Instead of using the private members bill to help Ghana it is being used for political games!! The private members bill Clearly states that there should be no cost whatsoever to the nation when a private members bill is passed. Our speaker has blatantly refused to consider this and for reasons best known to Himself our honourable speaker knowing very well that there are cost implications to the state when prison sentence is attached to the bill still went ahead and allowed the private members bill to go ahead. Who is going to pay for feeding in jail? Who is going to pay for the prison cost etc even a lay person reading the private members bill provision will be able to see from the clause prohibiting financial cost to the state that the bills are dead on arrival due to the financial cost to the state and yet our speaker with all his experience couldn't work that out? May God help us and have mercy on Ghana!
