      Wow, seriously do you know anything about this subject? Most of these tunics were private purchase which means if you had the money, whether you were an officer or a private you could pay what you wanted. Some officers decided to just get very basic of the peg tunics some didn’t.
      Some NCOs decided to spend all their money on a well Tailored tunic so they could walk the streets looking smart. You haven’t got a clue what you’re talking about have you?

      This auction was an absolute travesty for collectors half of the items in the catalogue were over Valued from the beginning and some of the prices for these items went far above what a dealer would sell them for? All the visor caps were an average size of 54 inches (just about fit my 14-year-old nephews head) One of the smallest actually went for €12,000 because everybody scrambled to try and get a piece of this collection for posterity. Once I had won my bids, I couldn’t care less and just enjoyed watching the whole facade of greed and stupidity play right in front of my eyes, the estate of Delich must be pissing themselves with laughter over the folly of some of these idiots who paid way over the odd prices for some of this stuff? They even had the gall halfway through to start increasing the minimum price on items when they knew they could get more money for them.
      This was a case of pure greed and nothing else it was absolutely disgusting and I’m just glad it’s all over.

    Incredible Himmer tunic. Saw it on WAF. Odd that its dated 38, read the white summer tunics were introduced in the summer of 1939, and basically only ever worn then. Could've been tailored before then, in 1938.
    SSTV collar tabs with the Sturm or Sturmbann number I believe were just ''NCO'' tabs. Enlisted wore bare skulls, for the early field grey uniforms. On the black uniforms that didn't apply. Embroidered skulls for the field grey uniforms, aluminum for the black uniforms.

      Often many collectors will loan out their collections to museums for a fee, or sometimes they will do it for free if the museum pays for the insurance it’s also great kudos for the collector to have his collection displayed. By the way, the summer tunic went for €1,550,000 the bidding went crazy after 1 million personally I think people just lost the plot in this auction. Some of the visor caps went for stupid money (and they were all very small head sizes) I spent including commission just over £30,000 UK at this auction and I managed to buy nearly everything I bid on, but I knew what I wanted, I think some people were just desperate to buy something that was owned by David, which is why the prices just escalated?

    • @Lev259
      @Lev259 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Sean-cz77 It is true that the SS-VT was not completely under control of the OKW(in the field) like its successor, the Waffen-SS was. Yet, it was still never a paramilitary organisation. From the beginning on it was created to fight in a war, and every member who joined the SS-VT was officially a Soldier, absolving their Wehrpflicht. They werent very good Soldiers, as seen in the early campaigns, but soldiers nontheless.
      And the Totenkopfverbände were also not paramilitary, but officially created for all sorts of police tasks. But as we know, they only were used for one task, guarding the concentration camps.
      The Allgemeine SS on the other hand of course was paramilitary, they were a civilian organisation of the NSDAP while having uniforms and a military rank structure.

    What a grotesque explanation that obfuscates the truth. All this fetishisation of SS artefacts is offensive. Remember the camps? Auschwitz-Birkenau. Belzec. Treblinka. Sobibor. Chelmno. Dachau. [A partial list] Not many "fighters" at those places. Enjoy your genocide memorabilia, but please be honest and more accurate when describing the deeds of the people who wore these garments.

    I would need some provenance on these items, this is the most replicated stuff in the world…..DNA tests or something…….not to mention the ribbons are all messed up or missing……way overpriced. If it’s the holy grail I would think it would be better protected and not in some flea market.

    Alex, I bought from this auction on Wednesday just gone, and spent over £30,000 that includes the 29.5% auction fee and I must say your standard of English when describing these items, (that I’m very passionate about) is extremely irritating! I have no problem with foreign accents, in fact I find them quite endearing. I am bilingual as I am half German and moved to England when I was very young, but you need to learn how to pronounce the English words you say, otherwise it becomes annoying to the point where I want to turn off your videos, which would be a shame. Just some constructive criticism and that’s all?😁

    I still have difficulty believing that some of these tunics are authentic. Yes they are exact but they are in too good of condition. Very suspicious.

    Gagner de l'argent en vendant ce genre de reliques me paraît discutable, c'est un peu limite niveau éthique.
