    Hi Ben, love your show.
    I don't know if you have known it already, but for your table problem (or anything else) with the stuck glue, try pouring some rubbing (isopropyl) alchohol, or ethyl alcohol (I use 96%, 70% might work)
    The glue would unstick like a charm!

    Here's a build idea.
    I love my helping hands for holding PCB's and wires, but having to either hold the strand of solder or pre-load components/wire with a blob of solder can be a pain if I'm out of clips on the helping hands.
    How about a soldering iron with an adjustable solder feeder?
    Like a reel of solder on the iron with a motor that pushes the strand into the join from a nozzle when you push a button.

    In software developing, I call this testing "prototyping". Not sure if that's the "official" name for it, but I like it. Maybe you could also call it "unit testing"?
    Anyways, great show, Ben! I'm a bit jealous that you can just build whatever you want, make it your job, and even have fun with it. But then again, I'm sort of the same, since I'm a software developer and it's one of my greatest passions. :D

    Though I'll probably build such a GREAT and ULTIMATE glue gun (mine sucks), 2 things : Use a silicone mat (hobby store) for glue drips. A must have accessory on your bench. Second, there's no need of scrapping and damaging your bench when a drop or 2 of rubbing alcohol (or household alcohol) can creep under the glue and you peel it off with no drama. I would generally get a hobby knife in a corner of the glue, a dab of alcohol, and by capillarity, it will proceed on all the contact surface between the glue and the bench. Then you peel it off.

    Well done, looking forward for more. But one point: Please to not mixup Puls width modulation and Puls Frequency Modulation. On PWM, the frequency stays constant and the puls duration changes. On PFM it is the other way around.

  • @Pumbear

    @7:38
    The frequency does not get changed by PWM though. The frequency in all three examples is 3 pulses per bar of time. PWM changes the length of a pulse thereby increasing the amount of charge/energy that a single pulse gives off.

    Just a quick little correction for the Tech Tip on PWM: At around 7:35 Ben says that it changes the frequency at which a load is given voltage, which isn't accurate since with PWM the frequency usually stays the same, what changes is the "duty cycle" which is how long the load is given full voltage over one cycle. Duty cycles are measured in percentages, 100% being full on time giving out one continuous voltage. 0% being no voltage, or off. One cycle usually lasts a very short time. Like milli/micro seconds depending on the usage.
    I'm sure Ben knows exactly what PWM is and everything about it, but he goofed his words a bit on that part of the explanation.

    The only problem is how to make the best "cleaning apparatus" if i may call these moving brushes and the trash-tray by this name.
