Cracks me up when I see 3 dislikes on such a stunning take. The haters should not even look at this and show disrespect. Great looking tank and an inspiration for all reefers in the hobby.
this tank is such an inspiration, completely stunning. my first marine tank will be arriving this autumn, red sea 750 xxl, and i would like it to be softie dominated, this has confimred just that. Thank you for sharing your fabulous work.
This is a truly stunning tank. Soft corals are overlooked, and this is a wonderful example of why they shouldn't be. Getting some ideas for my 240g build. Well done. Subscribed.
You inspired my softy tank. Truly awesome. I am having trouble finding out what one of your corals identity. If care to share, it is the white with dark blue polyps. Kind of finger like but polyps don't go all the way down. It's probably huge by now. Awesome stuff you have.
think i might just have soft corals in my tank lol looking at your tank it looks more alive than most of the hard coral tanks i have seen there's movement everywhere i look, really like that ...
Stunning. But also shows how huge some softies get. Bigger than most people say. I'm working on a tank half the size and it's good to see how amazing a soft coral scape can look but also which species do get too big for me.
I realize now that I was directed towards hard corals by the pet store employees and the person I purchased my tank from. I have never seen any of these kinds of corals locally. I can’t wait to unpack my marine aquaria books and learn about them. Is it possible to keep soft corals in a 30 gallon tank? Are crustaceans compatible with soft corals! I love shrimp, hermit crabs, arrow crabs…almost all creepy crawly people. I purchased a large live rock and after getting it home I had four unexpected residents: a tiny crab, a tiny nudibranch, tiny white starfish and one of the undesirables, a bristle worm. I enjoyed all of them. The nudibranch didn’t live long, it just disappeared.
holy moly ... what are you feeding this tank great motivation my new build almost done... can't wait now after seeing this AgapeReef - Be Thankful !!! coming soon. .. happy holidays I will follow along.
I never hit ‘like’ on a video so fast. Can you make a video going through the different corals for a beginner like me? All the articles I find on soft corals are all ‘beginner’ coral lists.
Did you find any you can recommend? I am hoping to start my aquarium in the next few months. Now that I have seen Mike’s soft coral tank I am hopeful I can create something more hardy than with hard corals. I did not have success with them because I naively purchased a complete nano reef tank already set up without knowing how to care for them. I had been focused on the fish and crustaceans. The previous owner convinced me that it was the easiest way to start in the hobby. Not!
Absolutely stunning soft coral tank 😄 you should be damn proud! Do you have any advice on coral placement that you can share? What is good together or what to avoid? What likes light and flow or what doesn't? Have you had any corals spread out of control? Thank you and sorry for all the questions.
Thank you Alex I am proud :) As far as coral placement it really is trial & error it depends on your flow, lighting, tank size. As you know nothing happens quickly in this hobby.
Fantastic tank! How old is your soft coral tank. And how do you manage to keep so many softies - with corals even touching each other - without massive chemical warfare? I have a predominately soft coral tank too but mine looks so horribly sparse compared to yours. My gorgonians and leathers have a fit any time something gets too near to them.
That is giant pulsing Xenia It is really great because it don't grow like regular Xenia all over the place it's on a single stalk and stays in that pom-pom size
Question the big bush like leather ( I think) top left of the tank the one almost out of the water what is the name of that coral I have been looking for one but not sure of the name?

Very nice softy tank! I love all the movement.
Such a stunning tank
Amazing tank...could you do a video where each coral is identified for the newbies in the hobby?

This rivals the beauty of any sps tank in my opinion.

Oh damn thats a nice tank. i have a few of these corals. how did you get such fantastic growth?
This looks amazing! I like the fish - was that a little basslet I saw at the front in the little sheltered spot? If so, what type?
Reefgrrl I think you're talking about a cardinal fish (different body than pj and bangaii). Think it's Ochrestriped
I looked it up and yes - that's the one! It's a really attractive fish. Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it.
