game like stormtroopers of the ww1. It also adds interesting new CBS that allow you to liberate nations and have them as your puppet, to be able to dismantle the industry of a state, and to be able to take an entire colony from a nation. I highly recommend giving it a try

Tarfaya, Ifni, and Agadir are in "Moroccan West Morocco." Maybe if there's a cool mod with Morocco content, but a united Arabia with a capital in Fez would be blessed

I can only speculate, but if you look at the pop promotion graph I see an explanation: vic2.paradoxwikis.com/Promotion Notice how laborers can promote to soldiers, but soldiers can only promote to officers and laborers/farmers. In a state as saturated as Uruguay, every slot for a laborer/farmer job is at 100% employment. So, the only job soldiers can become is officers, which they will only become based on the number of soldiers. So, laborers and farmers will promote to soldiers, and then other pops will immediately replace those laborers/farmers. Craftsmen will also promote to soldiers. So, I think soldiers just naturally accumulate, there is no other job for all those extra pops to go to lol

So pretty much a war filled nation which was still attractive to Europeans cause they still had better diet here than in the old continent.
