Good morning Tom, I value the insights you provided regarding the markings. Your explanation of the closed wing and open wing was enlightening. Question: Were MP40s and MG34s assigned to U-Boats, Kriegsmarine marked also? My research indicates that during a period of the war, boats were issued two MG 34's for protection while on the surface and 2 MP40's for security while in port and possible Visit Board and Search and Seizure operations. Thank you in advance.
Tom back then they considered 32 to be a police caliber and 9mm to be a military caliber and that idiotic treaty said no military production the 1920 mark is from that stupid treaty too it shows it was govt owned!! and Ober is basically upper so it would be a first lieutenant!!
My granddad brought a holstered Walther ppk home from WW2. It is brown tri-fold holster with two silver raised floral like ornamental with red felt in their centers. The pistol grips and magazines have caps are brown Bakelite. It looks to me that it may have been an officers side arm. Any idea what this might be from?
Good to have you back. 👍🏻
Outstanding video Tom! Sounds like you have a great trip!
I see you made it back and thank you Tom......
